Wellness Wonder: Taekwondo Forms @Tamar Park
Curious about martial arts but donβt know where to start? Join us for an outdoor Taekwondo Forms session led by **Sophian Ben**, a French Taekwondo practitioner who teaches in English, Mandarin and basic Cantonese. This class focuses on forms (patterns) β coordinated sequences of movements that build strength, balance, focus and body awareness. No sparring, no pressure, just a friendly space to move, learn and have fun.
Whether you are a complete beginner or you have some martial arts experience, you are welcome. The pace will be gentle and progressive, with attention to posture, breathing and mindful movement. Think of it as a moving meditation plus a light workout.

β Short warmβup and joint mobilization
β Introduction to basic Taekwondo stances, blocks, kicks and hand techniques
β Learning and repeating simple forms (patterns) step by step
β Short coolβdown and stretch, with time for questions and sharing

Sophian is a French martial arts enthusiast with years of Taekwondo practice and teaching experience. He speaks French, Spanish, English and Mandarin, and can give simple cues in Cantonese, so international and local participants can all follow along.

In the world of first responders, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." While high-intensity training gets the glory, **Zone 2 Heart Rate training** is the silent engine that powers human performance.
This session, hosted by **TacticalFitnessHK**, is designed to build your aerobic baseβthe foundation that allows you to recover faster, stay calm under pressure, and sustain physical output for longer durations without burning out.
### What to Expect
This is not a "balls-to-the-wall" sprint session. We are training for **longevity and resilience**.
* **Briefing (10 mins):** Weβll start with a short talk from our founders (local first responders) on why aerobic capacity is critical for emergency preparedness and mental clarity.
* **The "Talk Test" Jog/Walk (60 mins):** We will move as a group in Kowloon. The goal is to keep your heart rate between **60-70% of your maximum**. You should be able to hold a full conversationβthis is where the community building happens!
* **Knowledge Share & Cool Down (20 mins):** Weβll wrap up with light mobility work and a Q&A session on emergency kits, situational awareness, and staying "ready" in an urban environment like Hong Kong.

I am yoga instructor Sophia. As a new yoga teacher (200 YTT certified), Iβm excited to share the practice of stretching and Hatha Yoga with others, guiding you through mindful breath and purposeful movement. Weβll explore foundational poses, gentle alignment, and slow, steady stretches that honor your body's limits while inviting greater flexibility and balance. My intention is to create a supportive space where we practice together, learn from each other, and cultivate calm, focus, and presence both on and off the mat. Whether youβre new to yoga or returning after a pause, weβll move at a comfortable pace, listen to our bodies, and celebrate small progress as we grow.

Join us for 2 loops of the 1.1 mile trail surrounding Civic Park In Reynoldsburg this Thursday (5/7) at 6:30 pm. This is a fully paved trail so no worries about mud after a rainy week. Just come and get some exercise while connecting with others.
Mindful Photography Walk β A Gentle Pause in Nature
Join me for a small, mindful photography walk in nature. (**NOTE Time is 9:00 AM EST(Meetup is having technical Issue))**
This is a slow, intentional gathering β not focused on fitness or perfect photography β but on simply pausing, observing, and being present.
Weβll walk at a gentle pace, with moments of quiet, and a few light prompts to help you notice details you might normally miss.

**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started β but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.

A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.

**Expect a laid-back** But an Intentional 1 hour walk (2-3 miles), good people, and a better way to spend your Tuesday than staying home and doing the same thing you always do.
