My Canh Chinatown/North Beach Vietnamese Owner Invitation

Details

My Canh
I woke up today relaxing because of our US holiday marking the end of what most of the rest of the northern hemisphere calls summer, and there it was.. an invitation by the new owner of My Canh for us to visit, so I'm doing another unplanned meetup.

My Canh is now a woman-owned restaurant. Leanna recently purchased My Canh from the original owners a Vietnamese couple in May of this year, she is maintaining the same menu and invited San Francisco Foodies to come visit.

I haven't been in several years, sometime prior to the pandemic lockdowns. They have good Pho; consitantly ranking among San Francisco's best; and other soups, and a common Vietnamese menu, but were known for their Bánh canh cua, a thick crab soup.

I'm looking forward to visiting again.

Minutiae
My Canh advertises a 10% discount to San Francisco Residents, but you need to bring your ID, and they are Cash Only.

History
Originally opened in 1990 by Vietnamese Immigrants, a married couple, dedicated to homestyle Vietnamese cooking.

Taxes and Restaurant Fees
Dining in San Francisco has a sales tax (8.625%) and probably an employee health mandate (3-10%), a tip (20%) may be automatically added, even on individual bills, if not we expect a 20% minimum tip to be paid for individual bills.

We will try to get separate checks, but remember to bring cash.

Each diner is responsible for their own orders and costs but we will have to consolidate and divvy up the final bill accordingly.

Please bring cash or have Zelle or Apple Cash available.
