For **LGBTQIA+**
**Gast in diesem Monat: Alejandro Múnera**
**[Free with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/writing-circle/w26-2026/)**
This workshop invites LGBTQI+ participants to approach writing as a practice of listening. Together, we will explore what it means to listen carefully to ourselves, to one another, and to the multiplicity of worlds we inhabit.
It’ll also be an opportunity to consider how writing emerges from encounters, conversations, memories, silences, and different forms of attention. No previous writing experience is required; conducted in English, but open to all languages.
The workshop invites participants interested in poetry, storytelling, reflection, and all forms of creative experimentation.
**Words and stories reside within all of us, waiting to be discovered.**
Our monthly Open Writing Circle invites people with all levels of writing experience to explore their creativity and imagination.
In each session, one of Berlin’s many exceptional writers, poets, artists, or curators will create a vibrant and collective learning experience.
Whether you’re interested in fiction, memoir, non-fiction, or poetry, this supportive space encourages you to uncover the words within you. We’ll draw upon techniques used in writing workshops to unleash your innate talent in a collaborative environment that will allow for a dynamic exchange of ideas and insights.
This workshop aims to create an affirming, playful and empowering space for queer people to explore, express and celebrate their identities as well as to provide a platform for the stories of the LGBTQIA+ community to be shared, heard and valued.

Grenzen wahrnehmen. Das Unbekannte erforschen. Alternative "Ich's" ausprobieren.

Tea Tasting with Elena Goncharik: Tea from the Edge of Europe
**Tea from the Edge of Europe- Tea Tasting by Elena Goncharik**
Did you know the Azores are home to one of the oldest — and only — tea plantations in Europe? **Chá Gorreana** has been growing tea on São Miguel since 1883, and the story of how tea made it to this volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic is worth telling.
Our certified tea expert Elena @sip_pages recently visited the plantation herself — and brought back four teas for us to explore together:
* White Tea
* Green Tea (Hysson)
* Jasmine Tea
* Black Tea (Pekoe)
Join us on Sunday, June 28th · 3–5pm 🌿 for a tasting session where we’ll brew all four, share the story behind them, and slow down for an afternoon of tea, curiosity & good company.
Elena is a Berlin-based tea expert who shares her passion for tea on Instagram under @sip_pages. She regularly documents tea journeys and special discoveries from the world of tea — and offers private tea ceremonies in Berlin, guiding guests through the culture and art of tea.
Creative Parents Playdate
A relaxed outdoor meetup for creative parents and their children at a playground in Rummelsburg (close to Ostkreuz)
Day Dreamers Playdate is an informal gathering where parents can connect, talk, and share experiences while children play freely nearby. It’s a simple, open space to meet other creative people navigating parenthood, without pressure or structure — just presence, conversation, and community.
Bring snacks, coffee, and whatever you and your child need. We’ll meet, let the kids lead the rhythm, and see who shows up.
A small step toward building a local network of creative parents in Berlin.
Impressionism, Brunch & Art — Cassirer at Alte Nationalgalerie 🎨

**About the exhibition:**
*Cassirer and the Breakthrough of Impressionism* brings together around 100 masterworks by Monet, Degas, Cézanne and more — told through the story of Paul Cassirer, the most important art dealer of the Impressionist era in Germany. A man who single-handedly changed how Germany saw art. The exhibition runs until 27 September — but summer is the perfect time to see it.

American Sign Language Beginners Meetup Group
We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able!
Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for! Each meetup will explore different topics related to ASL/Deaf culture, and will feature time to practice conversation with one another. Just bring yourself and a willingness to learn!
Shut Up & Write!™ Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros.
10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Saturday!
