PCE Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE - "Philosophic Conversation in English" is a discussion event in English language which focuses on psychology, philosophy, self-consciousness and self-realization. The conversation is based on inclusive discussion rules. We will meet at at a restaurant where we will sit in the outdoor area. At the beginning we will choose the two topics to discuss. Everybody can suggest a topic. Afterwards we will vote what topics to discuss. The person who suggests a winning topic will start the discussion by explaining his/her idea. Afterwards everybody gets his/her chance to make a statement. But you can also decide to remain silent and only listen, if you prefer that. We have a time limit for statements, so that everybody has enough time to speak. It is not allowed to interrupt somebody who is speaking. After a statement everybody can ask a question and the speaker will answer. After the first part there will be a 15 minutes break before we start the second part. Everybody is welcome to our event: We are interested in your thoughts and opinions! It is no problem if you arrive late and you can also leave whenever you want. Please don't bring pets to this event because the room is usually very crowded. Please make sure to register for the event to secure your seat! Please check out last event's topics via this link: [http://pce-topic.project-website.org](http://pce-topic.project-website.org/)

"living immutable: painless Java Records" + "Zero-Deps Java AI Business Agents"
"living immutable: painless Java Records" + "Zero-Deps Java AI Business Agents"
Agenda: 18:00 Doors open 18:20 welcome - doors closing 18:30 "living immutable: working with Java Records the painless way" - Georgios Angelopoulos \~ 19:00/19:15 break/networking \~ 19:30/19:45 Zero-Dependency **Java 25+ AI Business Agents**: Running locally with zsmith and LightMetal - Adam Bien **living immutable: working with Java Records the painless way** Java Records are great for immutability, but updating deeply nested structures usually means dealing with a headache of nested constructors and endless *.withX()* chains. This talk covers how to skip the boilerplate using Telescope, a lightweight Java library designed for painless deep updates. We will dive into: * The ergonomic pain points of nested Java Records. * Using Telescope's fluent DSL for surgical, zero-boilerplate updates * Applying these same clean immutability patterns to legacy POJOs. **About Georgios Angelopoulos** I am a Lead Developer at Prewave with a background in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My experience and interests cover the entire computing spectrum, solving problems at every layer of the stack. **Zero-Dependency Java 25+ Business Agents: Running locally with zsmith and LightMetal** Modern Java provides all the functionality required for local LLM inference and agent orchestration, eliminating the need for external dependencies. LightMetal directly binds Llama.cpp from Java using the **Foreign Function and Memory API (FFM)**, eliminating the need for JNI or native wrappers. It runs open models such as **Mistral, Gemma, and Llama** on your machine. Zsmith is built on LightMetal and uses the Boundary-Control-Entity (BCE) model to structure agents. It loads tools and skills as ServiceLoader plugins and runs tool calls and streaming on Virtual Threads. Local inference and remote models work with the same agent code over the JDK's HttpClient. Topics: \- One\-line installation\, no build tools\, no package managers \- FFM in practice: calling native libraries without JNI \- Running Mistral\, Gemma and Llama locally in pure Java \- ServiceLoader as a plugin mechanism for tools and skills \- BCE applied to AI agents \- Virtual Threads for streaming\, tool calls and parallel inference \- Switching between local and remote models without changing the agent \- Plain JDK: HttpClient\, records\, sealed types and pattern matching \- Packaging agents as single\-file Java applications Everything is demonstrated live with code. Your questions are highly welcome — the more, the better! **About Adam Bien** Entwickler, Consultant, manchmal Konferenzsprecher, Autor und Java / Jakarta (SE/EE) / MicroProfile Enthusiast.

Come As You Are – An Outdoor Evening for Mind, Body & Good Company 🌿
Come As You Are – An Outdoor Evening for Mind, Body & Good Company 🌿
Some things are best begun simply - Outside, together, with no rush. This evening is an open invitation – **for anyone who feels drawn to nature, to self-care, to understanding their body a little better, or simply to spending time with people who think along similar lines.** No experience needed. Just curiosity. If you've ever found yourself wanting to slow down, reconnect, or simply be around people who get it – this is that kind of evening. A space for people who are quietly looking for the same thing, even if they can't quite name it yet. And it's also where **The Art of Inner Balance** takes root – a workshop series growing from exactly this: nature, mindfulness, and the wisdom our bodies already carry. *** **What to expect** We'll ease into the evening with a **guided breathing exercise** – nothing complicated, just a few minutes to arrive, settle, and feel the difference when you do. From there, something a little more sensory: a **scent journey** through a handful of essential oils – a small glimpse into the world of natural wellness and what our senses can tell us when we actually listen. The rest of the evening is simply being together- sharing, asking questions, and enjoying the kind of conversation that's hard to find elsewhere. *** **When:** Thursday, 2nd July 2026 – from 6pm **Where:** Meet at **U1 Donauinsel** – we'll find a nice spot in the grass from there **Cost:** Free – donations welcome 🙏 *** **What to bring:** * A blanket to sit on * A hoodie – the mosquitoes will show up too 😄 * Something to drink *** This evening is free to attend. Any donations go towards the materials and little experiences that make evenings like this possible. Come as you are. See you there. 🌿
