Kon-Tiki Comedy Tuesday
Kon-Tiki Comedy Tuesday
**Kon-Tiki Comedy Tuesday!** Zurich's longest standing weekly Comedy Night : English Standup at Kon-Tiki Bar since 2018! **Tickets :** [https://shorturl.at/fgjmM](https://shorturl.at/fgjmM) Kon-Tiki Comedy has long become a staple of Tuesday Nights in Zurich! Veterans, regulars, amateurs & newbies from all around the world show up to make people laugh. This Comedy Open Mic is regularly Hosted by Ahmet Bilge. Kon-Tiki Comedy is the place for English Standup in central Zurich. Come join & laugh with us! **Early Show starts at 19:30 pm // Late Show starts at 21:30 pm** **Frequently Asked Questions:** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **Q: Is the show in English?** A: YES. Kon-Tiki Comedy is always in English. **Q: What's the difference of a Comedy Open Mic from a regular Comedy Show?** A: Anybody who wants can go on stage at a Comedy Open Mic. A bunch of Comedians will be there, but they will be trying out jokes, because this is how Comedians find out if something is funny or not, so you get to be there at the birthplace of jokes. Often Comedy Open Mics are more casual & but also funny as well! **Q: Can I perform Comedy also?** A: Yes of course! Just contact theamericanstandupshow@gmail.com if you're interested in performing. Or directly go to the event page on facebook & write "SPOT" inside the event discussion. You'll be confirmed later & will get 5minutes to start off with. Anybody can sign up! **Q: What about these seats?** A : We have enough seats for everyone but the first come first served rule applies! Especially since Kon-Tiki Comedy is popular, often it is packed inside, so come early for good seats. What's early? Anything before 19:00 & you will have your seat of choice. **Q : What about the late show?** Depending on the turnout a late show is also available most of the time, please check the ticket page to see if there is a late show option. Basically if you can buy tickets to the late show, it's happening, if it's not an option for a ticket it's not! Both shows might be consolidated into one if there's not enough ticket sold for the late show. In this case you will recieve an e-mail telling you so. **Q : Can I refund my ticket?** There are no refunds allowed because it becomes too much work for a simple Comedy Open Mic, so only buy your ticket if you know you're for sure going to be able to make it. But if for some reason you can't make it, you are welcome to use your ticket for any future Kon-Tiki Comedy Shows. Just write an e-mail to exchange. **Q : Can I buy tickets at the door?** No please don't. Technically we can but it complicates everything, so just buy them online. Just to persuade you NOT to ask to buy at the door: Tickets at the door are 15.-CHF. Please buy online : ) **Q: Will it be funny?** A : You betcha. You can't do a regular show since 2018 & not be funny. **Any other questions:** Email: theamericanstandupshow@gmail.com with the title "Kon-Tiki Comedy" But if it's any of the questions covered by the FAQ above, I will still answer it, *but first I will insult you.* **Legal Disclaimer:** Comedians may film their sets as well as the audience during the comedy show. By buying a ticket you consent to being filmed in this public space. If you ever have a problem with any clip published online you are very welcome to contact us & ask to have it removed, we are happy to accomodate you. Thank you for your understanding.

Gordon Party N’1
Gordon Party N’1
Food is better shared. Gordon Nights is a recurring community gathering in Zurich for people who believe that and want to actually do something about it. Each edition is a low-key, high-spirit evening: good company, honest drinks, and the occasional surprise. We partner with local causes because a good night out should leave something behind. Gordon Party N°01 kicks off on July 4th at Provitreff in Zürich. 100% of ticket proceeds go to Tischlein deck dich, fighting food insecurity in Switzerland. Come for the vibe, stay for what it stands for. Gordon is a Zurich-based app rethinking how you plan meals and shop groceries but these evenings aren’t product demos. They’re for anyone curious about food, community, and doing things a little differently in this city. Who shows up: home cooks, food lovers, expats, locals, app users, and people who just heard about it from a friend. What to expect: a real venue, a curated drink menu, good music, and a crowd worth meeting. No dress code. No pitch. Just people. gordonapp.com
Get out of your head! Intro to somatic exercises
Get out of your head! Intro to somatic exercises
Are you experiencing one or some of the following? 🌿Feeling sad and low on energy 🌿Feeling overwhelmed, anxious and stressed 🌿Difficulties sleeping Try somatic exercises to get out of your head and regulate your emotions! This is not a fitness class but a mind-body practice led by a qualified somatic therapist. Bioenergetic exercises were invented in the 1950s by a psychiatrist and therapist, Alexander Lowen, who was influenced by classical psychoanalysis but felt something was missing - the body. It reacts to stress and trauma by getting tense, even painful. We feel stiff and disconnected from our feelings, even numb. Somatic exercises are simple and designed to help you understand and regulate your feelings. As a result, you can manage stress, anxiety, or depressive mood better. Join me for the next workshop of bioenergetic exercises in Zurich! We meet in a cozy studio near Triemli station. Space is limited to 7 participants. You get 1 hour of theory, plus 2 hours of gentle exercises and group discussion. Think of it as building your own mental resilience workshop to use in moments of sadness, overwhelm, or stress. Note: \- If you have a history of psychotic episodes or difficulties managing anger\, then the workshop is not appropriate for you; individual therapy is better\. \- If you take antipsychotic medication\, it's also contraindicated\. \- If you have epilepsy\, it's also not the best format for you\. \- If you are pregnant\, it's better to wait a few months after the baby comes\. \- If you are very sensitive to loud noises\, please note that people sometimes scream during these workshops to express their emotions\. \- Depression or many other mental health concerns are not contraindications\, but for the workshop setting\, you should feel stable \(with medication and/or therapy\)\. These exercises may be a good addition to talk\-only therapy\, but best to consult with your therapist or psychiatrist first\. \- If in doubt\, message me about your particular situation\. *Note about the ticket: The visible price is 62 CHF, and the final checkout price will be around 65 CHF. I have reduced the visible price, as this is the only way for me to cover the reservation fees.* The number of participants may not reflect the actual number of bookings, as the event is announced on multiple websites. First-come, first-served. Tickets are non-refundable. If you get sick and provide a doctor's attest, I can rebook you for one of the upcoming, similar workshops.

ZH3 Hash # 1737: As yet unnamed (Social Running/Walking/Drinking)
Hares (someone to set the route) are NewBalls, SNOBalls, and All Hips Matter. Come join us! **Where**: See location. Typically within Zurich Zone 10. Look for English speakers wearing running gear. **When:** We'll meet at 6:50 pm to start at 7:00 pm. There's a charge of CHF 5 for participating, which covers all you can drink beer/cider (and non-alcoholic alternatives) plus snacks afterwards. **All Welcome:** If you are new, curious, and want to get out of the house, stretch your legs, talk shit, enjoy a drink, and hopefully a laugh, then here's what you need to know: • We are a social running/walking group, physical fitness is not required, but a sense of humour is useful. • The aim is to find the '*Beer Stop*' at the end of the '*trail*' and have fun. • 'True Trail' is typically 4-7 km. Some will go less (especially those walking or walk/running), and some over-achieving fast runners will go further. • The '*Hare*', which changes each event (along with location), cleverly lays the trail (typically with flour marks) so that everyone reaches the end at the same time. • There is always a place to deposit your bag and sometimes a place to change. • **After Trail**, we group for \~20-40 minutes for drinks, snacks, and some fun. This '*Circle*' is typically outside, so leave something warm in your bag in winter (and bring a flashlight when it's dark). If you don't want to stand around drinking afterwards, you can head home. We occasionally all go to a restaurant afterwards. **Why bother leaving your warm & dry sofa?** If you enjoy getting outside, being around people, and doing something a bit different, you will probably enjoy hashing. Exercise is important, and this is probably the least boring way to get it. 'Hashing' and the idea of some physical activity to work up a thirst, have been around for almost 90 years and there are groups (*Hashes*) in most major cities. Its humor and 'traditions' can be explored on the internet - **or you can just come along and find out.** *See you there.* We are of many nationalities, all ages, full of misfits and idiots (at least there is no one taking themselves seriously!) and always welcome newbies 'Virgin Hashers' and visitors from other groups. CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details: IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events! Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
