Hike at Stone Mountain Cherokee Trail and Connector Trail

Details
Hi, it's Angie. I'll be leading the hike today in Charlie's absence.
Let's hike the Cherokee Trail and the Connector trail inside of Stone Mountain Park. This is a beautiful trail which circles the mountain. Sights include the lake and the Grist Mill. It's a very pretty trail.
We will meet near the bathrooms at the walk up trail lot (Confederate Hall) at Noon and we will complete the Cherokee Trail and the connector trail for a total of almost 6 miles. We will NOT go up the mountain but around on wooded trails. We can also add on the King's Island loop for an additional mile. We can decide that the day of the hike.
There is a $20 parking fee to enter Stone Mountain. You can also purchase a yearly pass for $40. There is free parking outside of the park BUT IT IS YOUR RESPOSIBILITY TO RESEARCH THIS PARKING.
Plan accordingly with travel time as it can be busy getting through the gate and parking can be challenging. Plan to arrive early to allow for these conditions. I do plan to begin the hike on time at Noon.
Be sure to wear proper shoes, bring hiking poles, water and snacks if you need them.
Please reach out with questions prior to the day of the hike as I often do not check my phone on the day of the hike.
Angie
