This time we’ll meet in Stadtpark for a portrait session / workshop, with plenty of time to experiment and work in different light situations. It’s a great opportunity to practise working with natural light outdoors, work with a model, and also get a few portraits for yourself. We’ll start with simpler portrait setups and then move into more creative and experimental directions as we go. Each person will have time to photograph the model but can also practice on the side, try different approaches, and also jump in for quick portraits in between. The idea is that we rotate setups a few times and explore how light, background, and small changes in direction affect the image. We’ll have a model with us throughout the session. We meet to learn and practice American Sign Language and to grow our familiarity with Deaf culture. Facilitated by hearing folks (with a connection to a professional interpreter) using Deaf-created content. People of all ASL skill levels are welcome! As we learn, we hope to connect more with the Deaf community in Central Ohio. Join us as you're able! Come regularly or just once - whatever you're looking for!
