Za Pizzeria and Swensen's Ice Cream
I could go on and on.. about how special Za Pizzeria is, how many restaurants have Salvador Dali on their menu? And their delivery zone stops across the street from me, so they'll deliver to them, but not to my address.. it's epic marketing. This is my second event doing this combo, can we break my record of attendees? (I'll keep that number secret).

But Michael Bauer said it best:
A little girl runs into Za Pizza and grabs the counter to lift herself up.
“Hi, Doreen,” says owner Brooks Berstein. “How are you today?”
Before long, the mother and an even smaller child straggle in and take a seat. It’s a lazy Sunday afternoon, but the place fills up with the neighborhood folks: singles just getting up from a night on the town, and young families that have found the thin-crust pizza a life blood.

Being in Russian Hill, it’s also little wonder that the place uses art as an inspiration for names and on the walls. This popular stop opened by Bernstein and Buzzy Campisano 17 years ago is a very personal affair. The partners have watched the children grow to adults, and they even take off their aprons and deliver pizzas during the day.

The place would be full even if the pizza wasn’t good, but the owners have perfected a crust that has that soft interior, a crisp veneer and a pleasant crunch from a thin layer of coarse ground cornmeal.

Meet San Francisco Foodies at Za Pizzeria in Russian Hill and you will not be disappointed.

Now.. hard to follow that.. but Swensen's Ice Cream was born in San Francisco. Opened in 1948, they are still there, and their Ice Cream is the best.

Just a walk down the road, and it's a typical shop, scoops, shakes and maybe the special Mr. San Francisco.

My mother introduced me to Swensen's Ice Cream, down the road where my father studied for this Master's degree. They aren't there anymore, but they are still here.

Taxes and Restaurant Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and probably an employee health mandate (3-10%), a tip (20%) may be automatically added, even on individual bills, if not we expect a 20% minimum tip to be paid for individual bills.

The host calculates each diner's orders separately unless they allow separate orders, separate checks and round the final payment up to the next dollar.

Each diner is responsible for their own orders and costs but we will have to consolidate and divvy up the final bill accordingly.
