What we’re about
8 July 2020 - Last year, I organised several parenting talks for parents to learn about 'ScreamFree Parenting' from a book written by Hal Runkel. This year, I do not want to restrict myself to just about 'ScreamFree Parenting'. Therefore I decided to change the group name to Singapore Parenting Meetup.
I am parent of three children, oldest is 22 and youngest is 13. I am not the expert though, I am still learning about parenting. We all know that being a parent doesn't means that we automatically know about parenting. Parenting is a skill worth learning as it has a major influence on most aspects of child development. When optimal, parenting skills and behaviours have a positive impact on children's self-esteem, school achievement, cognitive development and behaviour.
