Wine Not? (Women Only)
Wine Not? (Women Only)
Wine Not? is a women-only gathering before the Balancers Saturday social. Most attendees come solo, so it’s an easy and welcoming place to meet people and settle in before the night gets busier. London can make meeting new people feel awkward, especially if you're coming alone. This early social creates a comfortable environment where you can chat, laugh, and get to know a few friendly faces first. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, a few light games, and plenty of time to connect naturally. **At 7.30 pm the main Balancers social begins**, and the room fills as over **150 people usually join the night**. Wine Not? naturally flows into the rest of the evening, so you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the full experience. Coming solo is completely normal. Our hosts will be there to help everyone feel comfortable, included, and connected from the start. **Check out our past events here:** **[https://www.instagram.com/_balancers/](https://www.instagram.com/_balancers/)** **Want to stay in the loop? Join our WhatsApp community: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/IJKXDkwUTlmDsYTOCIUg7O](https://chat.whatsapp.com/IJKXDkwUTlmDsYTOCIUg7O)** *Remember, our pillars are Openness, Respect, Kindness and Authenticity. Attendance at this event is subject to our [Code of Conduct](https://www.balancers.app/code-of-conduct) and [Terms of Service](https://www.balancers.app/term-of-service). A Lovely Bank Holiday Spring Walk Virginia Water Cascades → Windsor Castle
Bank Holiday Spring Walk, Virginia Water Cascades to Windsor Castle Staying in London this Bank Holiday? Let’s escape the city together. Join us for a beautiful spring countryside walk from Virginia Water Lake and finishing near Windsor Castle. Many of our members attend our trips solo, however feel free to invite your friends and family. Expect: • Waterfalls, Deer Park & woodland • Blossoms & lakeside paths • Relaxed social pace • Ice cream, Café or pub stop in Windsor • Most attendees come solo This is a scenic 7–8 mile walk at a comfortable pace. Come alone. Walk together. Finish with castle views. Limited spaces to keep the group manageable. Walk. Bloom. Connect. Perfect for: • Solo socialisers • Nature lovers • People staying in London for the bank holiday • Those wanting fresh air without going abroad Check photos of our past visit, it was a lovely trip which was enjoyed by us all https://www.meetup.com/Passionate-about-Travelling-Food-and-Events/photos/31438998/#496630274 Towards the north of the park, on a rise, is the copper horse statue. From there, the 4km Long Walk, an iconic tree lined path, slopes downhill to Windsor Castle, besides the Thames. Virginia Water Lake was originally little more than a stream. During World War II, the lake was drained, as its obvious shape provided enemy guidance at night to Windsor and other important military targets in the area. It has been used by the crews for the Harry Potter films for lakeside scenes. The Cascade, or Waterfall, is also notable. It was constructed from stones brought from Bagshot Heath. They are rumoured to be the remains from a Saxon settlement. From the Cascade a stream runs through a glen and ultimately enters the Thames at Chertsey. By the side of the Cascade, immense stones are arranged to form a cavern known as 'The Robber's Cave'. **Walk description** Distance: 7 - 8 miles Grading: Easy no steep hills, flat path all the way Rating: 2 out of 10 Ascent: 189m Walk time: About 4.5 to 6.5 hours of actual walk/stroll, depending how fast we walk and how many of us. On my first trip during Covid there were 30 of us, it took 6 hours to arrive to Windsor due to the size and lack of exercise as a result of being cooped up at home for way too long, we had a few breaks along the way while others caught up with us. Recently with a smaller group of 15 to 20 it took us 4 hours. There will be 2 or 3 10 to 15 minutes break during our walk, as well as a 30 minutes lunch break where we can have a picnic on the grass. On our arrival to Winsor, you can opt to break up into small groups, a chance for some to visit the castle, this will cost extra to enter, there is a shopping centre, and several eateries joints, or some may wish to walk along the River Thames path etc. This will be the 5th time i have organised this walk and we always end up at Lebanese Night which i discovered on my first visit. A restaurant severing delicious halal food and the price is quite reasonable too, check out website for details and menu [Lebanese Nights Windsor, Berkshire SL4 1PR - Menu, Reviews (94), Photos (20) - Restaurantji](https://www.restaurantji.co.uk/berkshire/windsor/lebanese-nights-/) So on arrival in Windsor after exploring you will find a few of us here address 41 Thames St, Windsor **MEETING POINT** We will meet at Clapham Junction Train station at 9 am outside Marks and Spencer. We will leave the meeting point at 9:10am for the 09:19 am train. Planned arrival time back into London of 7:00pm (we have a group train ticket and you are committed for the day until then). Please note that this train ticket will allow you to leave from Windsor to London from Windsor and Eton riverside train station. **FOOD** We will stop during the hike for a snack lunch so please bring food and drink. We will visit a pub after the hike where we can get refreshments. **Price £30 non refunded unless cancelled, minus PayPal fees** **PLEASE RSVP ONLY ONCE YOU HAVE MADE PAYMENT, IF YOU RSVP WITHOUT MAKING PAYMENT YOUR RSVP WILL CHANGE TO NOT GOING.** **PLEASE PAY VIA LINK AT GET A SOCIAL LIFE MEETUP BELOW** [A Lovely Bank Holiday Spring Walk Virginia Water Cascades → Windsor Castle, Sun, May 24, 2026, 9:00 AM | Meetup](https://www.meetup.com/passionate-about-travelling-food-and-events/events/313409274/?eventOrigin=notifications&notificationId=%3Cinbox%3E%2112493109-1771397972801) **What to Bring** • Suitable and comfortable clothing, hiking boots are not necessary as there are no steep hills, flat surface all the way. "Gay Aprons Only": the most sassy cooking class in town
"Gay Aprons Only": the most sassy cooking class in town
The "Gay Aprons Only cooking class is back this May. If you are looking for something fun, cheeky, and a little different for your Saturday night? Don’t miss this. This is a playful and social cooking experience designed for gay men who enjoy great food, learning something new, good company, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We’ll kick off the evening with a glass of bubbles and a selection of antipasti to break the ice. Then, together, we’ll dive into preparing a traditional Italian dish from scratch. This time, you’ll learn how to make *Pasta allo Sparone*, filled with ricotta cheese and wild herbs, a unique recipe from the Abruzzo region — known not only for its bold flavours, but also for its unconventional preparation and presentation. It’s definitely something you won’t forget. The class takes place in a cosy private flat near Victoria Station and is limited to a small group of up to 10 people, keeping things intimate and relaxed. Cooking together is the perfect way to meet like-minded people, share laughs, learn new skills… and maybe even flirt a little 😉 And yes — as the theme suggests — we’ll be cooking wearing only an apron (provided on arrival). **What’s included:** * All ingredients for the recipe * Welcome aperitivo with antipasti and a drink * Unlimited Sparkling wine during the class * Aprons and cooking utensils * Cooking tips and guidance * A fun and social evening **Important information:** * Full details will be shared a few days before the event * This experience is for gay men only * Duration: approx. 3 hours (though guests often stay longer to socialise) * Feel free to bring extra drinks if you'd like to continue the evening. * A minimum of 4 participants is required. In the unlikely event of cancellation or rescheduling, you’ll be offered an alternative date or a full refund. **Come hungry, curious, and ready for a memorable night.** Happy vibes, Luca

But do show up and do have a good time. **On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\. **Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours. **Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass! **Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing. **Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions. **After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee. Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends. Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***, **Red 1 Realty** *Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*

Our picnic will feature a relaxed atmosphere with food, music, and opportunities to connect with friends. *BRING*: Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an afternoon of community celebration. *FREE EVENT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC*: Food and beverages will be available for purchase from the shop and food trucks. *PARKING*: limited near the wine shop. Most park one block away in the church parking lot. [Wyandotte Winery](https://www.wyandottewinery.com/) has been part of the Central Ohio community since 1977, and we are proud to host this gathering during our 50th year of operation as a local place for connection and hospitality.
Freestyle + Local Cantina
Freestyle + Local Cantina
**Local Cantina -** We'll shut down wine club at 8 pm this evening and take a short walk to our neighborhood Tex-Mex eatery - Local Cantina. Join us after wine club for a snack or meal. Please RSVP early AND Please let me know in the comments if you plan to join us after at the diner so I can have accurate numbers for the reservations. Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends. Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***, **Red 1 Realty** *Your Hilliard Wine Club Host*
