What we're about

Please click here for our mailing list (https://forms.gle/b9yYr3KWKNWJLq9K9)! Glad you found us... Welcome to the So Many Women…So Little Time meetup group. Our group is alive and well and growing by leaps and bounds. We host online zoom events with members from all across the country and are now starting to host some live outdoor events as well, as long as they are safe. Time and space have taken on a whole new meaning. For all of you out of towners, don't worry. I never plan to leave zoom!

I have been so touched by the intimacy and connections that are being created day by through our group interactions. Lots of friendships have been made and yes, even some romance! I try to mix it up and keep it interesting for you all and I’m always open to new ideas and feedback. My commitment to every member is that there are no "outsiders" and all folks that identify as a woman loving women are welcome. I believe that the experience of inclusiveness is palpable in our group events whether live or on Zoom.

For FB users, please follow us (facebook.com/somanywomensolittletime/). If you would like to be part of our secret FB group, please friend request me at Jody Potiker and I will invite you. Once in, you can invite your friends directly from there too.

I would love it if you joined the smwslt mailing list. This separates out our special announcements from all the other meetup emails which can be overwhelming at times. I ask that you please set your notifications at minimum to receive organizer messages and new event announcements. This has to be done while actually on our group site. You can find the settings by clicking on your round profile photo on the top right corner and select email and notifications.

I am so looking forward to meeting you whether it be online or in person when that time comes.

Until then, Your organizer, Jody

NEW PLAYERS or players that need a refresher: YOU MUST ATTEND THE 6:30 TRAINING SESSION AND LEAVE A COMMENT THAT YOU ARE COMING AT 6;30 SO THE TEACHER KNOWS TO SHOW UP. ALSO PLS READ EVERYTHING BELOW INCLUDING ITEMS 1 THROUGH 4. Thx.

Zoom link appears when you RSVP.
Hope to see you soon for a fun night of conversation and laughs.

PLEASE CANCEL YOUR RSVP if you can't come so women on the waiting list can take your spot. Thx.

NEW PLAYERS READ INFO BELOW.
1. There will be a prerequisite before you play with the experienced players. You must attend a learning session. The learning sessions will be offered at 6:30 pm (30 mins before the game starts), That way you can learn the game and practice. This will make things go smoother for both the new people and the experienced players.

2. If you are new and cannot attend the learning session then please choose another day to attend. DO NOT JOIN THE 7 PM GAME GROUP UNTIL YOU HAVE ATTENDED A LEARNING SESSION AT 6:30 PM WITH FRANN,

3. If you want to familiarize yourself with the game before attending the learning session you can go to this website https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/178900/codenames.
Scroll down the website for a description of the game and to watch videos that explain the rules, etc..
This game has won some 50 international awards.

4. Important: You should come ready to play Codenames on a medium or large screen (iPad or larger). Playing it on a phone is possible, but frustrating. You will need to have two windows open: Zoom and the Codenames platform. You can do this on a single screen, or you can have Zoom on your phone and Codenames on your computer. You can only have your microphone on on one device to avoid creating an echo.
You don't need to download any software b/c we will use a website for the game.

Zoom link appears when you RSVP.
Welcome to the Codenames Family!!

PLEASE CANCEL YOUR RSVP if you can't come so women on the waiting list can take your spot. Thx.

Laugh Out Proud L.A.- Pride Month Edition both Live and on Zoom

Needs a location

Pride is coming next month! This event is happening in person and on zoom! If someone is willing to host for us in person, please email me at [masked] and let me know. All you would do is meet everyone out front ahead of time and make sure everyone's meeting one another. It's nice to know there will be people there to join in the fun with. Here's the link on Facebook

LGBTQ+ PRIDE MONTH EDITION! This popular event has been going strong for 7 years now. With Kim Diaz at the helm, we have brought together some of the finest comedians around. This month we welcome back Robin Tyler, Torrance Hill, Jackie Monahan and Shelagh Ratner! More surprise guests will be announced, so stay tuned!

An outreach program to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning communities, the show is for everyone (parental guidance suggested). Enjoy some live comedy with us and discover a strong LGBTQ community.

Bawdy and irreverent, the humor can be reminiscent of late-night television - without the censor.

Although this is a free event, we do ask for donations for the comics. We will take whatever you want to give (no donation too small).

FUN FUN FUN! The doors open at 7:30, show starts at 8.
Seating capacity is limited, so please cancel your reservation if you can't make it.

To join us on Zoom, email [masked] for login details.

OC Pride Kick-off Picnic in the Park!

Needs a location

Hey there, who's ready to "have a ball" and kick off Pride season?? Announcing our Pride potluck/picnic at Yorba Regional park in Yorba Linda.

This event will be much like the "picnics in the park" held last year on Sundays. Bring your own lounge chair/blanket and snacks, and feel free to bring enough to share with others if you wish. Last year we had one member bring in In-N-Out, and another member brought rainbow cucpakes. 🤗

Bocce ball will be brought to be played and if anyone wishes, please also feel free to bring their favorite own outdoor sport or activity (kites, badminton, football, baseball etc). Or just lounge and be social under the shade whatever your fancy!

It's a lovely afternoon spent lounging under the shady trees near the parking lot that located furthest West on La Palma (dirt lot before the main entrance). If you get to a paid parking lot, you are too far east. Drive toward Imperial Hwy and look for the dirt lot entrance.

We will be right on the edge of the grass near the dirt parking lot.

Start time 1pm.

Let's have a good time and celebrate Pride!
