Join us on what looks to be a beautiful spring evening for the monthly Dupont ArtWalk. We’ll start at Hillyer in the alley behind the Phillips Collection as they celebrate the opening of the new exhibition *Modern Movements* organized in partnership with the Art Museum of the Americas – one of my favorite museums in DC. The exhibition will be on view during the months of April and May and will be held in all three galleries. From there (around 6:20) we’ll head to Studio Gallery and then the wonderful new Vika where Ram Brisueño, a Baltimore- based, self-taught collagist, opens his show. (That’s his artwork above.) His collage paintings use flowers blooming from, out of, and surrounding human figures to represent a halo-like presence of our best selves. From there we’ll have a choice between the Korean Cultural Center, The Washington Hilton, Dupont Underground and the Middle East Institute. Show people what you did That's what we'll be doing for this meeting. We'll briefly tell each other what we're going to do, then work on our projects, then at around 5:30 wrap up to show each other what we did and chat for a bit. Whether you're bringing a game you're trying to ship in a month, or you're just planning on following some tutorials or trying out a new tool to improve your skills, use this time to make progress. Join us for a volunteer day helping the animals at Rosie's Farm Sanctuary in Potomac, MD. Before attending this event, you must sign a liability waiver. You will be working on big projects that require many volunteers like removing old bedding, sanitizing stals and replacing with new bedding, along with the daily clean up chores. Please do not bring any food or yummy-smelling items on your body or in your bag as our animals love to eat and are on special diets.
