🚀Explore The Night Sky + Post Pub Drinks🔭(Subject to Weather)🪐
🌌Ever look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and wonder of the **universe?** That wild sobering thought that somewhere in the chaos of creation - the emergence of life - the universe became **conscious** enough to look back and ask the fundamental questions; How it all started, our evolution and place in it, and where else in the cosmos other complex life might exist (we know almost every star you see has planets orbiting with up to **20 billion habitable exoplanets** easily in our galaxy alone!)? 🪐🌟🌟🌟
🌍Then RSVP to view the potential life harbouring moons of **Jupiter**, comets, the famous **Orion Nebula** where stars like our sun were born, the majestic rings of **Saturn**, the international space station, well known star fields, remnants of **supernova** witnessed by our early ancestors, multi-star solar systems (think the double sun in Starwars), the Tau Ceti star with **2 Earth like planets** orbiting in the habitable zone, plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, galaxies) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Jan fully hosted by a passionate amateur astronomer and former global Journalist covering big picture stories including cutting edge science related ones.
🚀In between observing - we'll have **drinks and engaging chats** on all astronomy related topics for those inclined - space exploration, Fermi Paradox, Astrobiology, Cosmology, paleontology, SETI/Drake Equation (I have my own augmented version giving more realistic estimates of likely alien civilisations!), exoplanetology etc as well as non space chatter and banter too. No doubt we'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard before! If those don't make you laugh, my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will! 👽
And to help set the mood and make the night feel even extra galactic, I’ll put my DJ hat to play some space‑themed tunes and songs about the stars!
**======= Joining Astronomers Group & Telescopes =======**
I'm able to take a limited number of people (please only RSVP if you can make it) to join my friendly informal relaxed London amateur astronomers' club that have been for over a decade with their regulars made up of up to about 150 people. As there will be people attending from this private Astronomers group as well as others from one of my other groups - the total attendees will be far higher than rsvps here and the public liability insurance only covers a max number of people - hence I need to impose strict limits on attendance.
Over the years we have enjoyed numerous social evenings of stargazing and thought provoking chatter with people of all ages and varying levels of astronomy knowledge - so complete beginners that are genuinely curious about the universe are very welcome. If you are just looking to meet generic randoms then there are others groups that will better cater for that. The world renowed **BBC Television Sky at Night** also attended our events pre covid and interviewed some of us for it's show that aired on BBC1 in Feb 2019. BBC **Radio London** (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours
You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie
**==== Food & Drinks With Seating From Warm Indoor Cafe ====**
Alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, cider only), hot drinks and food/snacks will be available to purchase from an indoor cafe at the observation point which Regent's park keep open exclusively for the astronomers group so please don't bring your own drinks
**==== ITINERARY =====**
We will meet outside Camden Station. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the local park 15 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related.
**After Drinks:** Unless I have a very important 9AM Thursday deadline for a client presentation or something that I'm still gonna be writing 2 mins before start - most of us usually head our way back to Camden for another drink. If so - I will annouce the pub when we leave the park
**==== What Can You Expect To See (this time of year)? ====**
* Orion Nebula
* Jupiter and 4 moons
* Meteors
* Andromedia Galaxy
* Saturn, rings & moon
* Star clusters such as the Pleiades & Owl Cluster etc
* International Space station fly by
* Venus & Mercury
* Binary & tripple star systems (think planet *Tatooine in* Starwars!),
* Neptune
* Uranuus
* Mars
* Our moon
* A look towards the galactic centre where that supermassive £22b Labour black hole sits (Sagittarius A)

Angular London Meetup
Welcome to our first event of 2026! Starting strong with two great talks from two amazing people **Manfred Steyer** and **Rainer Hahnekamp!**
We have a free **CityJS London** conference ticket to give away to a lucky in-person attendee!
As usual there will be food, drinks and swag thanks to Revolution Technology and Angular.Love :D See you all soon!
**AGENDA**
• **5:30 pm** Networking/Food
• **6:30 pm** 360° Signals in Angular: Signal Forms\, SignalStore\, Resource API & Mutations \| **Manfred Steyer**
• **7:30 pm** Vitest Highlights: The New Era of Angular Testing \| **Rainer Hahnekamp**
**360° Signals in Angular: Signal Forms\, SignalStore\, Resource API & Mutations \|** **Manfred Steyer**
With Signals and the Resource API, Angular takes a significant step toward fully reactive application design. But what does this actually mean for day-to-day development and the architecture of modern Angular applications?
This session provides a detailed answer. We model reactive data flows across the entire Angular stack and enhance an application step by step with Signal Forms, the NgRx SignalStore, the Resource API, and Mutations. A central focus is on how these tools interact—because their true value emerges only in combination.
By the end, you will know how to structure Angular applications in a signal-driven world—clear, traceable, and without unnecessary boilerplate.
**Vitest Highlights: The New Era of Angular Testing** **\| Rainer Hahnekamp**
Vitest is finally supported out-of-the-box by the Angular CLI. But simply switching the test runner is just the beginning.
In this talk, we dive into the specific highlights that make the switch irresistible:
* Full Browser Mode: Real rendering with built-in "auto-waiting." Say goodbye to manual detectChanges() or whenStable().
* Better Asynchrony: Using modern tools like expect.poll and standard fake timers instead of the legacy waitForAsync() and fakeAsync().
Going All-In: While the CLI provides the foundation, we will look at Analog.js—the option that truly unlocks the full feature set.
**More about our speakers:**
**Manfred Steyer**
*Trainer, consultant, and programming architect with a focus on Angular, Google Developer Expert (GDE) who writes for O'Reilly, the German Java Magazine, and windows.developer. Regularly speaks at conferences.*
**Rainer Hahnekamp**
*Rainer is a Google Developer Expert and a trusted collaborator on the NgRx team. He works as a trainer and consultant within the Angular Architects expert network, specializing in Angular and Spring. Rainer regularly provides in-depth training sessions and offers a weekly overview of key events in the Angular ecosystem on YouTube through ng-news.*
Many thanks to our sponsors tonight, **Metro Bank** for hosting us and **Revolution Technology** for the food and drinks and **Angular.Love/House of Angular** for the swag :D
**Revolution Technology** are a Tech Recruitment Agency who specialise in Software Engineering, Data, Infrastructure and Testing. For the past 10 years they have partnered with some of the most exciting start ups, scale ups and enterprises globally, helping them build high performing and diverse tech teams.
Event will be streamed online, link will be available on the day! Looking forward to meeting you all!
London Founders Referral & Partnership Meetup
This event is for people with registered UK companies ONLY
Welcome to Joiner, a weekly meetup for B2B founders, freelancers, and operators who want to build partnerships and referrals through better conversations, not bigger rooms.
This is not a traditional networking event. There is no pitching and no random mingling.
Joiner events are designed to help founders form relationships that lead to real partnerships and referrals.
### How the evening works
We start with a short welcome and a brief overview of what we’ve learned about scaling through partnerships and referrals.
From there, we organise the room into small, highly relevant group conversations based on shared Ideal Client Profiles. These are shaped around things like:
* Target decision maker
* Target industry
* Company size
* Business stage
This helps ensure the conversations you have are relevant and useful, rather than random.
After the structured portion, there is relaxed time to continue conversations, make introductions, and follow up with people you want to explore partnerships or referrals with.
### What most people leave with
We aim for everyone to leave with at least one of the following:
* A potential partnership
* A collaboration opportunity
* A warm introduction
* Or a clearer framework for scaling referrals in their business
### The tone of the event
Everyone is here for the same reason: to find partnerships that can help them grow.
We keep things focused, practical, and human.
No pitching.
No pressure.
No forced networking.
Just thoughtful conversations with people who understand what you do and who you serve.
### Who this event is for
* B2B founders
* Freelancers
* Operators
If your business grows through partnerships or referrals, or you want it to, this is the right room to be in.
### Venue
Central London venue with a relaxed setting and space for conversation.
Details will be shared with registered attendees.
Grab a drink, join a table, and meet people who make sense for your business.
**Spots are limited. Please register in advance and follow the group to stay updated on future sessions.**
**We’ve launched a Directory of UK-based B2B founders actively looking for partnerships and referrals - you can sign up for FREE for a limited time through the link below.**
**If you join, you can complete our short Compatibility Form before the event to help us curate more relevant conversations and, where possible, facilitate bespoke 1-to-1 introductions on the night.**
**👉 Explore the Directory & complete the form here:**

BPC meet-up
This is our Beehive Poetry Club meet-up. This is a space to both read poetry that we have felt inspired by and also a chance to have a go at writing something or having a go at a technique. Roughly each week will look like the following:
13.30 - Arrive for coffee + intoduction
13.40 - Poetry reading (anything you may have written or enjoyed reading)
14.20 - coffee break
14.30 Free write or writing activity
15.30 - finish
StitchUp Meetups
**Welcome to StitchUp** – a welcoming social group that embraces individuals of all skill levels, providing a shared space for crafting in a social setting.
**Bring your current project**, whether it's knitting, quilting, embroidery, or any other textile craft. Work on your project or piece while having a chat with us. Some people knit, some people mend or just join the conversations. If you are starting new, I’m sure we can give you tips, but generally this is not a class or workshop and you will have to bring your own materials.
Also keep in mind that we sometimes don't have a table, so something that requires table space might be difficult to do.
**Background** – StitchUp began among friends with a shared love for textile crafts, evolving into a thriving group with regular meetups. Unfortunately, the group faced a decline during the COVID-19 pandemic but we would now like to revive these regular meetings in a social, in-person setting.
**Tickets** – There is a small ticket price to partially cover the costs for the use of this platform. I do not earn any money from this. Extra money will go back into the group.

# Fairfax Business Meetup - Middle of the Month, Week, Day
**Presents - Business, Community, & Education // with The Arc of Northern Virginia December 17th at Noon**
Come attend our Monthly Meetup at Patriots Pub & Grill. Get to know business professionals in the area, and help others pursue their goals. This is a relaxed business networking luncheon, that will showcase a local business in the area with a Q & A afterwards, hosted by Vision Idea Design.
***RSVP at*** *bit.ly/FairfaxMeetup (link below map)*
**Attendance is FREE, but...** A specialty catered menu has been crafted for this event by Patriots Pub & Grill. $5 - Beverages with refills. $25 RSVP (Includes food, space rental, etc.)
Each event will have a brief open networking, followed by introductions allowing each professional a few minutes to discuss their business. A local business will be spotlighted and will share a brief presentation about the organization, followed by questions and answers.
We aim to help each other grow our businesses and support our community by getting to know each other a little bit more.
**This month we are showcasing *The Arc of Northern Virginia.* The Arc promotes and protects the human rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.**
Patriots Pub & Grill has been a Fairfax City staple neighborhood restaurant initially welcoming regulars as Patriots Café. Newly relocated to 10560 Main Street at the Mosby Building, Patriots Pub & Grill specializes in American cuisine for the whole family in an easy-going casual setting.
Vision Idea Design is an all inclusive Graphic Design Firm located in Fairfax City. From logo concept to product packaging and books, and from trade show banners to signage and marketing materials. We enjoy helping others achieve their goals and pursuing their vision to success.
**Please bring a positive attitude, business cards, a networking partner, and your best elevator pitch.**
