 Budokon Yoga, created by Cameron Shayne, is a unique style that blends traditional yoga with martial arts and animal locomotion. It emphasizes slow, controlled movements, transitions between postures, and a strong focus on core strength and body awareness. The practice aims to improve flexibility, mobility, strength, and cardiovascular fitness, while also fostering mental focus and mindfulness 
During this class I will introduce you to different movements flow, through these movements, we workout, stretch and create our flow together. A good way to enjoy this beautiful weather and understand our body.

In this 1‑hour class, we practice gentle stretching and Hatha yoga with mindful breathing, focusing on basic poses, clear alignment and slow, steady movement. The pace is beginner‑friendly, with options to go deeper if you already have some experience, and the goal is to leave you feeling calmer, lighter and more connected to your body. I didn’t grow up with a sports background, and my body is naturally quite stiff and not very coordinated – that’s exactly why yoga has been so helpful for me. It gave me a gentle way to start moving, and over time it’s helped me build flexibility, mobility and strength in a way that feels kind and sustainable. If you feel stiff, out of practice or nervous about joining a class, you’re very welcome here – this session is designed with beginners and “not‑so‑sporty” people in mind. **This class is for you if you:** ● Are new to yoga or returning after a break ● Want a simple movement routine without a gym/studio membership ● Prefer small, relaxed groups and a supportive atmosphere ● Are local or travelling and want to enjoy the waterfront with mindful exercise **About the instructor – Sophia Chu** Sophia is a 200‑hour certified yoga teacher and practicing landscape architect with experience in hospitality design, giving her a strong eye for space, atmosphere and how nature and cities shape how we feel. She is also a landscape architecture lecturer, used to guiding groups step by step and helping beginners feel at ease. Originally from Taiwan, she has lived abroad for over two decades, teaches fluently in English and Chinese, and welcomes people from all backgrounds. Since 2021 she has run the social Meetup group Wondering Wanderer and leads yoga sessions with FitFam Hong Kong, creating comfortable spaces for people to move, relax and connect. **Class fee** Free event – no payment required. ☆ This April class is offered as a community introduction session so you can try Wellness Wonder’s outdoor yoga, meet the group, and share feedback before we start regular paid classes later in the year. **What to bring / wear** ● Your own yoga mat ● Small towel (optional) ● Comfortable clothing you can move in Mats for newcomers (first come, first served): ● 1 soft foam mat (very beginner‑friendly) ● 1 thin rubber mat (more grip for those with some experience) ☆ Please message in advance if you need to borrow a mat. **Meeting point** Wood deck by the waterfront in Tamar Park. Aloha Dear Friends! Welcome to the Kowloon Mindfulness Community. Together we explore and practice mindfulness to learn how to live in the present moment. We hope to cultivate a safe space for people to try mindfulness practices such as meditation, mindful walking, and tea ceremony. ​The meeting location is at [Sacred Space Therapy and Wellness studio](https://maps.app.goo.gl/5wUBXwXE7zrZZaXu7) at Lai Chi Kok (Exit Lai Chi Kok MTR D2, go into Great Wall Factory Building. We are on the 9th Floor, Unit B5). We meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Meetings are in English (sorry, no Cantonese translation unless someone is willing to do so). It is free to join though we ask for donations, which help us cover costs and keep it open to the public. **Location:** Kowloon **Duration:** 90 Minutes **Difficulty:** Accessible to ALL (Self-paced intensity) *** **The Mission** In the world of first responders, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." While high-intensity training gets the glory, **Zone 2 Heart Rate training** is the silent engine that powers human performance. This session, hosted by **TacticalFitnessHK**, is designed to build your aerobic base—the foundation that allows you to recover faster, stay calm under pressure, and sustain physical output for longer durations without burning out. ### What to Expect This is not a "balls-to-the-wall" sprint session. We are training for **longevity and resilience**. * **Briefing (10 mins):** We’ll start with a short talk from our founders (local first responders) on why aerobic capacity is critical for emergency preparedness and mental clarity. * **The "Talk Test" Jog/Walk (60 mins):** We will move as a group in Kowloon. The goal is to keep your heart rate between **60-70% of your maximum**. You should be able to hold a full conversation—this is where the community building happens! * **Knowledge Share & Cool Down (20 mins):** We’ll wrap up with light mobility work and a Q&A session on emergency kits, situational awareness, and staying "ready" in an urban environment like Hong Kong. *** ### Why Zone 2? For first responders and prepared citizens alike, Zone 2 training: 1. **Improves Mitochondrial Efficiency:** Teaches your body to burn fat as a primary fuel source. 2. **Enhances Recovery:** Helps clear lactate faster after high-intensity bursts. 3. **Protects the "Soul":** Lower-intensity steady-state movement is proven to reduce cortisol (stress) and improve mental health. ### Who Should Join? **Everyone.** While we are founded by first responders to support the frontline assets, we believe a resilient city requires a resilient community. **Hike: Tai Po Kau Forest Hike (Yellow Trail 10 km & Blue Trail 4 km)** **Difficulty Level:** 3 out of 5 **Distance:** 14 km (approximate) **Time:** 5 hours (approximate) **Description:** Join us for an exciting day at Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve, where we’ll hike a total of 14 kilometers by combining the yellow trail and the blue trail. The yellow trail covers 10 kilometers and takes you deep into a vibrant subtropical forest. You’ll walk beneath a beautiful canopy of banyan and camphor trees that create a calming green atmosphere. After completing the yellow trail, we’ll tackle the blue trail, a 4-kilometer loop that’s perfect for getting up close with the reserve’s diverse plant and animal life. Both trails offer a chance to spot various birds and enjoy the peaceful surroundings away from the city. **What to bring:** * 2-3 liters of water (water available for sale along the way) * Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc) * Comfortable shoes * Sunglasses * Headgear (cap/hat) * Sunscreen * Bug Spray * In case of Rain: plan accordingly **Toilets:** The Tai Wai MTR station will have a toilet before you exit the turnstalls. **Stores:** The Tai Wai MTR station will have stores for you to buy any last minute items. It is best to come prepared with water and snacks. **Meeting Point:** Tai Wai MTR - B. Once everyone arrives, we'll take bus 72A and alight at Chung Tsai Yuen. If everyone agrees for the faster option, we can opt to take a taxi to the trailhead. **Time:** 10:00 am (SHARP!) **IMPORTANT:** Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will only be able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes. Should you arrive after 10:05 am, I will no longer be answering phone calls or responding to messages as I need to give my time and attention to those that have arrived on time.

Before the comedy crawl, we’re starting Tuesday with **Two for Tuesdays**: a casual **social walk** designed to get people off the couch, **out of the house,** and actually doing something. This is a relaxed group walk at a **social pace,** covering roughly **2–3 miles**. Nothing intense. No pressure. Just good conversation, a little movement, and a **better way to spend your Tuesday** than sitting at home **scrolling your phone.** Then **after the walk,** we roll right into the **comedy crawl.** This is what makes the night better: you don’t just show up for one event, awkwardly stand around, then leave. You actually get time to **meet people,** loosen up, and **feel part of something** before the comedy even starts. **Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!** **We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind.** **If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward at Prost Beer and Wine Cafe.
