Our friendly and talented life models will strike poses for you to sketch and paint in a nurturing and supportive environment. This is a light, social and engaging experience designed to spark conversation, creativity and laughter—while creating something uniquely personal. Elena, visual artist and teacher, will guide you step by step. You’ll begin with a quick and simple sketch, learning how to place and balance facial features on the page. You’ll then move on to painting with acrylics, exploring colour in a playful way, and finish with markers to add bold, refined or pop-inspired details if you'd like. The focus is not on perfection, but on expression, connection and enjoyment. You’ll leave with a colourful portrait and a shared fun experience to remember. Join us for a relaxed sketching session from 2–4pm on Sundays followed by a warm drink and a chat in a nearby café. 😊 We usually meet at the V&A Museum or outside in a local park when the weather allows. This is a calm, informal, free meetup — you're welcome to draw at your own pace, chat a little, or just get into the flow. Accessible-format life drawing and portrait session with a range of poses from 2 minute tutor-led warm up exercises to 15 mins in the first half of the class with general tips and tuition. In the second half, a long portrait pose of 35-40 mins with a demo/draw-along led by tutor Rod who will show and talk through the process of drawing a portrait in front of the class. There is the option of doing a life drawing or a portrait as the model will be fully nude throughout. One-to-feedback given where required. Material and half-time tea provided.

Across the globe, people are living longer. One in ten children in the UK are expected to live beyond the age of 100. But who gets to live longer and ‘age well’? This exhibition explores how experiences of age are shaped by our environment, culture and society. The exhibition features more than 120 artworks and objects, from historical artefacts to works by contemporary artists. It brings together different perspectives from art, science and popular culture, challenging assumptions about life stages and asks what greater longevity means for all of us. **Cost** Entry is free!
