**We are in the function room on the first floor, the door that leads upstairs is next to the fireplace.** Please ensure you read these: [Rules](https://www.londononboard.com/rules-regulations) We don't allow Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly, Roleplaying games, Magic the Gathering, Mafia, Werewolf etc. at LoB as there are other venues or groups for that and we want to make sure that there is enough space for board games. We want everyone that comes to our events to have a good time, and we know that some games require more communication than others. Please be mindful that we are in a small space and that other members will need to explain rules and focus. As a small group of volunteers, we are very dependent on the good will of our venues to host us for free. It is vitally important that everyone attending LoB buys food and drink to ensure that we can build and maintain those relationships with our venues. If you have any feedback about the venue, please report it to us directly rather than speaking to the staff. You must only attend if you have a place, i.e. that you have made it off the waitlist. If you can no longer attend, please mark your RSVP as ‘Not Going’, ideally more than an hour before the event starts. Please be aware that an organiser may ask to see proof of RSVP.

We'll be meeting to play games. Invitation open to all members and drop ins. No need to bring your own games as there are always options from other members but please do so if there's something you're interested in playing. Some longer games we've played recently include Eclipse, Brass Birmingham, Hansa Teutonica, Hegemony and Inis. But we've also played medium/light games like Heat, Flamme Rouge, Fallout and Acquire. Plus some short card games like Lords of Scotland, Skull King and Seas of Strife. We generally get started playing games at 7:30. You can park at the pub for free if you validate at the bar and there may also be space on nearby streets. Attending members will be asked to pay £1 per Meetup (card/contactless only) to the club organisers. The fee helps pay for our Meetup subscription and venue memberships.

A laid-back lunchtime of friendly chess in the charming surroundings of Russell Square, Bloomsbury (or in The Atrium Cafe of The Imperial Hotel across the road, if it rains). Whether you're new in town and looking to meet new people, craving some social games, or live/work/study nearby, all are welcome. Chess sets are available to borrow, and there are optional food/drinks from the cafe next to the chess tables. Please don't bring outside food/drinks (other than water), and buy something if you use a cafe table (no need when using the chess tables, which have boards printed on them). This will be a hosted event - if you're the first to arrive, you'll see your host sitting at one of the chess tables with a chess set. We'll be returning next to the Civil Service Club that is moments from Trafalgar Square. Social & Fun Backgammon at the CSC Whether you're a seasoned backgammoner or a newbie looking to learn this fabulous game that is thousands of years old, our social event is open to all. This is the perfect opportunity to sharpen your game, and share a laugh (or a lucky double six!) over backgammon. Add in a drink, maybe dinner, and you’ve got the recipe for a fun and relaxed evening. Venue Food and Drink Just a little reminder that when we use the Civil Service Club, we’re asked to buy at least one drink whilst we’re there, and hopefully food too. About our backgammon social group Our group has been running for nearly 11 years since June 2015 and we have held nearly 500 official backgammon meetings - along with a further 300 off-grid (non meetups) since then. We are the largest backgammon group in the UK with nearly 2,500 backgammoners as members. What makes our group special are its members and the warmth, humour and friendliness whilst playing this splendid social game over a few drinks... usually fortnightly, and on a Sunday. We have about 30-odd regular members who play socially and we very much welcome new players too - so do come along. Dinner Time and Drinks and Food In between the rounds of backgammon many of us sit for a meal around 6pm, but you can order drinks and food whenever you like. RSVP Please RSVP asap - Often I need to provide the Club with an indication of numbers. Bring your own Backgammon Board - no problem if initially you don't have one. Love seeing the different styles and size of boards - my boards have somehow gotten larger over the years.
