Kokkari Estiatoro: Table for 6 ($25 deposit)

Details

Kokkari Estiatoro is consistently one of the most popular restaurants in San Francisco. Join me for a Greek feast!

(And now for some AI . . .)

Prepare for a journey to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean, right in the heart of San Francisco. Kokkari Estiatorio is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Hellenic culture, a vibrant and elegant escape where ancient traditions meet modern sophistication.

Step into a space that feels both grand and inviting, a warm embrace of exposed brick, rich wood, and flickering firelight. The air is filled with the tantalizing aromas of wood-fired lamb, fresh herbs, and the sweet scent of citrus. You'll be transported to a Greek village, where hospitality is a way of life and every meal is a shared feast.

Under the masterful guidance of Executive Chef Erik Cosselmon, the menu at Kokkari is a love letter to the flavors of Greece. Chef Cosselmon, who has been with the restaurant since its inception, honors traditional techniques while showcasing the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. His deep respect for Hellenic culinary traditions is evident in every dish, from the perfect char on the grilled meats to the delicate balance of flavors in the meze.

Indulge in an array of signature dishes that have become legendary in San Francisco. The Lamb Chops, seared to perfection over a mesquite grill, are a must-try, known for their tender juiciness and rich flavor. Another standout is the Whole Fish, fresh from the market and simply grilled with olive oil, lemon, and wild oregano, allowing the natural sweetness of the fish to shine. For a true taste of the Aegean, don't miss the Kokkari Mezze Platter, a curated selection of house-made spreads, including creamy tzatziki, smoky melitzanosalata, and fava bean puree, served with warm pita bread. And for a grand centerpiece, the slow-roasted Wood-Fired Lamb is an unforgettable experience, cooked until it's fall-off-the-bone tender.

(The AI portion of this event description has concluded!)

On a personal note, I live near this restaurant, and everyone leaves looking really happy.

Costs
I will be collecting a $25 deposit from each participant shortly after RSVPs open, to cover the restaurant booking fee. This will be deducted from your final total.

Meze range from about $13-21 and entrees range from $30-70. Alcohol and dessert will increase your tab.

Each diner is responsible for their own orders and costs, and we will have to consolidate and divvy up the final bill accordingly. Each diner’s orders will be calculated separately, unless we agree to share some food family style. Please be prepared to split the check and pay via cash, Venmo, Zelle, or Apple Pay.

Taxes and Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%). The restaurant charges an employee health mandate (6%) and likely a mandatory gratuity for a large party.
