What we're about

The Sacramento Social Club (SSC) is a community of human beings exploring life and the environment around us. Are you new here? Have you lived in the greater Sacramento area all your life? Are you looking for new friends, new adventures and the opportunity to learn and grow?

Whether it is a hike, dining, happy hours, archery, networking, communication and education presentations, concerts, art-openings, bike rides, and many other fun group activities. - we are here to try it all. If you are open minded, fun loving, and open to learn what our area has to offer, pick an event, introduce yourself, and enjoy! If you have suggestions for events or want to host something yourself, feel free to send us a message.

"Sacramento is more than just Happy Hour; it's an adventure."

Discover Archery in Discovery Park

Discovery Park

Looking to get outdoors and enjoy the cool morning weather while trying something new? Come on out to Discovery Park and try your hand at a little old fashioned archery. I have three bows, a 30 and a 45lb recurve bows for righties, and one light recurve for lefties. Arrows to go around, and a couple of target sheets to put up. Or maybe you have your own bow and would like to bring it along? That's great too. Experienced, or never having shot, all are welcome. Or just come to hang out too. There's bike paths, two rivers, and plenty of cool spots in the park. After shooting, I sometimes like to jump in the water too if it gets hot enough. The park has something for everyone. As for the park itself, you can get in off of Garden or Jibboom. We will be starting very close to the Garden entrance though. If you drive in to the park, there is a $5 entry fee, so be prepared to pay at the little kiosk. If you bike or walk, there is no cost. We look forward to meeting you on the range!

By popular request, I am adding this here too:
Other than the park charging for you to park your car if you choose to drive to it and park inside the gate, there is no mandatory cost to this event. That said, there are costs involved for the organizers. The group would like to buy additional arrows, and maybe another bow or two, not to mention the ongoing replacement of targets. If you are willing to help out with the costs of the group gear, please chat with us at the event. Thank you.

Marti Gras... Carnevale... ? Let's just call it a Pary!

Capitol Mall

Sac Social Club is going to Mardi Gras!

It may not be N'awlins, but let's head over to the City of Trees Parade and Mardi Gras Festival (https://curiositycollaborative.org/city-of-trees-parade/), happening Saturday, February 18th from 2 to 7PM! The FREE festival and parade begins at 2PM and will feature live musical performances, locally produced alcoholic beverages, and the 1000-person City of Trees Parade will be rolling by.

We are getting all dressed up and heading out to check out Sacramento's biggest Mardi Gras celebration ever! The City of Trees Parade will feature nearly 1,000 performers, giant Burning Man art cars, marching bands, dance troops, and amazing Sacramento art, music, and culture. Costumes are of course optional, but if you want to participate in that, hit me up or head on over to Atrium (https://atrium916.com/) or Evangelines (https://evangelines.com/) and get your Carnivale finery ready!

Want to get more involved than the free stuff?

JOIN the Krewe of Trees! (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2023-krewe-of-trees-costume-march-and-fundraiser-registration-399592089697)
When you sign up to join the Krewe, you get to be IN the parade, throw beads, and dance to the Bigger Than Us Brass Band down the parade route from the Capitol to Old Sacramento. The first 50 registrants will get a ticket to Crocker's ArtMix Mardi Gras Party in February, and everyone gets a ticket to Louisiana Sue's "Mardi Gras Meets Carnival" party happening before and after our parade!

If you have ever dreamed of being in a Mardi Gras parade, this is *literally* your ticket! Throw beads, party down, and help us build a bigger, more amazing celebration than Sacramento has ever seen!

The parade's organizer team is all-volunteer! So that means 100% of your tax-deductible Krewe Dues will go towards paying artists, musicians, and permits to make this parade possible. Tell your friends and sign up today to get ALL the amazing benefits! ((Untold surprises await you!))
