Knowing Who You Can Trust
Your survival depends on knowing who you can rely on. But how can you tell who your real friends are? How can you determine if a person will help make a joint venture successful?
Is there a way to predict behavior? Yes. There are fundamental elements to human behavior. When you know them you have insight into your fellow man, and just by observing how people act, you will know *everything* about them.
#### On this lecture you will learn:
* The important role of trust in human relationships.
* The Hubbard Chart of Human Evaluation—the tool to know true character and predict what people will do.
* How to evaluate others accurately and guarantee a more certain future for yourself and those you care about.
With the knowledge you learn on this course, you will have tools to know who you can trust and who you can depend on.
*“Trustworthiness is a highly esteemed commodity. When one has it, one is considered valuable. When one has lost it, one may be considered worthless.”*
*—L. Ron Hubbard*

Free Public Speaking Meeting - Kings Speakers
Sometimes the hardest part is just starting. This quote captures that beautifully.
“Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.”
St Francis of Assisi
**\- What our group is about**
Kings Speakers is a public speaking Toastmasters club which provides a relaxed and supportive environment for people who experience anxiety or fear when speaking in public. It offers the opportunity to practice in a safe space without judgement, helping you to build confidence and gradually overcome your fear of public speaking.
Our meetings take place on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (excluding public holidays) from 19:00 to 20:30. We gather on the first floor of the Windsor Castle pub, conveniently located near Victoria Station (nearest exit Cardinal Place).
**\- What we'll do at our events**
A typical meeting agenda includes prepared speeches, table topics (impromptu speaking), and evaluations.
**1\. Prepared Speeches:**
* Members prepare speeches in advance, following the guidelines of Toastmasters educational manuals.
* These speeches are typically between 5 and 15 minutes long.
* Members choose their own topics, but they often relate to the educational manuals.
**2\. Table Topics:**
* Table Topics is a segment focused on impromptu speaking.
* A designated Table Topics Master presents a topic, and members (and sometimes guests) volunteer to speak about it for a short period, usually 1-2 minutes.
**3\. Evaluations:**
* Evaluators, who are assigned to each speaker, provide constructive feedback on the prepared speeches.
* Evaluations typically include positive reinforcement, identification of strengths, and suggestions for improvement.
* This element is considered crucial for helping members refine their speaking skills.
**\- Who should join our group**
If you experience anxiety or stage fright when speaking in public, if simple conversations, meeting people, and everyday social interactions are a challenge, we can help you push your limits to beyond what you thought possible. Overcoming your fear is easier than you think.
You are welcome to come along to just observe without speaking or participating in any activity. You are also free to step into the spotlight during Table Topics to practice your impromptu speaking and boost your confidence!
Don't let fear hold you back - join us and become a confident and compelling speaker!
**\- Any dues or fees we plan to charge members**
Guests can attend 3 meetings for FREE.
After this, if you decide to become a member, the cost is £72 for 6 months (+£25 one off fee for new members) and includes access to **Pathways**. This structured program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to help you achieve specific communication and leadership goals. Continuing your journey through a Pathway will provide you with the tools and guidance necessary to reach your full potential. We expect from our members to select a Pathway. The six paths are:
* **Dynamic Leadership:** For those who want to build strategic leadership skills.
* **Engaging Humour:** To become a more humorous and engaging speaker.
* **Motivational Strategies:** Focuses on motivational leadership and communication.
* **Persuasive Influence:** Helps develop leadership skills in complex situations.
* **Presentation Mastery:** A path dedicated to honing public speaking skills.
* **Visionary Communication:** Geared toward developing communication skills for a variety of audiences.
To learn more about the Pathways, please visit
https://www.toastmasters.org/education/pathways
**\- The group's affiliation**
Kings Speakers is affiliated to **Toastmasters International**, a non-profit educational organisation that operates clubs worldwide to help people develop communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters International is a global network of clubs where members practice public speaking, gain confidence, and learn leadership skills through a learn-by-doing approach.

Saturday Acting Workshop - Coriolanus!
Following our critically acclaimed productions of OTHELLO, MACBETH and TWELFTH NIGHT the Acting gymnasium's Saturday workshop returns to Theatre Deli on Saturday 28th March with a new imagining of Shakepeare's CORIOLANUS. Plenty of superb roles available!!
WE WILL PERFORM THE SHOW FROM 6TH-11TH JULY AT NETWORK THEATRE WATERLOO.
Set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, Coriolanus, a fierce and proud Roman general, earns fame after defeating Rome’s enemies, especially at Corioli. Despite his military success, he despises the common people and refuses to flatter them for political gain. Urged to seek public office, his arrogance alienates citizens, leading to his banishment. In anger, he allies with his former enemy Aufidius and marches against Rome. As destruction looms, his mother, Volumnia, pleads with him to spare the city. Moved by her words, he relents, choosing honor over revenge. His decision saves Rome but seals his fate, as he is killed for betraying his allies in return.

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington.
The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo.
Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine.
We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you.
The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly.
Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome.
The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit.
Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times.
Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have.
Happy writing!

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for April is "Water"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!
