Product Managers are uniquely positioned to become founders. Years spent living in customer problems, making prioritisation calls under uncertainty, and shipping products across competing constraints is excellent preparation for building a company from scratch. The question remains which skills to activate first and which to actively develop before making the leap.
This event convenes a panel of Product Managers who have successfully made the transition into founding — and are building companies today. Drawing on first-hand experience, they will cover what most founder talks omit: the PM skills that translate into a genuine competitive advantage, the capability gaps that require deliberate development, and a grounded, month-by-month account of what the first year of building demands. The result is a practical, unvarnished briefing designed to help you make an informed decision about the leap — and, should you choose to make it, to make it well-prepared.

Welcome to the **Unreal Engine Workshop!** In each session we'll tackle essential game design discussions, then transition into hands-on project creation. Participants will build and expand their skills continuously as we explore every aspect of game development. From basic blueprints and interactive mechanics, to advanced rigging, animation, environment design, and lighting, we'll work our way up to creating small complete games. We encourage experimentation and peer teaching, so whether you're a beginner or experienced developer looking to deepen your expertise, our sessions provide a supportive environment to learn, create, and innovate together in Unreal Engine 5.
Blood on the Clocktower @OtterChaos
Join OverBoard to play the brilliant social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in person at the incredible board game cafe Otter Chaos in Brixton.
This session will be geared towards players that have more experience with the game (to give the opportunity to play more advanced scripts) but we will always find ways to accommodate you if you are new to the game.
Please note that a gaming cover charge of \~£5 will be payable by each attendee to the venue so that we can make use of the space. We also encourage you to buy food and drink from the bar so we are supporting the business (I can highly recommend their pizzas!)

May 2026 // London Webflow Meetup
In-person and online - this is the **May 2026 London Webflow Meetup**!
New to Webflow, experienced, freelance, in-house, or just curious, everyone is welcome.
Curious what it’s like? [Watch the one-minute teaser](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_eZDWFEuDU).
️🕰️ **SCHEDULE**
**6.15pm:** drinks + mingle
**6.30pm**: welcome and announcements.
**6.45pm:** presentations
Session 1
**Beyond Blue Links: AEO + Optimize and Future-Proofing Your Clients for the AI Era** with **[Karleigh Dowell](https://www.linkedin.com/in/karleighdowell/)**
Search is changing faster than most agencies are ready for. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews — your clients' customers are increasingly getting their answers before they ever click a link. The old SEO playbook isn't broken, but it's no longer enough.
In this session we'll unpack what Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) actually means in practice, and how to prep client sites to show up — and convert — in an answer-first world. Expect a practical look at how AI is reshaping discovery, how Webflow Optimize fits into smarter personalisation and stronger conversion outcomes, and what agencies should be telling clients today to stay ahead of the shift.
*Karleigh Dowell is a Senior Solutions Engineer at Webflow, where she works closely with enterprise customers and agency partners to help teams build, optimise, and scale high-performing digital experiences.*
Session 2
**From Pixels to People: Lead Tracking and Attribution for Webflow Sites** with **[Ben Power](https://www.linkedin.com/in/benpowerr/)**
Front-end web design is getting easier, but figuring out who is actually converting on your site is getting harder. Whether you're generating leads, signups, or sales, browser pixels are quietly breaking - and the dashboards built on top of them are lying to you.
In this session we'll move past vanity metrics to look at how you build a modern tracking stack that actually proves ROI. Expect a plain-English breakdown of server-side tracking, a live look at a custom AI-powered User Journey Tool I've built for clients, and an honest take on where Webflow fits when you're optimising for outcomes, not just aesthetics.
*Ben Power is the co-founder of Pacing Agency, a London-based external marketing team that builds the engine room behind profitable Webflow sites.*
**8.00pm**: social at a local pub

1 DAY Film-jam No.124
This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you!
MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE.
If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc.
With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following:
1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank.
2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed)
3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film.
BUT
4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc.
Remember to bring:
1. You and your enthusiasm
2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever)
3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers
All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt!
The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize!
Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours.
Look forward to seeing you there!
If there are no more places available on meetup then MORE tickets available on eventbrite:

This isn't a formal networking event: it is for newcomers and outsiders, to be able to meet and chat socially.

We will take some time to speak as a group and share (if you are comfortable):

-What we've found most easy to find.
-To take the opportunity to exchange personal information, and share any resources we’ve come across which would be useful to others.
8.30 - 9.30
You're welcome to stay on longer and keep chatting, no pressure to stay, we'll be meeting every month.
....
Free to attend- No expectation of professional background, or active projects - just interest! To connect with others, creatively or socially.

Just space to discuss any personal interests or goals, with new faces; or catch up with ones you already know.
We'll have a table in main downstairs bar, from 7pm. Look out for a sign.

🟨🎬 BACKROOMS (FILM & SOCIAL)
**🚪₪ Through endless, untold rooms, I’ve found my way here… The more they remember me, the less they let me go. And the only thing louder than my heartbeat is the silence.**
👋 **Hello guys!** Let’s meet for this intriguing concept film directed by **Kane Parsons.** It’s based on his own **[web series](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVAh-MgDVqvDUEq6qDXqORBioE4Yhol_z)**, inspired by the **[Backrooms Creepypasta](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgjHA-1VRK4)**, a horror legend that’s been widely shared online. **The Backrooms** themselves are a fictional location that originated from a **[2019 4chan thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/backrooms/comments/xn7e0j/the_origin_of_the_backrooms_was_a_post_on_4chan/)**, so there are quite a few rabbit holes to go down here.
It’s crazy how many big names are producing this—Osgood Perkins, James Wan, and Shawn Levy, to name a few.
The premise of this **A24** expanded supernatural, science fiction, psychological horror—yeah, quite the mouthful—follows a therapist investigating a mysterious, infinite, damp, yellow-walled dimension after a patient disappears through a doorway.
Let’s make this a **film and social** with plenty to talk about. We’ll start with some **predictions** and **theories** at the **Victory House Wine Bar** from **4:30pm**. Then at **5:15pm** will be on our way to **Vue Cinema (Screen 9)** where you'll find me in seat **L8**, but you can pick what works for you.
At **7:45 pm** we'll regroup once again for our commentary with \*\*[Letterboxd ](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)\*\*review, before heading to our social at the **W Bar Leicester Square**.
Before we all go missing in these rooms please read the **full schedule breakdown, ticket information and addresses below**, so you don't get lost.
**I'll see you all on the other side.**

🦇🎬 VAMPIRE'S KISS (4K Q&A PREMIERE)
***🧛 Seduction. Romance. Murder. The things one does for love!***
👋 **Hey Everyone!** Let’s meet up for Thursday night drinks and the **UK premiere** of the hilarious (so I hear) new **4K restoration** of **Vampire’s Kiss** starring **Nicolas Cage**. The screening will be taking place at one of my favourite spots, the **Prince Charles Cinema**, and will also include an **exclusive** **Q&A** with director **Robert Bierman**.
The movie itself is a unique yuppie-comedy-horror that predates American Psycho by many years and follows a narcissistic New York literary agent, as he descends into madness. After a one-night stand with a mysterious woman who bites his neck, he becomes convinced he is transforming into a vampire.
**The plan** is to meet beforehand at the **Victory House Wine Bar** for a little vampire chit-chat before heading over to the cinema next door, where there’s another fun bar to hang out. The film will be playing in **Screen 1**, where you’ll find me in seat **D6** in case you’d like to sit in the same row.
**Afterward**, we’ll regroup one more time for a little **[Letterboxd](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)** **review** and **post-film discussion** before heading home. You can find a **full schedule breakdown and addresses below**. It should be a really fun night out.
Until then, I’m looking forward to seeing you guys there!

Feel Good Friday: POWER BALLAD at the Gateway Film Center + SHAKE NO. 8!
Join us as we get together to see Paul Rudd in the latest comedy-drama-musical from John Carney, POWER BALLAD! The film follows a washed-up wedding singer, a fading boy band singer and a stolen hit song. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. Power Ballad is written/directed by John Carney, the master of the modern musical and creative mind behind Once, Begin Again and Sing Street! It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor.
BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving!”
SUMMER OF ICE CREAM, VOL 2: SHAKE NO. 8! Ranked the #1 Ice Cream Shop in Columbus in 2024, this is the perfect place to kick off our Summer of Ice Cream and grab a sweet treat after the show! Their menu features an array of traditional, specialty and vegan shakes, hot cocoa, and more! You can check out their full menu here: [https://www.shakeno8.com/menu.php](https://www.shakeno8.com/menu.php)
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing and will meet in the lobby area about 20 minutes before the show. Once showtime is announced, advance ticket purchase is advised! Once you have yours, please list your seat number in the Comments section of this event. We'll head to nearby Shake No. 8 immediately following the show!
Should be a fun one, Dan
Jules and Jim, the Book!
By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year.
The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio. If you have a library card, you can file an interlibrary loan request here: https://www.columbuslibrary.org/library-services/ . There are also used copies available on Amazon and eBay for under twenty dollars.
You may want to rewatch the movie after reading the book, so we can compare and contrast in our discussion. The Columbus Library has four copies on DVD, and it's streaming on HBOMax.
THE BEAST/ La Bête (2023)
In the year 2044, in the age of AI, a woman named Gabrielle (Seydoux) tries to purify her DNA by purging the inherited memories of her past lives. She (re)lives her life in 1910 Paris and 2014 Los Angeles, and as the procedure goes on, the lines between her worlds become blurred. These three timelines have a lot of connective tissue holding them together; certain symbols and motifs appear repeatedly, not to mention Mackay’s Louis, a figure whom Gabrielle seems drawn to in each lifetime.

**Abstract**
Like it or not, AI agents are now capable of turning a quickly written paragraph of requirements into a pull request that is ready to be integrated into real-world production applications and it's now our responsibility to make sure AI doesn't go rogue and take down prod - or corrupt our data by misunderstanding the requirements or our existing schemas. In this session we'll explore strategies to protect our codebases through unit and integration testing, documentation, and code review along with additional ways of providing context and guard rails to our AI agents as they carry out the work we've assigned them to do. By the time we're done, you'll have a firm grasp of the problem and understand some helpful options for protecting your codebase from vibe coding mishaps getting YOLOed into prod.
