**Hello, lovely people!** Join us for a relaxed walk through South London, exploring Bermondsey, Maltby Street Market, and the riverside near Tower Bridge 🌿⚓️ We’ll begin at a quiet Tibetan coffee and tea room, easing into the day before making our way towards the lively Maltby Street Market - a hidden gem filled with independent food and bakery stalls 🍞 From there, we’ll take a scenic walk along the river, gradually moving from the quieter corners of Bermondsey into the iconic energy around Tower Bridge 😉 This will be an easy-paced, social walk — a chance to explore, chat, and enjoy good company. A VERY SCENIC WALK along the Thamespath from Richmond to Ham and onto Kingston **WALK START POINT: Richmond Station** (National Rail,London Overground and District Line - Zone 4). When you arrive at the station look for Ken with Kens Events Flag/badge outside the station. WALK DISTANCE: Approx 6 miles. WALK FINISH: Kingston Station (National Rail). Wear good sturdy shoes/walking boots. To avoid insects, thorns, and stinging nettles, bare legs are not recommended. Take care as surfaces may be uneven, there may be low branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. On occasion we may encounter wild and farm animals. If you require insurance for these walks you must arrange this yourself. No small children or large dogs please.

Another shorter walk this week because I'm sure many will want to get home to see Arsenal in the cup final. I'm aiming to be at the pub by around 2pm. We're meeting at Grange Hill Station at 11am (directions below). We will be gone by 11.10am, so please don't be late. We can only wait longer if its due to circumstances genuinely beyond your control. When we finish at the (optional) Monkhams pub, we are still on the same link-line we started on (we're now at Roding Valley). I'll be hopping two stations back to Grange Hill after the pub. Woodford & Buckhurst Hill stations are also within walking distance, or by a short bus ride in either direction on the W14. The W14 will also go beyond those stations in both directions, and the 275 or 167 buses are within easy reach too. **The Meet Point:** If you are driving to the meet point, there are plenty of places to park all around Grange Hill Station. If you are coming by bus, the 462 goes to Grange Hill via Ilford Station, Gants Hill Station, Barkingside High St, & Fairlop Station. The 362 goes from Goodmayes to Grange Hill via Chadwell Heath and The City Pavilion **(where it meets the 247 from Romford).** Please check times as the 362's are only every 30 minutes **If you're coming on the Central Line, Grange Hill is on the link-line from Woodford to Hainault & vice-versa. Trains are every 20 minutes in either direction. Please note that this line runs independently of the main Epping and Hainault lines, as it bridges between the two of them.** Trains depart from Woodford at 10.15am and 10.35am. From Hainault at 10.10am, 10.30am, 10.50am. If you haven't already paid for May, I ask for a nominal contribution of £2 to help cover Meetup organiser fees. FREE WALK THE 10 BRIDGES WALK Start: Putney Bridge Underground Station End: Richmond Station PUTNEY BRIDGE UNDERGROUND STATION - RICHMOND STATION (LINEAR WALK) SATURDAY MAY 30TH START 10.30 am PUTNEY BRIDGE UNDERGROUND STATION (District line) FINISH 16.00pm (Richmond Bridge) (10-15 mins walk to Richmond station) Finish times can be earlier or later depending on group speed Distance: 10 miles (16 km) Pace: Brisk Terrain: Flat. Along towpaths A delightful riverside jaunt passing by 10 iconic bridges along the Thames path. We begin at Putney Bridge Underground Station (District Line) and end at Richmond Bridge (10 -15 mins walk to Richmond Station). We'll follow the Thames river's towpath and come across the following Bridges Putney Hammersmith Barnes Railway Chiswick Kew Railway Kew Richmond Lock Twickenham Richmond Railway Richmond We'll stop very briefly at each bridge. We"ll stop briefly at each bridge for a short historical background We'll also pass a few other sights along the way. Please bring a packed lunch and water (which we'll have somewhere along the walk) PUB STOP (45 mins) We will also stop at a pub near Barnes Bridge where you can order a drink / chips etc.. but not a long lunch break so don't order a big lunch... Very picturesque with plenty of greenery, trees & walking by water plus lots of interesting historical info & ending at a properly affordable local wetherspoons with bags of character & a nice outdoor seating area! Easy return to Central London (a few stops to Liverpool Street) from the nearby overground station. Meet outside Finsbury Park Station…take the Station Place exit & turn right to meet near the corner with Seven Sisters Road, where the old Arsenal shop used to be (1 Station Place, Finsbury Park N4 2DH) @2.30. It's a traditional English sport for everyone, even the unsporty. Your team will be either fielding or batting before swapping after the innings. When batting, the aim is to hit the ball, then try and run around the four posts. Your team gets a rounder if you make it round the four posts without stopping or getting out. You are out if when you hit the ball someone catches the ball before it reaches the ground or someone stumps a post before you get there. The rules will be explained at the beginning of each meetup with a practice round at the beginning. We play a slightly modified version of the official rules where if you are out, it's not game over for you. Your team will lose a life instead. This will give everyone multiple opportunities to bat. **It's very simple to pick up and the ball we use is very soft. We are very beginner friendly and the focus is on having fun rather than being competitive**. We attract attendees of all ages and sporting level. You are welcome to come and watch only too. We usually have a few people who do so while having a picnic and enjoying the park. **Come and meet us** Meet at 2pm in Regents Park. The organisers volunteer their time and fund for the equipment, public liability insurance, marketing and meetup costs to make this happen. If you’re active, enjoy a good social scene, and are into the outdoors, join us with 30 single guests for a 6.5 km walk around the Regents Park and Primrose Hill Circular. Switch scrolling for strolling during this wholesome morning, which includes a hosted walk, coffee (or tea), and a homemade chocolate brownie. Meet Ollie, your host, outside Regents Bar and Kitchen in Regents Park Inner Circle and just a short walk from Baker Street Station. After a stroll around Queen Mary’s Garden, we will continue through Marylebone Green and the English Gardens of Regent’s Park. We’ll then head north, crossing Regents Canal via the Monkey Gate, and make our way up to the viewpoint at Primrose Hill. Here, we’ll stop for coffee and homemade brownies—a great opportunity to socialise more widely with the group and get to know as many people as possible. If the weather isn’t kind to us, we’ll take refuge in a nearby café around Primrose Hill. After this short interlude, we will continue clockwise on the circuit, re-joining The Board Walk in Regents Park as we pass London Zoo, and then return to Marylebone Green, where we’ll conclude at the Japanese Garden. This is a super-relaxed morning walk and a fantastic opportunity to meet a fun bunch of people while getting your steps in along the way. After the walk, the usual post-event matching and messaging will be available on your It’s a Date dashboard. Taisoken Sword Fitness classes are formulated to sculpt your whole body, build lean muscle and focus the mind. Based on traditional Japanese sword movements (‘Taisoken’ literally means ‘exercise sword’ in Japanese) the class blends cardio and light weight resistance training to burn fat and build long lean muscles. We make use of traditional Japanese training swords (called ‘Bokken’) to tone our arms and strengthen our cores. No prior training or martial arts experience is required, the class is completely non-contact and suited to all levels of fitness. Come and join us every second Sunday for a strong work out - most weeks be pop to the local pub/café for a quick coffee or cake (and let’s be honest, sometimes both!) Meetup Cost: £10 Please bring the payment with you on the day and pay directly to Taisoken or you can make a bank transfer on the day. Classes are for ladies only. Back ground Info: Taisoken Sword Fitness has been developed and is led by Jeff Humm, who has been studying studying the use of the Japanese sword for over 45 years together with other traditional martial arts. He holds a Masters degree in Traditional Japanese Martial Arts and a 7th Dan in Japanese fencing (Kendo). The movements are authentic cutting actions, some dating back more than 3 hundred years when your life depend on how well you wield the Sword. By taking authentic Japanese sword movements of attack and defence, these actions have been formulated into practice routines which work and sculpt the full range of the body’s muscles. Additionally the routines require participates to focus and visualise their actions leading them to seeking perfection in application which in turn empowers the mind and develops greater body and mind equilibrium. The Japanese sword is sharp and slender, renowned and admired across the world for its beauty and image; those that can weld it effectively are held in great esteem and revered. Dodgeball is back again! If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed. We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play. If it rains, the event will be canceled.

Join us Tuesday (6/2) at 6:30 pm as we hike the Hundred Acre Woods in Westerville. This is a beautiful trail that is filled of hills and roots but a picturesque wooded landscape to hike. Wear your hiking boots if you have them. We will do 2 loops of the 1 mile trail.
