Please see our photo gallery for a sample of the games we play. We do not typically table mass market games (Chess, Clue, Monopoly etc.) We often table a variety of games, new and old, to keep things fresh. It is not required that you bring any games yourself, although it is appreciated if you do. In that case, please be prepared to teach whichever games you bring. Please do your best to support our excellent hosts for the past 3 years, Temple Bar Oakville. The focus for each event is to have fun so please adhere to our event etiquette (Jan 2026): 1. Please show up on time (we usually start the non-filler games right when the event starts). 2. Please only attend an event if you've already **RSVP'd**. Please change your **RSVP** status if you have to cancel (we typically wait a bit if we think you're stuck in traffic). 3. Please be kind to other players at your table: * No excessively long turns * No silly arguments over rules (if there's ambiguity, just agree on something temporarily for the evening) * No rolling back your moves in previous turns 4. You can invite a non-Dad guest every now and then but they cannot be a regular member of the group. 5. Please leave the arguments about politics at home. 6. We'll play in the food court of North York Centre. This is a public space so there is no cost, but please be kind to other people in the area. The Board Games event is a fun, sociable and charitable event We are a fun, friendly and kind group of people mostly in our 20s, 30s and 40s. Beginners are welcome! We are a very inclusive and social group and we teach people how to play games they have not played before :) We provide a variety of 40+ board games. The games usually take 5 or 10 minutes to learn and 30 to 60 minutes to play. **Time** * Board Games Start time: 630pm * Board Games end time: 10pm * Eat / Drink/ Socialise at a nearby pub afterwards **Location** 30 Leeds St, Toronto, ON M6G 3R8 (Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Protection) The entrance to the board game room is at the back of the Church. There is a sign on the door that says BOARD GAMES GROUP. Please use the map provided on the event page also. Payment **There are two ways to pay** **$10 by Cash - coins are not accepted. Only bills.** **$11.55 by Debit/Credit card** **Charity Donations** * This is a not-for-profit initiative. Revenue go towards covering costs of the event including venue, insurance marketing, refreshments and board games. Join **MEGA Group** & **All Fun & Games Group** for a fun-filled evening of shooting pool and socializing in Mississauga! Whether you're a beginner or a pro, this event is a great opportunity to play some games, meet new friends, and unwind after a long day. Come show off your skills, learn new techniques, and enjoy a laid-back atmosphere with like-minded individuals who share a passion for billiards. See you at the pool table! **Arrive** \- 10 \- 15 minutes before 7:30 pm start\, choose a cue\, meet your fellow players and begin to play while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive\. We will insert you into a game soon after you arrive even if it is past 8 pm\. It's O\.K\. to be late as we play until 10:30 pm\. **Event fee $25** Bring exact cash. ATM Machine on site. This is a 3 hour event. All are welcome regardless of skill level. We can give you tips and advice to better your play. We play for fun. Welcome to the Sunday meetup for Toronto Heavy Boardgamers @ Face-to-Face Games! The purpose of this event is to meet up to play heavier / longer board games, and have fun while doing it! We will start off small and if there is sufficient interest we will add capacity for future events. **Scheduling details:** \- If you have a specific game that you would like to post for\, feel free to do so in comments\. In your post\, include the name of the game\, number of players needed for the game\, whether you are offering a teach or not\, and the start time \(please try to start before noon if possible\)\. \- If you would like to join a specific game that has already been posted\, feel free to comment on it confirming your participation\. Make sure you have noted the details posted by the host\. \- You are of course also welcome to organize / join games onsite on the day itself\, assuming sufficient players / tables are available **Rules around COVID:** \- Given this is a public event\, we respectfully ask that only i\) fully vaccinated individuals\, and ii\) those not exhibiting any COVID symptoms\, participate\. The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area. Parking can sometimes fill esrly. There is additional parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.
