Release Your Inner Writer - Monday's at 4pm pacific, 5pm mountain, 6pm central
**Release Your Inner Writer**
**Release Your Inner Writer is for anyone who feels they are a writer, wants to be a writer, or those who want to explore writing in a comfortable and supportive setting. We’ll set the stage for you to write creatively with opportunities to share with the group, or not, whatever you’re comfortable with.**
Have you ever thought: “I have an interesting story, but I don’t know how to start sharing it with people”? Have you ever thought of writing a book? Do you simply want to start journaling? Every person has a story to share, and all of them are transformational for us and sometimes for others. When we write our thoughts and ideas down, we move internal content to an external device like a notebook or a laptop. By doing this we’re able to clear our heads and uncover one layer after another.
**Hosted by Kathy Nutt**
**Kathy Nutt** is a creative who uses many media and styles to convey a glimpse into her mysterious, whimsical world. Although mainly focused on the visual arts, she dabbles in the written word and is endeavoring to cultivate a consistent practice of writing, whether it be poetry, essays, short stories, or journaling.
Kathy believes a writing practice (along with any creative practice) is a beneficial way to break through the mundane and view our worlds through fresh new eyes. We may discover a breakthrough, change a pattern, or just experience catharsis. Or we may simply arrive in a place of joy. She believes the creative process is more important than the finished product and that creativity is for everyone, not just the gifted few.
**CREATING CONNECTION CANADA** is a network of welcoming and inclusive communities committed to sharing authentic conversation, nurturing meaningful activities, promoting holistic wellness practices, and fostering compassionate action. We are LGBTQ+ affirming. People of every walk of life, culture, faith, or tradition, participate in a myriad of connection groups, forming meaningful community within this diversity. As a result, these communities are multi-faceted - expressing the inspirations, aspirations, wisdom, practices, and blessing of all. While we encourage you to share openly, we ask that you do so in a kind and considerate manner.
**As a REGISTERED NON-PROFIT** charity working to bring community together through like-minded interests, we welcome and gratefully appreciate any financial support. Tax receipts are provided.

Nature walk ( the medicine) as a moving meditation
**Nature walks**
**Join us on** **Thursday at 10:30 AM** **ET**
**: Just a simple introduction, I am Lauren Brooke Purcell . I am both a teacher and a facilitator . I have been called to help create a spiritually safe container (community ) for advanced or new students, patients, and clients to grow and experience transformative practices through nature walks , reiki, meditation , and gentle movement . I am a passionate teacher , using wisdom , connection, and the ability to guide to help bring forth information that is relevant and pertinent.Information and cellular experience that transforms, that transmutes as well . During our Nature walks we experience Pachamamma’s power to transmute a lower energy to a higher energy . For the past 20 years, I have dedicated my life to teaching meditation. And my mentor was Father Thomas Keating. I was nudged to give this gift out to the universe. I had experienced a bad car accident, and the universe had brought me, from Jesus, Holy Spirit, and God, the art of meditation to help me relieve my spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical pain during my recovery. This was truly a gift. And then I was nudged to give that gift out to the universe, and opened up and manifested a beautiful home studio where I was able to teach meditation, yoga, reiki, nature walks, and shamanism. When I studied under William Lee Rand for my master level reiki in 2018, it brought to my awareness that the reiki energy was guiding my spiritual path, and my life's purpose was being revealed. I noticed during my master level class with William that his dedication, commitment, and level of professional ethics would be a standard that I would like to set as a goal in my own personal reiki practice and reiki business. After class one day, I had a conversation with William about his own personal healing process, and he mentioned Colleen Benelli's name during the conversation. The reiki energy guided me to call Colleen and sign up for her next step reiki classes. I feel it's a natural course of compassionate action now for myself to take my next step in becoming a reiki master teacher for the Dorset , VT . community. Both of my teachers, William Lee Rand and Colleen Benelli, have modeled out for me a very high standard of teaching. It would be an honor and privilege for me to dedicate my life's work to contributing to the wellness of the world. I feel aligned, both personally and professionally, with this purpose and vision. I believe that through community, we can manifest as a community the wellness of the world together.**

Listening Hour
What it is
A weekly 1 hour connection and empathy space currently hosted by people who have experience in NVC, for anyone interested in NVC.
This is not a workshop but a peer listening space to encourage listening.
Who it’s for
Everyone who is interested in NVC is welcome. No need for formal training but it’s great if you have been to some trainings.
Come if you want to practice listening.
Come if you’d enjoy a listening ear.
What happens
We offer a structure which offers clear guidance to everyone about what to do.
Format (Each host will hold the space in a slightly different way but the overall structure will be the same)
• Check-in
• breakout into 3s for empathy and listening. (Empathy guidelines will be given and you can respond to the generative question ‘What do you want empathy for or to talk through?’)
• Closing
Self responsibility
This is a reminder that everyone is responsible for themselves and we encourage you to take care of your own emotional safety.
Bear in mind your listening partners aren’t trainers or therapists.
Is there any cost?
We’re offering these sessions for free as we’d like to contribute to making empathy support more accessible, especially during these challenging times. Afterwards, if you are moved to do so, and can afford it, we’d be grateful for a donation to our chosen organisation:

Loving Kindness Meditation
Practicing Metta meditation improves a person’s mind state and has lasting and profound emotional, physical, and spiritual benefits. Through scientific research, Metta meditation, or loving-kindness, has been shown to decrease migraines, chronic pain, and symptoms of depression and PTSD. It increases compassion and feelings of empathy, as well as decreases criticism of self and others. It can even positively affect the aging process and makes you more resilient to stress.
Each session includes a guided loving-kindness meditation, short discussion on a mindful element of loving-kindness, a handout and time to ask questions. Join our co-facilitators Pema Antoniotti and Chris Lee-Thompson and be prepared for a lively discussion.
In our fall 2018 series we plan to cover the following topics (order to be decided), and will often add topics as the sessions progress in order to take into account the group’s needs and interests.
--Introduction to Loving Kindness
--Science-based benefits of Loving Kindness
--The brain and the heart
--Aspects of Loving Kindness: Gentleness
--Aspects of Loving Kindness: Working with the inner critic
--Aspects of Loving Kindness: Not feeling inconvenienced by others
--Loving Kindness and Compassion
--Tips to prepare the body for meditation
--A review of how to sit comfortably
As Pema and Chris come from different faith backgrounds, they will offer these new topics during the series:
--Loving Kindness and the Buddhist Sutras
--Loving Kindness in Christianity
--Interfaith perspectives on Loving Kindness
This group is held online using Zoom. We ask that you register on our website at https://www.joyfulpath.org/event/loving-kindness-meditation-group/2018-12-05/ so that we can prepare the session appropriately and send you handouts when we use them in the class. However, it is not mandatory to register. To participate by zoom, use this link: https://zoom.us/j/140322520
Transformative Meditation Practice
These special meditations are deeply steeped in the Tibetan tradition and often appeal to those who resonate with mystical or symbolic meditation practices. After generating compassion, one visualizes being immersed in a special quality or state of mind such as healing, wisdom, or purity. The meditations also include quiet contemplation of symbolic imagery, such as meditation on the Buddha. Many people who come to this for the first time experience a wave of peacefulness and a fresh, heart-centered aliveness.
The spring meditations will be primarily Buddha of Compassion, Medicine Buddha and Buddha Shakyamuni with other meditations occasionally offered.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**!
The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*.
Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "*Yes, And*" that you'll have a blast!
