Fort Yargo - Secret Entrance

Details
About The Trail:
Fort Yargo State Park is a 1,816-acre state park. It includes a 260 acre lake, a large swimming beach, fishing and boat ramps, and 20.5 miles of hiking and biking trails, almost all of which are in view of a gorgeous lake.
About The Hike:
Distance = We'll do our normal eight-ten miles, mostly around the lake
Time: Budget 3+ hours
Skill Rating = Moderate
Pace = 3 - 3½ miles per hour; intermediate to advanced hikers only please
Special Equipment = None needed, though walking poles might help
Food = As usual, we'll take several short stops to re-hydrate and grab something to eat, so please bring water and snacks
Kids/Pets = No pets please, but children that can keep the posted pace are encouraged to attend
Directions/Meeting Place: Take 85 North to 316 East for ~ 15 minutes. Turn left at Highway 81 (you'll see brown signs for the park). The park will be a couple minutes up the road on the right. Please continue past the regular entrance on 81, then take a quick right onto Lee St. Drive less than 1/2 mile, then park near the bottom of the hill by the ball fields. There is a secret trail that gets us into the park from there so you don't have to pay the parking fee. See you there by noon.
And Don't Forget:
We'll go to a local restaurant or brewery after the hike.
See you on the trail!
Charlie
