What we're about

Please click here for our mailing list!  Welcome. I'm so glad you found us... Welcome to SMWSLT. Our group is alive and well and growing by leaps and bounds. We host both online and live events, mostly but not exclusively in the Orange County area.

I have been so touched by the intimacy and connections that are being created ongoingly through our group interactions. Lots of close friendships and circles have been made and yes, even some romance! I try to mix it up and keep it interesting and I’m always open to new ideas and feedback. My commitment to every member is that there are no "outsiders" and all folks that identify as a woman loving women are welcome. I believe that the experience of feeling welcome and included is palpable in our group events whether live or on Zoom.

As of 2022, I am now leading groups to Greece once or twice a year. Please check out my travel website at lesbiangetaways.com for upcoming trip info. We still have a few spots open for the end of May, 2023. You can watch a video presentation on the home page if you like.

For FB users, please follow us (facebook.com/somanywomensolittletime/). If you would like to be part of our secret FB or our So Cal Lesbian Pickleballers group, please email me at cooljode@gmail.com. Once in, you can invite your friends directly from there.

I would love it if you joined the smwslt mailing list. This separates out our special announcements from all the other meetup emails which can be overwhelming at times. I ask that you please set your notifications at minimum to receive organizer messages and new event announcements. This has to be done while actually on our group site. You can find the settings by clicking on your round profile photo on the top right corner and select email and notifications.

I am so looking forward to meeting you whether it be online or in person when that time comes.

With Enthusiasm,
Your organizer, Jody

Sacred Roots Group Journey to Greece!

Greece

We would love to have you join us on our two part international adventure to Greece!

For the first five days, we will be joined by a new friend Dimitra, a brilliant lesbian archeologist and expert on all things Greek. She has designed an experiential adventure on the mainland where we will not only explore both the ancient and modern areas of Athens but will also venture through villages, museums, castletowns, cultural hotspots and archeological sites to learn about the beauty and history of Greece, focusing on the goddesses. There will be a farmers picnic, wine and olive tasting and other authentic experiences like that.

The second part of our trip is on Isle of Lesvos where we will stay at Amazones Eco-land, a lesbian retreat center owned by a new friend, Ronit. It is a special piece of land with a beautiful view of the sea. Based there, we will venture out to explore villages and monistaries along with participating in Greek cooking, art and dance classes, singing and dancing, yoga and women's circles and more.

Beyone what is mentioned above, this journey is about connecting as a group and making and deepening friendships.

There are 12 of us going so far. We have room for a few more!

Please visit lesbiangetaways.com where you can learn more and click on a variety of links to view accommodations and learn more about our exciting adventure.

Please reach out with any questions you may have. [masked]/(707)[masked].
Until then,
Jody

RED SHIRT PRIDE Day at DISNEYLAND - SMWSLT

Disneyland Park

Let’s meet at Disneyland in California on June 3, 2023 for RED SHIRT PRIDE DAY AROUND THE WORLD to help spread the message of Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, Safe Expression and Kindness around the world. The KindRED Pride Foundation was inspired by a 30 year-long tradition which began when members of the LGBTQ community donned red shirts and visited Disney World Orlando on every first Saturday in June.*

We thought it would be fun to create our own gathering here in California to stand in solidarity with the East Coast folx during PRIDE MONTH. So put on your RED SHIRT and meet us at the ticket gates at 7:30am for entry. The park attractions open at 8am. Don’t feel like getting up early? There will be more opportunities to get together with the group throughout the day.

HERE'S THE SCHEDULE!
FYI: Parking Lots open 7a, Gates open at 7:30, Access to attractions 8am
*7:45am – 8 am Group Photo at the Flag Pole in the Plaza (look for the red shirts!) (we may hold until 8:15)
*11:00 am lunch at Rancho Del Zocalo in Frontierland
*12:30 pm at Sleeping Beauty Castle for our 2nd group shot with our photographer
*5:00 pm Final Group Photo at the Castle
*5:15 pm We’ll begin our trek to Bear Country for dinner
*5:30 pm Dinner at the Hungry Bear Restaurant

Your RSVP will help us keep track of who is coming, however you will be responsible for the following:
1. Obtain your own Disneyland Park TICKET
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/experience-updates/park-reservations/
2. Make your Disneyland Park RESERVATION for June 3rd
(You may not enter without it.)
3. Arrange for your own transportation (carpooling and ride-sharing suggested, and I bet some of us will be up for it, so please ask about that in the comments.)
4. PARKING is $30 at Disneyland Lots which open at 7am.
Check website for lot locations.
5. WEAR A RED SHIRT! While at Disneyland please feel free to stay together or do your own thing and meet at the designated times and locations in the above itinerary. A map is provided, below, to help you find us.

Thanks to Jenn English for this wonderful idea. Jenn & Carm are co-hosting.

Jenn’s phone number is[masked] which you can use to text her during the event if you arrive between meeting times.

*Please note that this is NOT a Disney sponsored event, nor is June 3 /Red Shirt day a GayDays event, which is hosted by GayDaysAnaheim in September. For more information on The KindREDpride Foundation and how it supports the LGBTQIA2S+ Community please visit:
