Shut Up & Write! is a global community that empowers writers to overcome procrastination, silence their inner critic, and make consistent progress on their projects. Our events provide a structured and focused environment where writers can come together, set aside distractions, and achieve their writing goals.
What to Expect
Our events use our proven formula: a few minutes of introductions, a period of focused writing, and a final check-in to share our progress. Once you arrive, our host will lead introductions, and then everyone will write for a quiet, focused period of time. Afterward, we’ll have an optional time to chat and get to know each other. Our events are a safe space for writers to work on their craft. No one will read or critique your writing.

Our goals: Meet fellow writers and authors in a relaxed setting. Designate a time to get some writing done. Get a bite to eat or a drink. Let creative energy flow.
What to expect: Bring your writing implements of choice. We meet at Mountain Mike's Pizza (2220 Gold Springs Court near Sunrise Blvd. and Gold Express Dr.) around 5:30 PM, get settled with some great food or beverage, and start introductions by 5:45. Each writer gives a brief description of their project and goals. We write until 7:00 and do a quick check-in, each person reports on their progress. Discussions centered on writing may follow.
Keep in mind: Shut Up & Write is always free, however, participants are encouraged to purchase food or drink at Mountain Mike's. We want the venue to be happy we are there.
