What we're about

Please click here for our mailing list!  Welcome. I'm so glad you found us... Welcome to SMWSLT. Our group is alive and well and growing by leaps and bounds. We host both online and live events, mostly but not exclusively in the Orange County area.

I have been so touched by the intimacy and connections that are being created ongoingly through our group interactions. Lots of close friendships and circles have been made and yes, even some romance! I try to mix it up and keep it interesting and I’m always open to new ideas and feedback. My commitment to every member is that there are no "outsiders" and all folks that identify as a woman loving women are welcome. I believe that the experience of feeling welcome and included is palpable in our group events whether live or on Zoom.

As of 2022, I am now leading groups to Greece once or twice a year. Please check out my travel website at lesbiangetaways.com for upcoming trip info. We still have a few spots open for the end of May, 2023. You can watch a video presentation on the home page if you like.

For FB users, please follow us (facebook.com/somanywomensolittletime/). If you would like to be part of our secret FB or our So Cal Lesbian Pickleballers group, please email me at cooljode@gmail.com. Once in, you can invite your friends directly from there.

I would love it if you joined the smwslt mailing list. This separates out our special announcements from all the other meetup emails which can be overwhelming at times. I ask that you please set your notifications at minimum to receive organizer messages and new event announcements. This has to be done while actually on our group site. You can find the settings by clicking on your round profile photo on the top right corner and select email and notifications.

I am so looking forward to meeting you whether it be online or in person when that time comes.

With Enthusiasm,
Your organizer, Jody

Please meet up at Dolores Park and walk with us in the Dyke March. I will bring a banner. Please bring your music with speakers and please bring your signs. Dress up or down... Just be YOU (but wear comfy shoes)! Eat a big meal before you join us. Bring a bottled water. We will eat dinner after at Mission Dolores Park. I will have picnic blankets and food brought in for us. Please stay tuned to this event page as I will update the exact meeting spot at Mission Dolores park so we can walk together. If you are from out of town you are welcome to stay at my home in Redwood City, CA. We will get a ride to the event and will be picked up afterward.

How to find us at Mission Dolores Park in San Francisco:
Look for a big helium balloon (I will update with what the helium balloon will look like) and then a Yellow MEETUP sign when you get closer. Text me (Jenn) at[masked] if you cannot find us.

Lets read...Heart of Sherwood

Link visible for attendees

Hello book lovers! Let’s read and discuss – Heart of Sherwood by Edale Lane. - What if Robin Hood was real, only the heroic outlaw had been a woman?

Robyn lost everything: her home, her family, and her freedom. Branded as an outlaw by the Sheriff, she reinvents herself by joining Little John and his band in the guise of a boy, soon becoming their leader. But she misses the woman she loves, her best friend Marian.

Marian is distraught over the news concerning Robyn, and wishes to leave court for Nottingham to find her. Queen Eleanor sends her back as a spy to check up on Prince John, Sir Guy, and the greedy sheriff, while she tries to raise money for King Richard’s ransom. Soon Marian forges an alliance with Robyn to foil a traitorous plot, discovering her feelings run much deeper than friendship.

Can Robyn win Marian’s love, help the poor of Nottingham, save the king, and defeat the sheriff, or will his merciless sword strike her down?

Winner of Rainbow Awards Best Historical Lesbian Romance,[masked]!

Sherwood’s naughty forest… - Jo Jo

Please be prompt, at 7 pm Pacific, and plan to stay until we close out as a group or at 8:30 pm Pacific. We open with a short icebreaker within a few minutes of the start time, which is great for getting to know one another better. Arriving late or leaving early “individually” can distract the group discussion, so arriving on time and staying until 8:30 pm Pacific, is appreciated. We do occasionally stay later but if you need to bow out then, no worries. And…we could finish early. (Early has not happened, but I am just saying it could. Lol.)

* It is a social event so please have your video ON. It is also for transparency and peace of mind for all our members in this Zoom world.

WHERE: Zoom - Attendees will receive a private link and password on the day of the event. I will post a comment when I have sent it. Please do not share or post the link or your password.

Make sure your Meet Up notification setting for email is on for this group. (If you saw this book discussion announced via email, your setting is on. ;))

Bring your sweet self, any notes that you may want to share, and your favorite beverage. :)

- YES RSVPs, if you can't make it, please take a moment to change your RSVP to NOT GOING asap. It is just a courteous thing to do. :)

** If you are new to zoom, watch this video. Make sure to watch the video to the end. (A little over 5 minutes.) A senior does a great job of showing the various items you will want to know about. It is easy! Really. https://youtu.be/kh50kVaIdAY
