Litter Pick - Catford/Ladywell - Waterlink Way (SE London)
Litter Pick - Catford/Ladywell - Waterlink Way (SE London)
Join the Eco Around Community for a litter-pick walk from Catford to Ladywell along the Waterlink Way, facilitated by Biljana. Waterlink Way connects several parks and green spaces in Lewisham borough, following the Pool and Raversbourne rivers. It stretches 8 miles from South Northwood Country Park to the Cutty Sark ship in Greenwich. Considered one of South London’s hidden gems, it not only provides an enjoyable route to walkers and cyclists, but it also improves habitats for aquatic wildlife. While maintained by Lewisham Council, contributing to the Waterlink Way’s extra clear-up would be much appreciated. **When:** Saturday, 27 June, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm **Where:** We’ll start from Halfords in Catford and make our way under the Catford Bridge, entering the Ladywell Fields. Following the Ravensbourne River, along the Waterlink Way, we’ll finish the walk exiting on the Ladywell Rd. Use the What3Words navigation below to see the exact meeting points. Start: what3words: [///dash.liver.flip](https://w3w.co/dash.liver.flip) Finish: what3words: ///[legal.brass.tigers](https://w3w.co/legal.brass.tigers) We are planning to have some optional drinks/food afterwards. **How to dress and what to bring:** Appropriate footwear, no open-toed shoes and we recommend some waterproofs (just in case). We have some gloves, bin bags and litter pickers but feel free to bring your own and a refillable water bottle in case you get thirsty. Hand Sanitiser is also useful. **Updates:** Unless there is a heavy rain forecast, we will stick to our plans. Please check the event for updates. **Photo Consent:** We plan to take general pictures and a group picture to document the activity and help us promote future online events. If you wish not to be in the pictures, let us know.

Ultimate Frisbee in *HAGGERSTON Park* on Saturday afternoons
Ultimate Frisbee Pickup! All experience welcome! Main details: • For first-timers: you're very welcome, no experience necessary, we can teach you the rules and how to play. You just need a willingness to run around a LOT! Bring trainers (or cleats/football boots) and clothes you can run in and plenty of water • Please try to bring both a light top and a dark top as this makes splitting into balanced teams easier • Throwing from 2:00pm ish, we'll kick off a friendly pick-up game around 2:15. It's fine if you can only make it later on - we play with substitutes so you can join in at any point. If no one is there when you arrive, don't worry, people are probably just late! If the meetup is not cancelled, frisbee will be happening! • Afterwards we always head to a pub garden and have a drink or two :) • Frisbee is a non-contact sport, but the occasional bumps can happen, we're all playing at our own risk

K&J culture Picnic @ Primrose Hill 🍙🍰☀️
K&J culture Picnic @ Primrose Hill 🍙🍰☀️
Join us for a relaxed afternoon picnic with delicious food and great conversations! Whether you're a regular or joining us for the first time, everyone's welcome! 🌳 **Where to Find Us** We’ll be gathering in our usual spot, under the Shakespeare Oak at Primrose Hill. **What to Bring** To make this a fun communal vibe, we reccomend bringing a snack or drink to share. While **any** food is welcome, it would be great to see some Korean or Japanese inspired treats! e.g. Onigiri, Kimbap, Mochi... 🍙🥢 If you can bring a picnic blanket, or anything else that might be useful at a picnic, that would be really helpful. Unfortunately BBQ's are not allowed in the park. **Who Can Join?** Everyone with an interest in Korean & Japanese culture is welcome. Our events have a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. There's usually a mix of newcomers and regulars who will make you feel welcome. 🌤 **Weather** Fingers crossed for good weather. We can handle a light shower, but if it rains heavily we'll move to a pub nearby. I'll leave a comment here if we decide to move. Let’s leave no litter behind, and create some great memories together!
Canal Walk - Angel to Victoria Park Cafe / Market
Canal Walk - Angel to Victoria Park Cafe / Market
We will enjoy a leisurely walk (approx 45 mins - 1 hour) along Regent's Canal from Angel station and ending at the fabulous Victoria Park Market. This event usually runs on the 4th Sunday of each month, unless there is bad weather or exceptional circumstances. We are a welcoming group, so feel free to mix around and say hello other people. There is a wondering food market in Victoria Park, and most of us will get something to eat together. We usually sit on the grass or public benches (if available) near the Bonner Gate entrance, behind the Dogs of Alcibiades statue. This is at the intersection of foodstalls running north/south and east/west. If it is raining or the market is closed, we can either go to the Pavillion cafe, or The Crown pub on Grove Road instead. Please note a few points: 1\. There is currently no charge for this group\. I will need to review this again later in 2026\. 2\. WE WILL WAIT ONLY ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER THE START TIME\. If you are running late\, please catch us up along the canal\. Please note\, I will not be checking for meetup or whatsapp messages after the walk starts\. 3\. The nearest tube station to Victoria Park is Bethnal Green station \(central line\)\. Please check Google Maps or similar\. 4\. You are responsible for yourselves on the walk\, so please bring appropriate footwear etc\. Please be mindful of those around you\, especially where the canal gets narrow in places\. Whatsapp group here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/IJd6MJfVDPC6jUw6iW77ZY Previously, there was a separate walk on the 3rd Sunday of the month, which started at Limehouse Basin, and then ran along the same canal to Victoria Park. Please note, the walks starting from Limehouse on the 3rd Sunday of the month are now cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Guided Forest Bathing @ THCP
Guided Forest Bathing @ THCP
**Introduction** In our busy city, it can be difficult to find time to slow down and smell the roses! Forest bathing offers you the chance to do just that. Over the course of 2 hours, you will be guided through a multi-sensory exploration of the natural world, giving you time to slow down, breathe, and find peace among the natural world. **What is forest bathing?** Forest bathing typically consists of slow walking, mindfulness practices, and resting (seated or lying down) in nature. Remember being a kid and just watching the branches overhead in the breeze? Originating in Japan in the 1980s, Shin-Rin Yoku or forest bathing, was created as a preventative response to climbing rates of stress in urban areas. Since then, many research studies have shown that even one hour a week spent engaging with nature can significantly reduce symptoms of stress. **What to expect:** * 2-hour duration * Small group size (maximum 6) * Multi-sensory activities * Sharing circle (optional) * Herbal tea offering * A guide to take care of you, so you can truly relax into the wonder of the natural world * Phone-free environment * Opportunity to chat and connect with others (if you would like to) * **Please note there are no toilets available** \- there are several cafes on Mile End Road with toilet facilities\. **What to bring:** * Warm clothes; even on a summer day, spending prolonged time in the shade can begin to feel chilly! * Shoes with a good grip, and that you don't mind getting dirty * A journal and pen * A mug (for tea if you fancy it!) * Any medications you might need, such as EpiPens or inhalers. **How much is it?** This experience is offered on a donation basis; this means you can decide what you can reasonably afford to give. To help you decide, we want to be transparent with our cost breakdown: * £8.50 - meets the recommended donation to Friends of THCP and contributes to important conservation work * £12 - covers the above and supports the guide at the minimum wage rate * £15-20 - pay it forward / supporter option. You are welcome to give less or more depending on your personal circumstances. **[Make a donation here](https://buy.stripe.com/14AfZg0Gn3qL9Dx86M2VG02)**. **About your guide:** Hello! I'm Lizzie, a life-long nature lover. Having been gifted the Kingfisher Concise Field Guide to Animals & Plants of Britain and Europe at the tender age of five, it's perhaps unsurprising that I am happiest outdoors! After several years as a geography teacher and data analyst, I began my studentship as a Forest Bathing Practitioner with Nature and Therapy in June 2025. I have experienced the medicinal influence of nature in my own life when I've struggled with burnout and grief; it's a gift I am keen to share with others. If you have any questions, please do reach out. I look forward to welcoming you! **What next?** Sign up! Then, you will receive a participation form by email with a couple of questions about health and safety; please try to respond before the event, so we can go straight to the trees! Your answers will help us to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone and are encrypted. Our GDPR policy is available on request.

INTRO TO FURNITURE RESTORATION – 1 DAY
INTRO TO FURNITURE RESTORATION – 1 DAY
**Bookable via our website ➡️** https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/events/intro-to-furniture-restoration-1-day-90/ ⋆⋆⋆ Revamp your tired woodwork. Get the Ra Ra back into your furniture – jazz up those car boot finds and old junk. Many of us own items that wouldn’t star on ‘Antiques Roadshow’ but are pieces that would benefit from a gentle sprucing up. In this one-day starter class, our tutor will walk you through how to tackle those forlorn but beloved pieces of less valuable furniture that need some tender loving care. You will learn how to apply a solution to a problem piece-whether it’s a white ring left by a cup or a scratch in the varnish and have hands-on practice of removing varnish and refinishing woodwork. You will also explore the world of glues and clamps to learn about tackling a wobbly chair and re-attaching loose trims and veneers. Please bring your own piece to work on. Lots of charity shops sell old boxes and shabby cabinets. You can pick up a bargain on eBay. We have easy step-free access to the centre and you can find a place to park fairly easily nearby. It may not be possible to finish your own work, but if it's a wobbly chair we can show you how to re-glue it back together and the tutor can help you identify what needs to be done. We don’t cover furniture painting on this day course. The use of all tools and basic materials is included. Beginners welcome.

We’ll meet on the upper courts. Bring a pickleball paddle if you have one. If not, no problem, I’ll have some extras available for people to use. Dodgeball is back again! If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed. We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play. If it rains, the event will be canceled.
