We are closing the year with a X-mas-themed Meetup. This time, we have not invited an external speaker. Instead, we are hosting a different format with the second **AlmereTech Meetup Quiz**. Join us at the WonderBit CafĂŠ, which will be fully decorated for the occasion, and get creative by **coming up with a fun Christmas item of your own**.

Shut Up & Write! [Amsterdam/ IJburg]
Join us for an hour of writing! Weâve discovered that itâs strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if itâs true for you at Factor-ij Amsterdam on Thursday mornings.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
11: 15 AM - Quick introductions
11: 30 AM - Timer starts: write for 1 hour
12: 30 PM - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 12:30 pm after the writing is wrapped. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. (Iâll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.

Radical Acceptance: Letting Go of Self-Judgment
Join us for an open, grounded conversation inspired by Tara Brachâs work on Radical Acceptance â the practice of meeting our thoughts, emotions, and life circumstances with clarity and compassion instead of self-criticism or resistance.
You donât need any background in meditation or psychology to join. Weâll explore accessible ideas such as:
* The âtrance of unworthinessâ â the quiet belief that something is wrong with us
* How resistance and self-judgment amplify stress
* What acceptance actually means (and why it is not passivity)
* The RAIN method: a simple, practical way to work with difficult emotions
* How compassion creates real emotional freedom
This is a relaxed, supportive space where you choose your level of participation. Sharing is optional; listening is welcome. The focus is on understanding ourselves better, building emotional resilience, and having an honest conversation about being human.

Movement & Theatre improv drop in lesson with Suzan Lemont
Join us for a fun session of improv theatre in English! A great opportunity to meet new people in Utrecht and learn something new with Improv Utrecht. Everyone can partcipate, you don't need any experience in theatre nor fluency in English.
**Special topic: Movement & Theatre improv**
Movement improvisation is a wonderful basis for all other forms of improvisation. Well before we had language we had movement; there is so much that can be expressed without words. Instead of the games that are used in theater improv, we work mostly with âscoresâ, or a kind of blueprint to what will happen in a space of time. A kind of a structure. We will do exercises that originate from Viewpoints, physical theater, and other forms of improvisation (including a bit of Contact Improv at times), and moving in/with/through the space, non verbal contact and how we can communicate through our bodies.
Anyone can participate, you donât need any experience in movement or theater nor complete fluency in English. This workshop is without shoes: bring non-slippery socks
In this session you will:
* Meet fellow international and local players.
* Learn the basics of improvisation, a 21st-century skill that is useful in many aspects of life.
* Get out of your head.
* Enjoy failing.
* Play funny and moving theatre games.
* Laugh a lot, while surprising yourself and others.

We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country.
