Women Writing FREE Workshop for Awakening ✨
Reclaim your story through the art of noticing. This isn’t a formal class, but a cozy playground for your memories and journey.
AWDPI Events | Writing Workshop with Wenhan
✨ Writing as Awakening ✨
No writing experience is required, just bring a relaxed heart and a curiosity for the "small things" that make us who we are.
What to Expect 🍊
We’ll start with playful games to build confidence before diving into sensory writing, using the scent and texture of an orange to spark raw, honest prose. You’ll reflect on your journey, reimagine your life through the lens of mythology, and write a heartfelt letter to your past self. Through movement or spoken word, we’ll then transform these reflections into a shared experience, creating a safe space where our stories can truly breathe.
The Facilitator
Wenhan (MA, RCSSD) is an Applied Theatre practitioner who has led community workshops across London, Singapore, and China. A "grounded idealist" and self-proclaimed Short Rib Cooking Master, she blends professional expertise with warm energy to help you find your voice.
📅 Date: Friday, 15 May 2026
📍 Location: 65 Aldwych, London, WC2B 4DS (Detailed address will be provided after registration)
⌚️Time: 18:00 - 20:00 (GMT+1), Check-in start 17:40
🎫 Free Entry!
After you sign in, we will send you the email for more information!
🎭 One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
£25 tickets. A culture-based meet-up around the new London adaptation of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, featuring Aaron Pierre & Giles Terera
The play explores themes of authority, conformity, freedom of thought, and resistance to imposed systems. It raises questions about who gets to define “normal,” and what happens when you challenge dominant narratives.
There are only 4 tickets as the play is now sold out. We can also grab a drink or food nearby before or after.

Sketchbook: Barbican
Let's sketch The Barbican, a brutalist masterpiece full of loads of twisty turns and a magnificent church. Let's meet outside the Barbican tube station at 1pm.
Completely free of charge, no need to sign up, bring a friend! Feel free to drop in for the whole two hours or just short while if you'd prefer. Look for the tall ginger fella sketching away as the central meetup spot, but feel free to roam as far and wide as you like and sketch anything you damn well please!
Please bring your own sketchbooks and pens/pencils.
The plan will be to meet at 1pm, sketch for a couple of hours and meet back and chat at 3pm. There are plenty of places around to grab coffee or a bite to eat, hopefully the weather is good so we'll be able to sit outside but if not we could consider ducking into a cafe.

No payment, no pressure, no need to sign up, just show up and draw for a couple of hours. All levels, abilities and professions welcome, bring a friend!
Zero pressure to interact, network, impress in any way, this is just a way to get out and about and appreciate the joy of urban sketching and all the weird and wonderful creatures that inhabit this thriving metropolis.
I am a storyboard artist working in animation and I am happy to discuss sketching techniques or give feedback on any work but this is by no means an exclusive event for artists, all are welcome :)

***‘Tim - It’s like freshers week, every week, but better, with bands and stuff…’***
and that’s how it’s been over the last 7 years since we created this group. It’s honestly the most fun we’ve had and I’m inviting everyone of you because something’s been happening for a while now and you just don’t know about it…It’s a Showcase of some of the Best London bands playing their music in London - and it’s also a MEETUP group, so you can watch the gig with a mix of regular members and newcomers. Feel free to come on your own or bring your friends and meet new people. Look for the ‘MEETUP SIGN’ or ask the Host on the Door when you arrive. It’s an awesome line-up and at one of the Top Venues in London - Great place for a beer, meet new people and see some amazing unsigned bands! 🔥🔥🚒🍻
