Tarot and Metaphysical Symbolism

Welcome! We meet via Zoom on the Third Thursday of every month.

Join us online to discuss the cards and learn about tarot symbology and archetypes. Over the next 22 months we'll take a look at the Thoth deck Major Arcana, beginning with the Fool and ending with the Universe card.

The Major Arcana shows the progress on the path of human evolution. Last month we discussed the Thoth deck Lovers card, key 6, exploring how embracing aspects of ourselves and others, using the power of Love helps with unity and partnerships. This month, we'll discuss the Chariot, key 7, and move outside our comfort zones, fearlessly going to places we've never gone before.

The Chariot card shows our drive to evolve, to carve out our place as individuals, to learn more about ourselves, and push things to their limits. The Charioteer wears a helmet with a crab, showing this card's association with the zodiac sign of Cancer the crab. Like the hard exoskeleton of the crab, the charioteer wears a suit of protective armor. The road could get a bit bumpy. Look out for reckless driving!

The Charioteer is not holding the reins and his crab helmet's visor is down, covering his eyes. This is a spiritual journey to travel within, to learn how to align our thoughts, feelings, actions, and intuition with our spiritual purpose. Along the way, we learn how to set personal boundaries.

Ultimately, it is our own desires and will power that move us forward. The things that inspires us drive us to take risks. At key 7, the Soul is evolving and testing out what it wants. Move courageously into the unknown and return victorious, having achieved the goal. Just do it!

By directing your focus on higher consciousness, you can receive profound insights, refine your belief systems, change your habitual patterns, and cultivate a better relationship within yourself.

Start a daily practice of picking a card a day to see how the cards can help guide you to make better informed decisions.

By setting aside a few minutes each day to ask the cards a question, you are giving yourself the chance to envision the future you want to create by taking a moment to reflect on how you will achieve it. Anything is possible if you see the potential and harness opportunities.
