Sewing 200 - Intro to the Industrial Sewing Machines in the our Sewing Shop,

Details

So, what is the difference between a domestic machine and an industrial? The same difference between an internist and a surgeon, the domestic does most of what you need but the industrial specializes in a limited repertoire and does it very well. So, are you ready to learn about using them?

This is an intro workshop for those who already know how to use a domestic or one or two of the industrials. Come explore the machines we have and learn how and when to use them. Come learn the new coverstitch, the serger, the leather machine. And learn when you need each. This class will give you what you need to pass our certification for use of the industrials. It is also a deep dive into our sewing lounge. What is here, how to access it.

Limited class size. Only 7. Observers welcome but machine time in the class only for the class.

$15.00 donation, suggested. There is a sliding scale, contact the host for information. Funds go to Noisebridge.

Sewing skills are required. If in doubt, contact the host. This is not a class for beginners (nor for new machine sewers, really, we will be going pretty quick through concepts and skills).
