During the evening we’ll explore the story behind Gayns, the reality of loneliness within the gay community, and why creating spaces for meaningful connection has never been more important. Expect an honest and open discussion about what it takes to build community, why many gay men still struggle to find it, and how new ideas and initiatives are helping change that. We’ll have a minimum of 6 balls we ready, so no waiting around for touches—you’ll get plenty of swings, passes, and sets. We kick things off with about 30 minutes of warm-up drills (hitting lines, passing, serving, and maybe a few fun variations) to get everyone moving and dialed in. After that, we’ll jump into full games—fast, competitive, but always friendly. This session is intermediate level: you should be comfortable with the basics (serving, passing, hitting, and rotations). A short walk (approx 4 miles) through Central London Parks in the summer sunshine. LEAFY SUBURBS, OPULENCE, MANSIONS, PARKLANDS, GARDENS, LAKES. **WALK START POINT:Queensway Station** (Central Line - Zone 1) WALK DISTANCE: Approx 4 miles. WALK END POINT: A large pub near Paddington Station WALK ROUTE: Kensington Garden and Hyde Park to Paddington, WALK STOP OUT POINT: Nearby bus routes during most of the walk. **Scroll down to see Disclaimer and Notice of Risks.** ENJOY UNIQUE HEALTHY WALKS IN STUNNING GREEN SPACES OR ALONG WATERWAYS IN LONDON. Social Event: Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. RISKS for all walks: Please dress appropriately for weather conditions and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and be able to walk for four miles without a break. In these walks we use; pavements, cross busy roads, public parkland, towpaths alongside water, other public paths, rights of way, bridlepaths, country lanes and other established paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Please only wear good sturdy shoes, preferably walking boots and take care as surfaces may be uneven, tree roots may protrude, there may be low overhanging branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. On occasion wild,domestic and farm animals may also encountered. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself. No large dogs or small children please. Please arrive in good time to allow opportunity to use toilets at the start of the walk as there may not be any toilet breaks available during the walk. This group is a private substance misuse support group, for individuals who are experiencing difficulties in their relationship with drugs/alcohol. The group is facilitated by a trained and qualified Janus worker. This group is designed to offer support, encouragement and to provide a forum, that allows you to make informed choices. The objective of this group is to liberate you from the labels of addiction, dependency, illness sickness and "disease", replacing them with the more proactive terminology of choice, responsibility, self control and decision making. Janus does not use the 12 step model. The **Queen’s Rise Circle Survivor Check-In** is a gentle, bi-weekly gathering created for women healing from narcissistic, emotionally harmful, or difficult relationships. This is not therapy or a formal workshop. It is a supportive community space where survivors can come exactly as they are. Some weeks you may want to share. Other weeks you may simply listen. Both are welcome here. Together, we focus on small steps forward, emotional grounding, and rebuilding confidence in a safe and respectful environment. This space is survivor-led and trauma-aware, grounded in empathy, respect, and confidentiality. ### Who this is for This check-in is suitable for anyone who: • Is healing after a narcissistic or toxic relationship • Feels emotionally overwhelmed or isolated • Wants connection without pressure or judgement • Is looking for consistent, gentle support between workshops or coaching You do **not** need to be at a particular stage of healing to attend. ### What this space is not • Not group therapy or crisis support • Not a place for advice-giving or fixing others • Not a space for confrontation or debate It is simply a supportive circle for reflection, encouragement, and community. ### What to bring Just yourself. The emotional pain from past bad experiences easily lingers in the present, making it hard to enjoy life and create your future. Even when you think you've moved on, the negative emotions can be triggered, sending you back into the pain of that experience. And we are talking about pain; emotions such as grief, depression, anxiety, fear (or terror), boiling anger, simmering resentment, feelings of shame, blaming and regret can leave you incapacitated to a greater or lesser degree. In this local event we will be discussing the reasons why these past bad experiences have the power to affect you long after they occurred. We'll go over why the emotional pain can be so strong. We'll also discuss some simple solutions to overcome your emotional pain and be free to fully enjoy your life again. Examples of painful experiences include: * A broken relationship or divorce. * Death or loss of a loved one. * Death of a pet. * A sudden shock or bad news. * A betrayal. * Being part of an abusive relationship. * A bad injustice. * Loss of a job, position or business. * A grave illness or injury. The negative emotions from these experiences don't just go away on their own. But the good news is there is a way to clear them out of your way.
