Walk in Reflection Park with the Greenbelt Biota group
I am excited to extend this invitation to my fellow Cemetery Walkers for this Greenbelt Biota Club event! Learn about local natural burial and meet some awesome nature nerds! Event details here, and I'll put them below: https://www.facebook.com/events/869422072586538/
"Reflection Park is on a 40-acre parcel of land, with a section dedicated to a multi-faith natural burial ground. The rest of the park is a wooded area with a trail.
See [https://www.reflectionpark.org/](https://www.reflectionpark.org/) for more information about Reflection Park. Address: 16621 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20905
Google map location for directions: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/C7ShzCjGwymKK5Es7](https://maps.app.goo.gl/C7ShzCjGwymKK5Es7)
We will meet at the end of the paved road in the park.
Staff will give us an overview of natural burial and how Reflection Park works, as well as some of the things they are currently developing. Then we will walk in the woods and "botanize" as usual using the 1 mile trail.
See [https://www.reflectionpark.org/](https://www.reflectionpark.org/) for more information about Reflection Park.
\>\>Warning: No bathroom available on site yet \(the closest is at a nearby gas station\)

\>\> Usual protection for Maryland outings: You know the drill\. Water\, sunscreen\, tick protection should be on your mind\.
\>\> Some of us will most likely bring snacks and sandwiches to eat on the way or at the end\.
\>\>You can leave at anytime \(as long as you know how to find your way back to your car by yourself\)"
Myrna's note: Apologies for the dormancy of the group over the past several months. Now that the weather is warming up, I hope to schedule approximately one cemetery walk per month as is customary. If any interest is shown for having a walk in March, I'm in!

Profs & Pints Northern Virginia: The History of Plastic Surgery
[Profs and Pints Northern Virginia](https://www.profsandpints.com/washingtondc) presents: **āThe History of Plastic Surgery,ā** with Dr. Wendy Chen, plastic, reconstructive, and hand surgeon and assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
[Advance tickets: $13.50 plus sales tax and processing fees. Available at [https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/nv-plastic-surgery](https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/profsandpints/nv-plastic-surgery) .]
Most people misunderstand plastic surgery as vain and aesthetic, but the origins of this fascinating specialty are much deeper than that.
Come gain a rich understanding of the roots, medical impact, and current wide reach of a life-altering medical specialty with Dr. Wendy Chen, a leading educator on plastic and reconstructive surgery who has won awards for her work in clinical, basic science and education research.
Sheāll talk about how reconstructive surgery has been around for thousands of years, with evidence of it having been practiced in ancient Egypt and India, and has made advancements in the course of major wars. Those who practice it have been innovators in medicine, playing a major role in breakthroughs and winning the Nobel prize for kidney transplantation.
The need for plastic and reconstructive surgery has stemmed largely from how much our appearance influences how we navigate our worlds and how others regard us. There was a time, in fact, when people in American prisons were offered plastic surgery as an intervention against recidivism. Yet reconstructive surgery also has faced opposition, such as religious bans on its practice stemming from the belief that physical differences are a manifestation of spiritual sin.
Fast forward to now when plastic surgeons treat patients of every age for every kind of ailment, from congenital differences to trauma to cancer. Yes, some plastic and reconstructive surgery is to help people conform to tabloid- and social media-driven narratives of what defines beauty, but the field involves a lot more than injecting Botox and shaping buttocks. ( Doors: $17, or $15 with a student ID. Listed time is for doors. Talk starts 30 minutes later.)

**Abstract**
GitHub Copilot is powerful, but what if you could scale from a solo AI assistant to an entire team of specialized agents working in parallel? This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise.
We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration.
Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team.
