Before Lighthouse, she worked as a Data Engineer at Markmi.ai.* **Accelerating Data Engineering with dbt MCP Server** In this session, I’ll introduce a more experimental approach to data engineering using a dbt MCP server. We’ll explore how this setup enhances developer productivity by enabling smarter workflows, automation, and tighter integration between dbt and external tools. I’ll share early learnings from real-world usage, including how MCP can streamline model development, improve context awareness, and reduce friction in day-to-day analytics engineering tasks. This session is ideal for those curious about the next evolution of dbt workflows and how emerging tooling can augment traditional SQL-based development. *by [Vladyslav Ishchenko](https://www.linkedin.com/in/vladyslav-ishchenko01/), Analytics Architect at [Element61](https://www.element61.be/en)* *Vladyslav holds an MBA from KU Leuven specializing in Business Information Management and brings strong multicultural experience from living in Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea. DDDBE Reboot: Domain Prototyping
DDDBE Reboot: Domain Prototyping
After some quiet time, DDD Belgium is back. This meetup marks a fresh start for the community — whether you’re deeply into Domain-Driven Design or just getting started, you’re very welcome to join. **Agenda** • 18:00 Food & drinks (sponsored by Cheops) • 19:30 Introduction by Cheops and host • 19:45 *DDD: The essentials* — Jochen Szostek • 20:00 *Domain Prototyping* — Tim Schraepen + Q&A • 21:00 Future of DDD Belgium? • 21:15 Drinks & networking • 22:00 End We’ll kick off the evening with a short introduction to DDD: the essentials — a 15-minute primer to get everyone on the same page and give newcomers a solid foundation. The main session of the evening is a hands-on exploration of *Domain Prototyping* by Tim Schraepen. When exploring a domain, speed and iteration matter more than perfection. Thanks to Kotlin’s expressiveness and low verbosity, it becomes easier to write code that you’re willing to throw away — making it a great fit for rapid prototyping. In this interactive session, we’ll focus on how to quickly iterate on models and code to better understand and align with the business domain. This is not about Kotlin as a language, but about using code as a thinking and learning tool. Expect an informal, collaborative session with room for discussion and questions. We’ll wrap up the evening by discussing the future of the DDD Belgium meetup: what formats we prefer, how often to meet, and what kind of sessions we want to organize together. Whether you're here to learn, share, or just reconnect with the DDD community — we’re looking forward to seeing you there.

*** ✨ A quiet, almost hidden corner where Brussels slows down. The Molenbeek Valley offers a mix of small paths, open spaces, and slightly wild areas — an ideal environment to step out of the usual rhythm and reconnect with your body. We begin with a gentle walk to reach a calm practice spot. During the session, you’ll be introduced to Qigong — a simple and effective practice rooted in traditional Chinese movement. It combines slow movements, breathing, and attention to help release tension, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system. The exercises are easy to follow, even if it’s your first time. The focus is not on performance, but on sensation: moving with awareness, breathing more freely, and allowing the body to reset. Depending on the session, we may explore sequences like **Ba Duan Jin (Eight Brocades)**, each with its own focus on circulation, joints, and overall energy. We close with a quiet return walk, giving the body time to integrate — often leaving with a clearer mind and a lighter, more grounded feeling.

UNO #474
UNO #474
Let's continue the tradition and play UNO, everybody is welcome :) If you're on the waitlist please check your messages, especially on Sunday. If people drop off last minute I tend to message people on the waitlist to see who can come. We'll be playing at the lobby of Radisson RED, Brussels. The address of the hotel is: Rue d'Idalie 35, 1050 Bruxelles My number is 0471 45 55 02. Feel free to call if you cannot solve a physics question, cannot find the place or simply need a hug. I have quickly written a set of rules on how we play. It is assumed that the reader has a basic concept of the game. *** Setup: * Each player starts with 6 or 7 cards each (depending on total number of players) * A card is shown in play in the middle of everyone, this is known as the top card. Goal: * The goal of the game for each player is to get rid of all cards in your hand Rules: * Whenever you go from two cards to one card, you have to say "UNO". * Each player takes his turn one by one, initially going in the clock-wise direction * A card may be played if it matches the same colour or same number or same type as the top card in play * The two black cards (Draw 4 and Wild) can be played regardless of the top card in play. * Interruption rule: You may interrupt the general flow of the game (clockwise or counter-clockwise) if you have the EXACT same card as the top card in play. If you manage to play the card prior to the person whose turn it's supposed to be, then the game continues on from you in the same direction it was previously. (Unless the reverse card was interrupted, then the direction changes). * Draw2 or Draw4 cards can be played in accordance to the interruption rule. The following person after the interrupt has to take the accumulated number of cards. If however, cards have already been drawn AND seen by the person who was supposed to take the cards, then only the remainder of cards has to be drawn. * Once someone has no cards remaining in his hand, play stops and we start counting points. Points: * Number cards have the face value as the number of points. i.e. number 6 is worth 6 points, number 0 is worth 0 points, number 4 is worth 4 points. * Skip, reverse and Draw2 are worth 20 points each * Wild and draw4 are worth 50 points each

From Overwhelm to Ease - an EFT Tapping Workshop
From Overwhelm to Ease - an EFT Tapping Workshop
From Overwhelm to Ease - an EFT Tapping Workshop By Roshanak Zaredoost Brussels, 13 May 2026 Rgeister Here: https://www.imaginationclub.org/brussels/from_overwhelm_to_ease.php Living abroad is an adventure - and also quietly exhausting. New country, new language, new identity. Your nervous system is working overtime, even when life looks good on the outside. In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT tapping): a gentle, evidence-based tool that combines acupressure and mindset work to help you release stress, calm anxiety, and reconnect with yourself - wherever in the world you are. What you'll take away: \* A practical tapping routine you can use anytime, anywhere - in 5 minutes or less - to bring your nervous system back to calm. \* A deeper understanding of the stress cycle - why your body reacts the way it does, and how to interrupt it with compassion rather than willpower. \* Personalised tapping phrases that speak to your specific challenges - loneliness, identity, overwhelm, not fitting in - so the tool actually feels like yours. \* A sense of being seen and understood - in a room full of people who get it, because they're living it too. No experience needed - just bring yourself, exactly as you are. You'll leave with a tool for life and a little more peace in your body. Join us for From "Overwhelm to Ease" and take the first step toward a calmer, freer, more authentic you. About Roshanak Born in Iran and living abroad for over 41 years, she has spent a lifetime navigating the beautiful complexity of building a life far from home. That journey - with all its richness, displacement, and reinvention - is at the heart of everything she does as an EFT coach. Her path to EFT was forged through her own transformation. She has walked through financial dependency, emotional dependency, abusive relationships, overeating, and the quiet suffering of a woman who had lost her voice - and come out the other side. Not by chance, but through deep, committed inner work. EFT was the tool that helped her break free from limiting beliefs one by one, and she has never stopped using it on herself. That ongoing personal practice is the foundation of everything she brings to her clients. Today, as an EFT coach whose practice is rooted in lived experience, she specialises in guiding women abroad through stress, anxiety, and overwhelm - helping them calm their nervous system, shed what no longer serves them, and step into a life of authenticity and self-love. Fluent in 6 languages and passionate about human connection, she meets every woman exactly where she is - with compassion, understanding, and the quiet confidence of someone who has been there. Her greatest joy is watching her clients step into their own freedom - emotionally balanced, self-aware, and unapologetically themselves. You can learn more about Roshanak and her work at... 👉 Turn Your Lived Experience Into Multiple Books Using AI (Ashburn)
👉 Turn Your Lived Experience Into Multiple Books Using AI (Ashburn)
**Saturday • May 16 • 2–5 PM • Ashburn, VA** Many people say they want to write a book someday — **this session helps you start.** Your life experiences already contain stories, lessons, and insights that could become books. The real challenge is **how to organize those experiences and actually turn them into writing.** In this interactive session, I’ll share the approach I’m using to build a **multi-book journey based on lived experience.** So far I have: 📚 **3 books published on Amazon** 📖 **1 more books releasing this year** (end of the year) 📝 **16 additional books planned** — and likely many more. This session is not about writing **just one book**. We’ll explore how your experiences can evolve into **multiple books over time**, and how to **use AI the right way to speed up your writing while keeping your voice authentic.** *** ### What We’ll Explore • Turning life experience into book ideas • How one journey can become multiple books • Simple ways to structure stories and lessons • Using **AI to organize ideas and speed up writing** • Practical strategies to actually finish a book **Everyone will leave with the outline of their first book idea.** **You don’t need writing experience — just curiosity about how your life experiences might turn into ideas worth sharing.** *** ### Event Details 💵 **$25 RSVP — includes coffee + snacks** 📍 **Ashburn, VA** (exact address shared after RSVP) 🕑 **2:00 PM – 5:00 PM** 👥 **Max 10 people** for a small, interactive conversation. Most attendees are professionals, entrepreneurs, and people navigating reinvention or new chapters in life. *** # Background — Writing & Reinvention Journey Writing has been one of the most powerful tools in my own reinvention journey. What began as reflections during a difficult life transition gradually evolved into published books and a growing body of work focused on reinvention, personal growth, and life transitions. My goal is not just to write books — but to help others realize that their experiences may also hold stories worth sharing. *** # 🔗 Midlife Reinvention Ecosystem 🌐 Website [https://midlifereinvention.co](https://midlifereinvention.co) ▶ YouTube (400K+ views) [https://www.youtube.com/@midlife_mindfulness](https://www.youtube.com/@midlife_mindfulness) 💼 LinkedIn (4K+ followers) [https://www.linkedin.com/in/anju-debnath-0061524/](https://www.linkedin.com/in/anju-debnath-0061524/) 🤝 Meetup Community (300+ Members) [https://www.meetup.com/ashburn-transition-meetup-group/](https://www.meetup.com/ashburn-transition-meetup-group/) 📚 Amazon Author Page [https://www.amazon.com/stores/Anju-Debnath/author/B0FFNBVZLQ](https://www.amazon.com/stores/Anju-Debnath/author/B0FFNBVZLQ)
NOVA Code & Coffee [164] - At FCED Venue
NOVA Code & Coffee [164] - At FCED Venue
NOVA Code and Coffee is an inclusive, informal, co-working session. People of all skill levels are invited. The concept is simple, bring a laptop and ideas, we'll provide the coffee and donuts! Here's how it works: 1. At 10:15 everyone introduces themselves and briefly describes what brought them to Code & Coffee today (project, homework, networking, etc) 2. For the rest of the day, folks work in the communal space on their projects providing one another help and conversation as needed. Oh and they usually drink coffee and tea too! That's it! Hope to see you there! **Location** Our hosts are the Fairfax City Economic Development Building: [10300 Eaton Pl, Fairfax, VA 22030](https://www.bing.com/ck/a?!&&p=d7298231ca2df594df822003f9a93517c788fceefe1fcbb79c8976696e341bc6JmltdHM9MTc1MzIyODgwMA&ptn=3&ver=2&hsh=4&fclid=180d0745-3b7f-69a1-23a2-11433a7868e5&u=a1L21hcHM_Jm1lcGk9MTA5fn5Ub3BPZlBhZ2V-QWRkcmVzc19MaW5rJnR5PTE4JnE9RmFpcmZheCUyMENpdHklMjBFY29ub21pYyUyMERldmVsb3BtZW50JnNzPXlwaWQuWU44NzN4ODI4MTk2Mjg0NTk5MDM4MTU0MiZwcG9pcz0zOC44NjE0NDYzODA2MTUyMzRfLTc3LjMwMjE3NzQyOTE5OTIyX0ZhaXJmYXglMjBDaXR5JTIwRWNvbm9taWMlMjBEZXZlbG9wbWVudF9ZTjg3M3g4MjgxOTYyODQ1OTkwMzgxNTQyfiZjcD0zOC44NjE0NDZ-LTc3LjMwMjE3NyZ2PTImc1Y9MSZGT1JNPU1QU1JQTA&ntb=1) Conference Room A- Large, Floor 1 This is a new venue for us, so give us some time to get more details about it. Driving is the best option. There is plenty of free on-site parking. Otherwise, we are a 22 minute bus from the Vienna Metro Station. Bicycling from Vienna is possible but difficult, though once you are here, there's a bike rack in the garage behind the building, and there's also a Capital Bikeshare dock 15 min walk away. **Sponsored by:** Thank you [Fairfax City Economic Development](https://gofairfaxcity.com/) and [Mason Enterprise Center](https://enterprise.gmu.edu/) for making this event possible! **Thank you so much to our wonderful sponsors!** Organized by [DMV Petri Dish](https://www.dmvpetridish.com/) **[Code of Conduct](https://github.com/NoVACodeCoffee/admin/blob/master/code-of-conduct.md):** We value the participation of each member of the community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
