This will be a relaxed patio social for neurodivergent adults (most will be 20s/30s) focused on conversation and meeting new people through a low-key activity. Participate in our “Community Lore” activity — a social scavenger hunt-style game designed to make mingling feel easier and spark better conversation. Before the event, attendees will submit a few fun facts, unusual skills, niche interests, and/or random details about themselves. We use these anonymous submissions to create the activity cards. When guests arrive, anyone who wants to participate will receive a card featuring fun facts submitted by other attendees. As you mingle throughout the evening, you’ll try to figure out which person matches each item on your card. We’ll have reserved patio seating, casual games, complimentary appetizers, and drinks available for the group. Alcoholic beverages and additional food or entrees can be purchased individually. Meet in the parking lot of the Handy Bikes Service Center. At the start of each ride, we'll go over introductions to have a sense of participants' cycling experience. Over the course of our rides, we'll address the following: group riding dynamics; safety (ABC check & trail hazards); gear shifting; hill climbing; audible and hand communication within the group, with other trail users, and automobile drivers; what to bring on each ride; etc... Bring your questions, water & a snack. When it starts getting dark earlier, we'll need lights as well. Helmets a MUST. If you can, and especially if you've had issues with your bike, come a bit early to have it looked at ahead of the ride. PS - all levels are welcome to join, however, be mindful that if you are an experienced rider, please be prepared to ride at the pace of the newest rider in the group. Each week, depending on who's in attendance, and participants' riding ability/comfort level, we may do skills practice as a group in the parking lot or at the west end of Wheeler Ave. Once everyone is comfortable, we'll go for a ride on local trails and neighborhood streets and finish back at the shop. Not all Oddball Adventures take the viewer to exotic places. On the contrary, this story is set in London’s Indian community, where a woman pursues matchmaking with ruthless determination. Bluntly, the script must have appeared so inane that no studio should have greenlighted it. Nonetheless, it was produced with a splendid cast that brings all the weird humor to life… so to speak. Yoga is a core part of Mindful Leadership. In connection to this, we will do yoga. We meditate at the end of the class. I am a yogi myself and enjoy it a lot. I would like to share the joy with fellow members. We secured a private class, just for our group. No need to bother with super expensive designer yoga gear- just wear comfy clothes that move with you and provide decent coverage! No shoes are worn during yoga. Shoes aren’t even worn in the room where we practice yoga- so please take your shoes off at the door and leave them on a provided shoe rack or cubby. Water? Bring your refillable water bottle to fill up on free filtered water at the studio, or you can use one of our cups. Drink plenty of water after your class to help flush out toxins released from muscles and organs during class. As an expression of your yoga practice, you may wish to extend your gratitude to this fluid of life as you drink it up! Storage of stuff? Please store your personal items in provided “cubbies” inside the studio practice rooms (please don’t leave things outside the yoga room, especially valuables. And please remember to turn your cell phone off! Food? You might be uncomfortable during class if you just ate. So avoid eating during the two hours prior to class. You can also adopt a yogic diet that is vegetarian and energizing for maximum comfort and benefit. The payment includes registration, instructors fee and mat rental.
