This will be a moderate \~5-mile hike in Rock Creek Park. Parts of this route are paved.

Thursday Night Run + Brewery Hangout
Join the RunDMV crew every Thursday night at **6:30pm** outside **Caboose Brewing Co.** in Vienna (520 Mill St. NE). We hit the W&OD Trail right behind the brewery for a **40-minute out-and-back run/walk**—go at your own pace, and when you hit 20 minutes, just turn around so we all finish together.
No matter if you’re walking, jogging, or pushing the pace, you’ll have company out there. Each week we switch directions (east one week, west the next) to keep things fresh.
After the run, we stick around for food and drinks at Caboose—because half the fun of run club is hanging out afterward. 🍻

Indoor Agility Play @ Frolick Dogs
For our February Meetup the Shelties will re-investigate Frolick Dogs in Alexandria, which is a climate controlled INDOOR doggie gym with agility equipment to try out! We had a BLAST here in the past and this is the perfect place for a winter meetup!
Note: Your dog must have current DHPP/Distemper, Bordatella, Rabies, and Parvo, with papers to prove it. More info at their site below.
Our private Sheltie-only event runs from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. This comes with a cost of $15 per dog and can accommodate up to 20 Shelties. (You pay as you enter.)
Please RSVP with the number of SHELTIES ONLY in your party! (Not humans. Dog count is especially important for Frolick as there are only 20 spots.)
We look forward to seeing everyone!
What to bring:
Extra Water & Bowls, Waste Bags, Training Treats, Current Shot Records (for Frolick)
Further Info:

Weather Note: because this is indoor, bad weather will NOT cause cancellation unless the roads become unsafe.
Run and Get Dirty! Adult Dogs in the main park, puppies in the small dog park
Our regular Sunday meetup at the Shirlington Dog Park -- members start arriving around 10:15 a.m. You'll always find an Aussie to play with. There are 3 entrances, so wander the park -- the dogs will find each other!
For puppies, Shirlington has a small dog park within the larger dog park. It's the prefect place for your puppy to gain confidence and socialize with others. There is also plenty of room to run.
Just a reminder, the Dog Park is under attack by the Arlington County Board of Commissioners. While early plans to decrease the size of the park by 50% has been tabled, it's important to remind Arlington County how important this park is to dogs and owners. Here are links to the change.org petition and the Facebook page where you can get updates.

A DC meetup at Dumbarton Oaks
PawsUP for David and Brick for originally suggesting this awesome meetup and our dogs love it!
-Dumbarton Oaks/Montrose Park in Georgetown
-Meet at the entrance off of R st, on the East side (closer to the cemetery)
-Plenty of street parking in the area
-Bring water and a ball for your Aussie
This park is a very large open field, that is very dog friendly. Tons of space to run and chase. Most if not all dogs are off leash. Occasional runners and kids (there is a playground), so keep that in mind. There is also a trail inside with a stream that the dogs love to play in.

2026 Super Pet Expo - Corgi Races Day 2
NEW LOCATION FOR 2026 due to closure of Chantilly Expo Center.
Manassas Mall 8358 Sudley Road, Manassas VA
Visit the SuperPet Expo webpage to purchase admission tickets and to register for race entry if they hare doing corgi racing. You must purchase 1 adult ticket for handler admission and a separate 1 dog entry for 1Pm on either Sat or Sunday. I am not hosting this one so this posting is for information/awareness.
https://superpetexpo.com/manassas/
https://www.superpetexpo.com for general event info and rules. Big one folks always skip is NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES! You will be able to buy a leash right there but please do not bring retractable leashes!
For those of you with young puppies please make sure you have a full week after your last round of shots at 16 weeks. This place can be a madhouse so please use common sense when exposing a new babe to the world.
Per website they are bringing back the indoor playground so we will either gather there or near the race track course. Since this event can be a madhouse we will play it by ear day of. Please make sure to be there in time to race promptly at 1 pm.
Lure course prices are typically $10-20 per run and the line to lure course can be pretty long on busy days. They also have in past years dock dives. Please excuse those corgis with a white plastic bag on a string addiction. You know who you are!
As always please RSVP the number of corgis attending unless otherwise noted!
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy the weather! We meet Saturdays at 10am, halfway between the Reston *Container Store* and *Not Your Average Joes* (by the metal benches), leaving no later than 10:05.
Every week, rain or shine, we start by walking along the Green Trail to reach Lake Anne Community Center. Once there, we pause for water/bio (often staying a few minutes extra from April-November, due to the local Farmer's Market), and then we circle Lake Anne and head back to our starting point. It's roughly 3-4 miles and takes about an hour and a half.
Afterwards, some members will often head to *Not Your Average Joes* or another local restaurant for a quick drink/meal before tackling the day.
This event is open to all ages and fitness levels. Dogs are welcome, and we recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll walk rain or shine. Also, feel free to bring a friend!
By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.

This trail starts at the parking lot off George Washington Memorial Parkway. It’s a mostly flat, multi-use path that follows the Potomac River and Boundary Channel through Lady Bird Johnson Park on Columbia Island. The trail passes the Navy Merchant Marine Memorial and Columbia Island Marina, offering beautiful views of Washington, DC.
C&O Canal - Widewater to Tavern - Placeholder
Looking for a spring weekend for this one.
We will be gathering in front of the Tavern at 2 pm and will walk south along the towpath or Berma Road (depending on crowds) until we reach the wide water bridge entrance (across the street from Old Anglers). Please note that on perfect fall days it may be very long wait to get into the park so please check announcements related to park entrance wait times. If you miss us at 2 pm I'm sure you can catch us if you enter the park around 3 at wide water entrance. Otherwise just run along the tow path and ask where the corgis are and I'm sure you will catch up to us.
This walk should be roughly 2-4 miles total. You may turn back at any point on your own if you or your corgi is exhausted. However, please note this is NOT the "death march" version of the walk as it starts at 2pm - I will schedule the death march version by poplular request as most folks don't want to walk til they drop.
