Let's play Pour House Trivia at a great venue - Nighthawk Brewery! Besides being able to get some great beer, this place also sells good pizza in two different styles! Nighthawk is conveniently located in the Pentagon Row development in Pentagon City (Arlington). Parking is available at an adjacent garage right near the venue. Nighthawk is also accessible from the Pentagon City Metro station. The game starts at 7:00, but please try to arrive 15 minutes early to find us and get settled in. See you there!

Join us at Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge, located in Rockville to celebrate LIFE. If it's nice, we can sit outside by the pond and waterfall. It’s a rustic retreat reminiscent of the grand "Great Camps" of the Adirondack Mountains from the early 1900s. If you like to sleep in on Sunday mornings, this magnificent hike at Catoctin Mountain Park close to Camp David in Thurmont, MD is for you. Our moderate-to-strenuous 8.5-mile circuit with 1370 ft. in elevation gain includes some spectacular views and attractions. Some of the sights we’ll enjoy along the way include Cunningham Falls (highest in Maryland), Hog Rock overlook, Blue Ridge vista, Thurmont vista, the Wolf Rock formation, and the Chimney Rock overlook. Meet at the Grovesnor-Strathmore Metro station by 1:30 p.m. and please answer the Meetup questions so we can organize carpools. Bring snacks, beverages, sunscreen, bug spray, sturdy hiking boots, the $5 Adventuring fee, and $10 to reimburse your carpool driver. We'll make a stop at Sheetz on our drive up. Hello Hikers!! Welcome to our Saturday morning hike at 8:30 AM! Many - but not all - of our hikes originate at Great Falls Park, off Georgetown Pike. Unless you already have an appropriate pass, the park entrance fee is $20/car for a single visit or $35/car for a 12-month pass that is good for the Maryland side of the river too. Come twice and you'll save 5 bucks! For the record, all scheduled hikes will be held even when it rains, snows or is super hot or cold unless the weather is too extreme to be safe. Our standard hike is a relatively easy 1 hour plus loop hike at a moderate pace. Usually a hike-extension is offered for those wishing to add a few miles more, up to 7 miles or so total. In spite of our Meetup name, we also hike in nearby parks such as Riverbend, Scott's Run, Turkey Run, Seneca, and Billy Goat A or C on theMaryland side of the Potomac. We have also scheduled hikes in Shenandoah NP and at Sugarloaf in Maryland. Please note that phone connections can be iffy in the park so don't call you are running late, but texting may work. It's best for you to be on time as we set out pretty much on time. This 1+ hour of hiking (or more) is a great way to relax, turn off your cell phones, make new friends, and get some exercise. See the spectacular Niagara Falls with Adventure-Us! This 4-day, 3-night road trip is going to be an absolute blast! ITINERARY * Thursday—Meet at Park & Ride, then drive to Niagara (approximately 7 hours). Road tripping with the gang! We’ll stop for lunch and plan on dinner in Niagara. * Friday—Niagara Falls including the Maid of the Mist, the famous boat tour that takes you right up to the falls! * Saturday—Buffalo, New York attractions, as yet to be determined * Sunday—Breakfast and drive home COST The price for a solo traveler is $500. If you are interested in sharing or would like to book one bedroom for a couple, please contact us so we can make those price adjustments. ACCOMMODATIONS We are renting a house with 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. All the rooms have queen beds except one which has two twin beds. TRANSPORTATION Depending on the number of travelers, we will either be riding in a car or a rental van. We’ll meet at the Southwest Park & Ride in Catonsville (near CCBC) so people can leave their cars for the weekend. If you need alternative arrangements or plan to meet us there, please post in the comments. FOOD Since we will have access to a kitchen, you are welcome to bring food and snacks, but we are not planning to cook. Since we’ll be out and about, we plan to eat at restaurants or bring carryout back to the house. Meals are not included in the cost of the trip. ATTIRE Bring something that can get wet and/or a poncho for the Maid of the Mist tour. Bring at least two pairs of shoes since one will most certainly get wet. Otherwise, good walking shoes and comfortable clothes are all you need. We don’t plan to eat anywhere fancy.
