First Steps- A Beginner's Course on Energy Kinesiology and Stress Management
First Steps- A Beginner's Course on Energy Kinesiology and Stress Management
**Interested in Energy Kinesiology? Want to learn effective techniques to help family and friends cope with stress?** First Steps is a **four-day beginning course** introducing the fundamentals of energy kinesiology. Energetic Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that begins with the premise that the body is one interacting unit, a whole with many different parts, systems, and functions that interconnect and act upon each other. When stress is introduced into the system, physiological changes occur, and the body/mind must compensate to continue functioning. This reduces the ability of the affected area to operate at full capacity and efficiency. Energy Kinesiology's unique contribution is to offer a tool that can address and relieve these stressors. It is consistently used throughout the world to improve learning ability, creativity, and mind/body coordination, as well as to help relieve emotional stress, trauma, physical pains, and most ailments. In this course you will learn basic muscle testing and begin to practice primary energy balancing techniques. This workshop consists of 50% lecture and 50% hands-on practice. *No prerequists required! Please come with an open heart for learning and for good natured practice.* Class Schedule: April 24: 9am - 5pm April 25: 12pm - 5pm April 26: 9am - 5pm April 27: 9am - 5pm **Investment: $625 \| Early Bird Special $550 \(until April 10\)\!** Learn more and register [HERE!](https://www.tealcenter.com/classes-and-events/)
Friday Night Skate
Friday Night Skate
Bring your lights for the “Friday Night” Skate! **Join us for the Friday Night Skate!** See the monuments of DC all lit up at night! We will meet at the National World War I Memorial “Pershing Park” at 7pm. We’ll warm up with a nice easy skate to the Capital and skate along the mall and museums to the National Monument. We will then head to the Lincoln Memorial through the World War II Memorial. Those interested in just a 5.5 mile skate can backtrack to Pershing Park. The group will then proceed from the Lincoln to Haynes Point via Ohio Drive with the option to take the 3 mile loop (12 mile total skate) or sit by the water and enjoy the crisp air (8.5 mile total skate.) There are three options to loop back to the Pershing Park WWI Memorial and our path back will depend on the preferences / skill of the group. The skate is mostly flat on good pavement with a small slope coming down from the Washington Monument and a 40 yard small slop from the Lincoln to Ohio Drive. If skaters are more advanced we will cross the 14th St bridge, enjoy a few up and down hills and finish with a downhill through the 12th St. tunnel. Please feel free to jazz it up with lights, I wear a helmet bike light, a fun set of lights and lighted wheels! Wear your lights so you have fun, can see and be seen! In case of bad weather, I will cancel the skate by 6pm on this post. **Of course, all skating is at your own risk.**

Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy nature! We meet Saturdays at 10am, by the bike racks and benches 150 feet in front of BUBBLES Hair Salon in Reston, leaving no later than 10:05. Every week we'll walk the Green Trail to Lake Anne Plaza (\~1 mile), pause there for 5-10 minutes (water, bio, and from April-Nov a Farmer's Market), then circle the lake (2 miles) before returning to our starting point. It's roughly 3.5 miles and takes about an hour and a half. Afterwards, some members will often head to a local restaurant to refuel and relax before tackling the rest of the day. This event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and both friends and dogs are always welcome! We recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water bottle, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll always walk, rain or shine. By signing up, you accept and assume all risks and responsibilities with this activity, and nobody will be held liable.
April Women’s Parkour Meetup
April Women’s Parkour Meetup
Come spring into spring with us as we return to Gateway for our first outdoor jam in a while! Please bring water, weather appropriate clothing, and good vibes. This park is a short walk from the Rosslyn Metro station. There is also limited parking available around the area, but it *can* be tricky to find, so you may want to calculate extra time if you're driving. This meetup is non-binary inclusive and open to all ability and skill levels. Whether it's your first time trying parkour or you've been training for years there will be fun challenges for everyone. Please also fill out the following waiver before attending: [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1U-_UoAC7vxrUcFV95wdtEVAG-Rg9u4urN2HHmz5sqfM/edit?usp=drivesdk](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1U-_UoAC7vxrUcFV95wdtEVAG-Rg9u4urN2HHmz5sqfM/edit?usp=drivesdk)

Bungee Buddha Foundations
NOTE: You MUST sign up and pay via our website to reserve your spot (https://flyingbuddhastudio.com/#Events). Simply responding yes to attend via Meetup does not hold your spot. Thank you for your understanding! In this workshop students will learn the basics of bungee fitness; including equipment, terminology, and safety practices. Please note that you will learn to set up your lane, size your harness, and how to use and work with the bungee system. We will introduce you to a variety of movements with the bungee and link the movements together to create beginner sequences. The workshop will be a 35 minute set up, a 30 minute class, and a 10 min cool down. This experience will leave you feeling confident and ready for our bungee series! What is bungee? Bungee is a high intensity, low impact workout on your joints that is a ton of fun! This apparatus requires a pack of bungee cords and a harness worn around the hips and waist to support a person while they move their body into various shapes and practice creative movements from leaping, bouncing, to lunges, push-ups, squats, handstands, jumps, etc. This cardiovascular workout will build coordination, strength, and endurance all while toning your body! Cost of workshop: $65 Sign up: https://flyingbuddhastudio.com/#Events **Important:** After registering, please email [info@flyingbuddhastudio.com](mailto:info@flyingbuddhastudio.com) with your weight (in lbs) and clothing size (S, M, L, XL, etc.) as soon as possible. This information is required so we can prep the correct harness and bungee setup for you. If we don’t receive your details on time, we can’t guarantee participation.
