Creative Code Toronto meetup at InterAccess
Creative Code Toronto meetup at InterAccess
Join us for a Toronto meetup of creative coders! This will be a venue to get to know each other and see what's going on in the community. We'll have a space downtown and some food available. We're partnering with [InterAccess](https://interaccess.org), a gallery, educational facility, production studio, festival, and registered charity dedicated to new media and emerging practices in art and technology! * If you've got a project you've worked on in the past that you're proud of, we'd love to see it and for you to walk us through what went into it. * If you're currently working on something or investigating some new ideas and feel like sharing, this would be a great time discuss your process so far! * If you haven't done anything yet but are interested in creative coding, we'd love to see what works have inspired you. Sign up here if you're interested in speaking! [https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MsbtdvTGMNT75lqq4lnxydY4TczStAOZE1Ap8mQJKeM](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MsbtdvTGMNT75lqq4lnxydY4TczStAOZE1Ap8mQJKeM) **What is creative code?** *Creative coding* refers to anything with an artistic component that uses code as a medium. We welcome artists who use code (for visuals, audio, poetry, or whatever else), designers, animators, toolmakers, researchers, or just enjoyers and people looking to learn more! **Location:** InterAccess, at 32 Lisgar St. **Join our discord** if you want to talk to everyone before/after the event, or have any suggestions for things you'd like to see or do! Join us for an evening of discussion over diner and/or drinks, If you have a question about libertarianism, ask it and those nearby will want to offer answers. Or maybe you have an answer to someone else's question. Or someone makes a point you are interested in. That's how discussions get started. We usually have a dozen people at these Meetups.

Social Paint Night
Social Paint Night
We know you have a shelf of unpainted miniatures waiting to be brought to life, but might find it hard to start, stay motivated, or are afraid you'll make it look bad. Come out and paint with us! We'll be hosting a monthly social paint night to allow for folks to body double while painting. It's a great opportunity to meet new people, exchange painting tips and tricks, all while working through your backlog of models. This isn't just limited to miniatures either. Bring a canvas, some blank sneakers, or just some cash (and buy a mini at the store). Test out different paint brands from Acrylicos Vallejo, AK Interactive, The Army Painter, and Citadel Paints. A fee of $5+tax (to be paid at the event) applies to help cover the cost of some painting supplies that will be provided by the store. Hope to see you!

✨🌙 EXPLORE LUMIÈRE: THE ART OF LIGHT 🌙✨
✨🌙 EXPLORE LUMIÈRE: THE ART OF LIGHT 🌙✨
✨🌙 **EXPLORE LUMIÈRE: THE ART OF LIGHT** 🌙✨ An Outdoor Night Walk of Light, Art & Waterfront Vibes Let’s go chase some light. Join us for **Lumière: The Art of Light** (formerly the Winter Light Exhibition) in its beautiful new home at **Trillium Park**. This free outdoor exhibition transforms the park into an illuminated art experience, featuring works by Ontario artists who use light, innovation, and creativity to reimagine public space. This year’s curatorial theme is *“Renewal”* — celebrating the shift from winter into spring, longer days, and that subtle feeling that something new is beginning. There’s something magical about walking by the water at night, surrounded by glowing installations and good company. It’s reflective. It’s playful. It’s very Toronto. 👉 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) \*\*\* 🌉 The Plan We’ll meet at the iconic **Princes' Gates**, then walk together over to Trillium Park. We’ll spend about an hour exploring the installations at a relaxed pace — taking photos, chatting, and soaking it in. Afterward, we’ll continue the evening with food and drinks by the waterfront. Most likely we’ll head to **Shoeless Joe's Sports Grill** along Queens Quay. We’ll hop on the TTC streetcar for a few stops to get there. Art first. Social second. Best of both worlds. \*\*\* 🧥 What to Bring This is an outdoor nighttime event — please dress properly. * Warm coat * Hat & gloves * Warm boots or sturdy shoes * Something warm to drink Comfort = enjoyment. \*\*\* 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: In front of the Princes’ Gates 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 7:45 PM ❗ I will only wait 10 minutes Please arrive on time so we can walk over together. \*\*\* 💰 Cost Explore Lumière: FREE 🎉 🎟️ **Meetup Fee:** $5 cash in person **or** e-transfer to 📧 \*\*[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com**](http://mathewmaclean@hotmail.com%2A%2A/) This fee helps support the group and allows us to keep hosting events like this. Thank you for supporting community! 💖 \*\*\* 🌈 Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social and make friends — whether single or not. We also host: 🎬 Movies 🚶 Walks & hikes 🎭 Arts & culture outings 🍽️ Restaurant gatherings You’re always welcome. And remember — you can just show up on the day if you’re unsure about your schedule. \*\*\* ⏳ Leaving Time You’re free to head out at any time — after the lights, after dinner, whenever works for you. \*\*\* ⚠️ A Gentle Reminder Sometimes circumstances change and events may need to be canceled — please keep an eye on updates. \*\*\* 👤 Organizer: Mathew Questions? Post on the event wall or email 📧 [torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com](mailto:torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com) Come for the glow. Stay for the waterfront energy. Leave feeling like you stepped into a little pocket of light in the middle of the city. Winter fades. Spring hints. And Toronto lights up. ✨
🌳☕ ST. CLAIR WEST VILLAGE WALK, WYCHWOOD PARK & COFFEE ☕🌳
🌳☕ ST. CLAIR WEST VILLAGE WALK, WYCHWOOD PARK & COFFEE ☕🌳
🌳☕ **ST. CLAIR WEST VILLAGE WALK, WYCHWOOD PARK & COFFEE** ☕🌳 Hidden Streets, Storybook Homes & A Cozy Café Finish Some parts of Toronto feel like you’ve accidentally stepped into another world. Join us for a relaxed social walk through **St. Clair West**, leading into the quietly tucked-away and exclusive **Wychwood Park** — one of the city’s most unique residential enclaves. Wychwood Park is private, residential, and unlike anywhere else in Toronto. The homes are all architecturally distinct — no cookie-cutter builds here — and living there involves a waiting list, a board approval process, and community guidelines that preserve its character. It feels almost village-like… peaceful, artistic, and slightly secret. This is not a formal historical tour. It’s a social walk with beautiful surroundings and good conversation. 👉 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) \*\*\* 🚶‍♂️ **What We’ll Do** We’ll begin by walking west along St. Clair, enjoying the neighbourhood energy before heading into Wychwood Park for a gentle wander through its winding streets. Afterward, we’ll make a short stop at **Artscape Wychwood Barns** to peek into the market space, next we make a quick stop at Mr. Binz where everything starts at $25 and after we will head to **Bakery Garden Cafe** for a warm drink and time to sit, chat, and connect. Sometimes the best part of the walk is the pause at the end. ☕ We’ll eventually make our way back toward St. Clair Subway Station. You’re welcome to leave at any time. \*\*\* ❄️ **Weather & Expectations** Please do not sign up if you’re not ready to walk in real winter conditions. This event will happen in snow, cold, or typical Toronto winter weather. The only exception: if temperatures reach -20°C, the event will be canceled. Bundle up. Dress properly. This is a winter walk. Also — this is NOT a historical tour. I’ll share context casually, but the focus is social connection and enjoying the neighbourhood. \*\*\* 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: Outside the station by McDonald’s 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 11:00 AM I will only wait 5 minutes. Early is on time. On time is late. We will leave promptly, and I won’t be able to spend time trying to track people down — thank you for respecting everyone’s time. \*\*\* 🎟️ **Meetup Fee:** $5 cash in person **or** e-transfer to 📧 \*\*[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com**](http://mathewmaclean@hotmail.com%2A%2A/) This fee helps support the group and allows us to keep hosting events like this. Thank you for supporting community! 💖 \*\*\* 🎒 What to Bring * Water or a warm drink * Good walking shoes * A small snack * Warm clothing (boots, hat, gloves — layers!) * Mask (if you prefer for indoor stops) Please also use the washroom before arriving, as stops are limited. \*\*\* 📚 Learn More Interested in reading more about Wychwood Park before we go [Click Here](https://www.thestar.com/news/insight/2012/12/21/inside_the_weird_world_of_wychwood_park.html)? 🌈 Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social and make friends — whether single or not. We also host: 🎬 Movies 🚶 Walks & hikes 🎭 Arts & culture outings 🍽️ Restaurant gatherings There’s always something happening. \*\*\* REMEMBER: You’re welcome to just show up on the day if you’re unsure about your schedule. And as always, sometimes plans shift and events may need to be canceled — please keep an eye on updates. \*\*\* 👤 Organizer: Mathew Questions? Post on the event wall or email 📧 [torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com](mailto:torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com) Come for the hidden streets. Stay for the cozy coffee. Leave feeling like you discovered a pocket of the city most people never see. There’s something special about wandering somewhere that feels quietly exclusive — especially when you’re not wandering alone. 🌳✨
Toronto Sunrise Timelapse from Wards Island
Toronto Sunrise Timelapse from Wards Island
Join us Sunday, March 15th for a sunrise timelapse session from Wards Island with a view facing the Toronto skyline. We will meet inside the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and take the first ferry to Wards Island at **6:30 AM sharp**. Please arrive early to purchase your ferry ticket and meet inside the terminal so we can board together. Important: **Daylight Saving Time begins that morning**, so clocks move forward overnight. Plan for the morning: – Meet inside the ferry terminal before 6:15 AM – Board the 6:30 ferry to Wards Island – Walk to our shooting location facing the Toronto skyline – Set up cameras and tripods – Capture a sunrise timelapse as the sun rises behind the city Tripods are highly recommended for timelapse photography. If you don’t have a tripod, you are still welcome to join and capture handheld photos. What to bring: – Camera – Tripod (recommended) – Fully charged batteries – Warm clothing Weather permitting event. If skies are completely overcast, the event may be cancelled as sunrise visibility will be limited. This is a collaborative, beginner-friendly photography meetup.
