D.A.D.S. Workout
If youāre a dad over 35, you probably feel it:
* Your energy isnāt what it used to be.
* Work stress drains you before you even get home.
* The weight has crept on around the middle.
* Your kids still have endless energy, but keeping up with them feels harder every year.
And deep down, you know your family looks to you as the example. If youāre running on empty, short on patience, and out of shape, thatās the standard you set at home.
The **D.A.D.S. Program (Dads Achieving Discipline & Strength)** was built for men like you. Ordinary guys with jobs, families, and full schedules who want to:
* **Reclaim strength** so you feel capable, athletic, and confident again.
* **Boost energy** so youāre sharp at work and fully present with your family.
* **Drop the aches, stiffness, and sluggishness** that make you feel older than you are.
* **Find balance and accountability** by training alongside other dads in the same fight.
* **Crush male loneliness** by connecting with men who āget itā and have your back.
Hereās the best part: You donāt need to be a seasoned gym rat. This is designed for **beginner to intermediate exercisers**ādads who may have been out of the gym for years or have never had a structured program, but know itās time to get serious.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, weāre hosting **Meet-Up Workouts from 6:00ā6:45 AM.** No strings attached. Just one powerful hour that could be the turning point in your health, energy, and family life.
There are only **8 spots available**, and once theyāre gone, theyāre gone.

The Great Cookie Hike
*Please [click here](https://adventuringlgbtq.com/Adventuring_Release_Form.pdf) to review our release form. When you RSVP to an event, you affirm that you have read and agree to the terms of the release.*
As the creator of the Great Cookie Hike I am back and this year we will have bigger and better cookies :-)
One of Adventuring's cherished Holiday traditions is what we call The Great Cookie Hike, held between Christmas and New Year's, as we stroll down the Capital Crescent Trail (CCT) from Bethesda to the Georgetown waterfront. Everyone is asked to bring a batch of cookies (store-bought or home-made) that can be passed around to share at lunchtime.
(In case you miss us at the metro station here is the link to walk from the metro to where the trail begins. Do the sign in sheet and collect the $5 fee at the metro cash or venmo. https://maps.app.goo.gl/HrzL1fXPApFzJ6st9)
The total length of this easy one-way hike is about 8 miles, all of it level or downhill. We'll meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday the 27th, at the top of the stairs for the Bethesda Metro Station at Old Georgetown Road and Wisconsin Avenue. We'll lunch about an hour later at a convenient spot on the CCT that has plenty of seating. Soon after lunch we'll leave Maryland and enter the District of Columbia via a long downhill stretch towards the C&O Canal. Once we've leveled out on the Canal Towpath, we'll stop at Fletcher's Cove for a restroom break. Our final leg takes us down to the CCT terminus on the Georgetown Waterfront near Key Bridge. Optional refreshments follow at an eatery/watering hole TBD.
Bring water, snacks, comfortable walking shoes, $5 for the Adventuring trip fee, and whatever you need if you want to get back to our Bethesda starting point by Metrobus or Metrorail.
Optional meeting for drinks and food and Dupont Italian Kitchen at 1637 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20009 [https://maps.google.com/?cid=5533807431872345202 ](https://maps.google.com/?cid=5533807431872345202)

Post-Christmas Dinner at the Silver Diner!
Suffering post-Christmas letdown?
Then come to the Silver Diner at 1250 Half Street SE, Washington, DC for some post-Christmas cheer!
Located just blocks from Navy Yard Metro on the Green Line and across the street from Nationals Park, the Silver Diner is two stories and features an ever-rotating menu with everything from vegan to vegetarian to gluten-free to omnivore.
Driving is NOT recommended. Parking is expensive and difficult to find.
NOTE THE FIRST: The Navy Yard Metro station's Nationals Park entrance is closed. Only the New Jersey Ave. entrance is open. Please allow some extra time to account for this and any other service changes. I will post service changes the week before the event.
NOTE THE SECOND: If the weather calls for sleet, ice, wintry mix, or lots of snow, I'm rescheduling the event for January 2026.
See you soon and Happy Holidays!
