Welcome to Parramatta Exploration Group where,you guessed it, the place to be if you want get out and explore the stunning grandeur of the Blue Mountains and the rivers, creeks and walking tracks of your own local environment.

If you just want to get outdoors and enjoy walking with new found friends in a relaxed atmosphere than this is what we're all about.
Your welcome to join us and share your own experiences as part of an expanding and progressive organisation where members are first and foremost.
There is a yearly fee of $10 for all members paid into BSB 062428, Account No 10203733. Use your Meetup name as I.D and contact or message 0451483009 to confirm and most importantly, get out there and enjoy yourself.
Only requirement that new members must provide is a recognisable photo of themselves so that we can identify you when you turn up for walks.

ASGARD SWAMP AND THOR'S HEAD

When we're ready we'll organise a carpool to the start of the Thors Head Track.

Be prepared for an isolated adventure on a quiet trail with spectacular views looking over the Grose Valley with an even more spectacular view at the end of the trail at Asgard Head Lookout.
On our return journey we get to see Asgard Mine, explore a tunnel, a shale furnace and a cook house built into the side of the mountain.
A sidetrack takes us to Thor Head with one of the most awesome views in the mountains. Being springtime will add a myriad of colour to the abundant flowers in bloom.
A walk with a stepback into history with magnificent scenery and all to ourselves. About 10 klms and three and a half hours should do it including sidetracks and exploring, maybe four hours. A few climbs but basically a medium grade adventure.

P.S. Bring a torch to explore the mine tunnel under the mountain and anything else I've neglected to inform you of. I will include a few photos from the last visit to give you a sneak peek, If you want more come and get your own.
