❄️🎨 WINTER STATIONS WALK + SOCIAL + LUNCH 🎨❄️
❄️ WINTER STATIONS WALK + SOCIAL + LUNCH ❄️ Art, Architecture & a Brisk Boardwalk Adventure Why hibernate when you can bundle up and experience one of Toronto’s most imaginative winter traditions? Launched in 2014, **Winter Stations** invites the international design and art community to reimagine the lifeguard towers along Toronto’s east-end beaches for the winter season. What began as a bold local collaboration between RAW Design, Ferris + Associates, and Curio has grown into a global design competition, attracting entries from over 90 countries and transforming the quiet winter shoreline into an open-air gallery at the water’s edge. It’s creative. It’s architectural. It’s windswept and wonderfully Canadian. And it’s even better with good company. **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) *** ‍♂️ What We’ll Do We’ll meet at Woodbine Beach and walk along the boardwalk, stopping to admire and chat about each installation as we go. The walk will take us along the waterfront (approximately 1 hours total, depending on our pace and how long we linger). Once we reach the end point, we’ll make our way back toward Woodbine Beach along the boardwalk. Afterward, for those who’d like to warm up, we’ll head toward Queen Street East to find a cozy spot to grab something to eat and continue the conversation. ☕ End Spot: Queen & Silver Birch *** ❄️ Weather & Commitment Please only sign up if you’re ready to walk in true winter conditions. This event is happening rain, snow, or classic Toronto wind. We embrace the elements. The only exception: the event will be canceled if temperatures reach -20°C. If you’re not sure you can handle the cold, it’s absolutely okay to skip this one. This is for the winter warriors. *** How to Find Me I’ll be waiting in front of the washrooms and changing area near the parking lot at Woodbine Beach. I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat. Please do not wander off without checking in — I will only wait 5 minutes. *** Meetup Fee Meetup Fee: $5 Cash in person or e-transfer to: mathewmaclean@hotmail.com ️ **Meetup Fee:** $5 cash in person **or** e-transfer to \*\*[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com**](http://mathewmaclean@hotmail.com%2A%2A/) This fee helps support the group and allows us to keep hosting events like this. Thank you for supporting community! *** What to Bring * Water or a warm drink * Proper winter boots or good walking shoes * Warm winter clothing (layers are your friend!) Comfort is key — we’ll be outdoors the entire time. *** ⏰ Can I Leave Early? Absolutely. You’re welcome to head out at any point. The full walk is about 1 hour but you can participate for as long as you like. *** Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social, make friends, and enjoy shared experiences — whether you’re single or not. We also host: Movies Walks & hikes Arts & culture outings ️ Restaurant meetups …and plenty of cozy, community-focused gatherings all year round. You’re always welcome here. *** ⚠️ A Gentle Reminder If you’re unsure about your schedule, feel free to decide on the day of. You’re welcome to just show up. And as always, sometimes circumstances change and events may need to be canceled — please keep an eye on updates. *** Organizer: Mathew Questions? Post on the event wall or email torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com Come for the art. Stay for the fresh air. Leave feeling invigorated, inspired… and maybe just a little proud of yourself for choosing winter over the couch. There’s something magical about the beach in February — especially when you don’t experience it alone. ❄️✨
Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together. Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions. If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming! Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event! Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event! **Discord**: We use Discord to share screen & code snippets during the event. Also feel free to share your projects here before the event! https://discord.gg/Da9fZFxPfs **Event policy**: * We have 0 tolerance for harassment. * We don’t allow the projects that are not meant to be shared in public such as school assignments, interview tasks, or trade secrets. * The goal is to write code. We discourage you from pitching business ideas here, doing code reviews, or spending the whole event on planning what to do. * Please buy a drink, and tip the barista well.

Bad Girls Book Club March 2026
**Our March pick is *God of the Woods* by Liz Moore.** **This month’s novel is an award-winning literary mystery that blends family drama with psychological suspense. It explores women’s voices and relationships while delivering an exciting, eerie, and deeply suspenseful story. The book is 576 pages in print or 14 hours and 35 minutes on audiobook.** Early morning, August 1975: a camp counselor discovers an empty bunk. Its occupant, Barbara Van Laar, has gone missing. Barbara isn’t just any thirteen-year-old: she’s the daughter of the family that owns the summer camp and employs most of the region’s residents. And this isn’t the first time a Van Laar child has disappeared. Barbara’s older brother similarly vanished fourteen years ago, never to be found. As a panicked search begins, a thrilling drama unfolds. Chasing down the layered secrets of the Van Laar family and the blue-collar community working in its shadow, Moore’s multi-threaded story invites readers into a rich and gripping dynasty of secrets and second chances. It is Liz Moore’s most ambitious and wide-reaching novel yet.

## Hey Columbus WIP peeps! ## Are you ready for an event that actually gives you what you asked for?? **\-\-\-\-\-\-** **A Small-group coaching conversations for women in product navigating growth, leadership, and career decisions.** **March 10 \| 5:30–8:00 PM** **Rev1 -- NEW SPACE** **330 Rush Alley #100** **Parking Options:** • **Rev1 at The Peninsula** • **Starling St. Garage South** – 377 W. Broad St. • **Metered Street Parking** **What moves are you making?** A promotion you’re working toward. A role change you’re considering. A bigger leadership opportunity. A conversation that needs to happen. A decision that’s been sitting in the back of your mind. For our Q1 Women in Product Columbus event, we’re creating space to actually work through those moments. **Making Moves** is an evening of focused, facilitated coaching conversations with experienced mentors from our local product community. This isn’t a panel. It’s not passive networking. It’s small-group dialogue designed to be thoughtful, practical, and worth your time. Here’s how it will work: • You’ll choose a topic that reflects what you’re navigating right now • You’ll join a small coaching circle (5–7 participants) • Each circle is led by a mentor who has lived experience in that area • We’ll run two rounds so you can go deeper or explore a second conversation ### Coaching Topics: • Communicating the Value of Your Work (or Team) • Career Transitions & What’s Next • Growing Into Leadership • Staying Relevant as Technology (and AI) Changes • Getting Alignment and Decisions from Leadership Our goal is simple: you leave with clearer thinking, practical perspective, and at least one next step you feel confident about. Space in each circle will be limited to keep conversations meaningful. If this sounds like the kind of room you’ve been wanting to be in, we’d love to see you on March 10. RSVP here! Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Google Analytics Alternatives
**Google Analytics Alternatives** Is it finally time to make the switch away from Google Analytics? Two-and-a-half years ago Jason Packer asked this question at Columbus Web Analytics Wednesday. Since then: Google’s Universal Analytics has been sunset, we’ve changed our name to Columbus Data & Analytics Wednesday, and Jason has released two editions of his book “Google Analytics Alternatives”. Fresh off the release of the 2nd edition of his book, we thought it was time to re-open this conversation. While people love to complain about it, GA’s market share has remained relatively constant (at least in the United States). Why is that? You won’t find any complaints about GA4 in this talk, but rather an overview of what’s currently available in the market and how to frame your decision-making process. We’ll also be giving out some free copies of Jason’s book! So even if you’ve got a “GA4Lyfe” tattoo (no judgement), there’s free books to go with the free pizza and beer.
