Wir treffen uns jeden Donnerstag in Kreuzkölln - es gibt Snacks, Getränke, nette Leute und jede Woche ein neues Thema, zu dem wir uns austauschen. The question, “Does the Starry Hour have something to do with poetry? It doesn’t say anything about poetry...” was put to me. Well yes, poets often reference the stars, as far as I’m aware, which is a direction into astronomy, or even a gentle encouragement that we should keep our heads up and maintain our wellbeing. For example, the poet Philip Larkin in the poem ‘The North Ship’, in the first poem, tells with hwyl, “Under an fire-spilling star,”. For Poetry & Puls there is the context of the starry sky above us, as when we have no knowledge of astronomy we can’t read the poetry. Since we are interested in reading poetry, Starry Hours are good. Knowledge of the stars is also good for people on the move, and we like to often be on the move. Mir wurde die Frage gestellt „Hat die Sternstunde etwas mit Poetry zu tun? Da steht nichts von Poetry...“ Naja, Dichter nehmen oft Bezug auf die Sterne, glaube ich. Das ist eine Weisung in die Astronomie, halt einen Vorschlag, dass man den Kopf hochhalten und aufrechterhalten solle. Zum Beispiel, der Dichter Philip Larkin im Gedicht ‚The North Ship‘, im ersten Gedicht, erzählt „Under a fire-spilling star,“. Für Poetry gibt es die Umgebung von den Sternen, und wenn man keine Kenntnis von dieser Umgebung hat, kann man die Gedichte nicht ganz gut lesen. **Unsere Stammtisch is wieder da!** Komm zu unserem Monozukuri-Stammtisch für Deutsch-Japanisch! Jeden Monat gibt es den thematischen Brettspielabend an dem wir vorwiegend etwas längere Kennerspiele zu einem bestimmten Thema spielen werden. Etwas Erfahrung mit Brettspielen solltet ihr deshalb schon mitbringen. Ein paar Spiele bringen wir immer mit, ihr seid aber gerne dazu eingeladen eure eigenen Lieblingsspiele mitzubringen. Falls ihr keine eigenen Spiele besitzt, gibt es mittlerweile in allen städtischen Bibliotheken eine gute Spieleauswahl. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change.
