3.4 miles, 100ft ascent, out-and-back. No hazards.
Description: We'll hike along the north shore of Batiquitos Lagoon in Carlsbad. There is a fair amount of shade. The 561 acre lagoon attracts a lot of birds. Last here 7/24. https://www.meetup.com/sandiegodayhikers/events/302125634

Meet at 9:30AM at the trailhead at the south end of Gabbiano Lane

Leashed dogs are allowed. Bathroom at visitor center may be closed - don't count on it!!
Directions: : Going North on I-5 take exit 45 (Poinsettia Lane, Aviara Pkwy). Go east on Poinsettia Lane, turn right on Batiquitos Dr., turn right again on Gabbiano Lane, and follow it to its end.
Tips: Wear good hiking shoes, dress in layers, take a hat, sunscreen, water and a snack.
