Join us for an engaging and inspiring life drawing sessions at the Toynbee Art Club in Aldgate Shoreditch, London. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner looking to explore your creative side, this session welcomes all skill levels. Our friendly and talented life models will strike poses for you to sketch and paint in a nurturing and supportive environment. This is a great opportunity to refine your drawing skills, meet like-minded individuals, and immerse yourself in the world of art. Beginners are especially encouraged to attend as guidance will be provided for those that request it. Come unleash your creativity with us! Poses are 1min to 50min. All materials provided.

Join us for a relaxed sketching session from 2–4pm on Sundays followed by a warm drink and a chat in a nearby café. 😊 We usually meet at the V&A Museum or outside in a local park when the weather allows. Please check the location listed in the event details each week, as it may change depending on rain, sun, or gallery access. This is a calm, informal, free meetup — you're welcome to draw at your own pace, chat a little, or just get into the flow. It’s open to all levels, from total beginners to experienced artists. 🖍️ Art materials: In museums/galleries, we can only use dry, non-messy materials: pens, biros, colour pencils, markers, and fine liners (no paint, pastel, or charcoal). Accessible-format life drawing and portrait session with a range of poses from 2 minute tutor-led warm up exercises to 15 mins in the first half of the class with general tips and tuition. In the second half, a long portrait pose of 35-40 mins with a 10 minute demo/draw-along led by tutor and portrait artist Rod who will show and talk through the process of drawing a portrait in front of the class. There is the option of doing a life drawing or a portrait as the model will be fully nude throughout. One-to-feedback given where required. Material and half-time tea provided.

It is a welcoming space to ask others with help on composition, perspective and shading. Please bring your own sketchbook and materials of your choice - from pencils, biros and markers to charcoal, pastels and paints. Feel free to bring your own food and drink. We could also check out the local cafés ☕️ 🪷🦜About Battersea Park 🦜🪷 This 200 acre Victorian park, is considered one of London’s finest parks! It was built between 1854 and 1870 and sits on the banks of the Thames of South West London. Let’s explore the riverside promenade, large lake, many notable trees and ecological areas! 🚂 Getting here 🚌 Let’s meet from 12pm at Chelsea Gate, which is located on Queenstown Road, just south of Chelsea Bridge. From 12.15pm we’ll ramble towards The Peace Pagoda. The closest overground train stations are Battersea Park Station and Queenstown Road Station. Both have a short walk. Sloane Square is the nearest underground station. From the station, walk down Lower Sloane Street and Chelsea Bridge Road, or take a 137 bus. This is a small-group social for people who enjoy culture, conversation and discovering interesting places in London. We’ll wander through the gallery at an easy pace, taking in the paintings, interiors, armour, furniture and unusual objects — no art knowledge needed. The aim is simple: a calm, friendly afternoon where it’s easy to chat naturally, without the pressure of a formal tour or a loud pub setting. After the gallery, anyone who would like to stay can join for coffee nearby, where we’ll continue the conversation in a relaxed small-group setting. New members are very welcome, whether you come on your own or with a friend. This event is especially suited to people who enjoy thoughtful conversation, culture, cafés and a more relaxed Sunday social atmosphere. The session is aimed at beginners and intermediate level players who have either never played tennis previously or would like to improve on their game. Join our 2 hours session which will consist of warm up followed by drills focusing on technical skill coaching and will include Forehand / Backhand / Volley and Serve. Finally you get to play each other refining your skills and techniques and ultimately having fun. Rackets can be borrowed please let me know if you need a racket in advance. A perfect starter for all those annoying jobs around the house that you feel you should be able to tackle…if only you knew how. We know it’s frustrating to wait for it to be done and then get charged for it and we understand it can be a bit daunting to head into a wall with a power drill. Pick up the skills to hang curtains, blinds, and simple shelves on any wall. Learn to drill into wood, brick, tiles, or hollow walls with confidence. We will show you how to judge what is behind the walls before you drill. An enjoyable ‘ hands-on’ one-day workshop that covers many of the common aspects of basic DIY. If you have just bought your home and have realized it didn’t include a landlord to fix stuff, or just don’t want to rely on someone else, this day is for you. There is plenty of time to practice on several exercises over the day. The workshop also covers hanging pictures and heavier objects like mirrors, cupboards, and flat-screen TVs. You will learn how to hang a hook, fix a baton, and then a pair of level shelf brackets. Finish off the day learning how to fit shelves into awkward alcoves – a handy skill you can use to fit work surfaces too. Learn how to select the correct drill bit, wall fixing, and screw to secure things confidently. The day will also include a chance to fill small and medium holes in wood and walls to prepare your surfaces for painting. Along the way, we show you how to remove old wall fixings and what to do with the ones you can’t. This a fun fast day with plenty of tools to try and lots of advice on which tools to have in a basic toolkit. If you are thinking of upgrading your drill, you can test all of the ones we use and feel more knowledgeable about what you want to buy. This course is especially suitable if you are not handy or if you are able, but not that confident, about tackling small but important tasks in your home. We will also suggest how to tell if a task is appropriate for DIY or GSI (Get Someone In). You will take home a set of skills that will last a lifetime. All tools and materials included.
