1 DAY Film-jam No.126
This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you!
MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE.
If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc.
With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following:
1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank.
2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed)
3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film.
BUT
4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc.
Remember to bring:
1. You and your enthusiasm
2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever)
3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers
All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt!
The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize!
Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours.
Look forward to seeing you there!

👋 **Hey everyone!** Is **DC** worried about **Marvel**, or is **Marvel** worried about how hard **DC** is hitting back? One thing’s for sure: 2026 is shaping up to be the year of superhero rivalry. After the success of **[James Gunn’s Superman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox8ZLF6cGM0)**, of course **DC** was going to swing big again, and now **Supergirl** is ready to soar.
This one is directed by **Craig Gillespie** and marks the second film in the **[brand-new DC-EU](https://www.dc.com/blog/2023/01/31/the-next-generation-of-dc-movies-and-tv-has-arrived)**. The story follows **Kara Zor-El** as she celebrates her 21st birthday while travelling across the galaxy, until a tragedy sends her on a relentless quest for revenge. Expect some mythology shake ups and a bold new direction for the character. Looking back, a **Supergirl film in the DC-EU** has been highly anticipated by fans for years, and it should be great fun experiencing it on IMAX.
On that note we'll **meet-and-greet** at **iMax BFI Cafe-Bar** at **5:00 pm** where we''ll be discussing our predictions and superhero lore. **The movie** is at **6:15 pm** where you'll find us in **row M9 -M10,** but you can choose, which ever seats you like.
**After the film** around **8:25 pm** we will reconvene back at the **cafe bar foyer area**, where we'll begin our **social, commentary** and **[Letterboxd Review](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse)**.
Let’s make the battle of the superheroes one to remember. **And if you’re feeling a little fancy-pants, feel free to bring your own goofy superhero T-shirts.**
**Looking forward to seeing you there!**

Hampstead Heath Spiritual Gathering & Walk
Our 45th Spiritual Creatives gathering - in person!
Come and join us for a lovely walk and talk around Hampstead Heath.
We are meeting just outside Hampstead Heath station (London Overground train) at 11.00 on Sunday the 28th of June.
Please note: This is NOT Hampstead Station on the Northern Line! It is the Hampstead HEATH station. The Google link is here:
We will wait for people to arrive until 11.15am and then we will begin walking. If you arrive later, you will only be able to catch up with us at Kenwood House approximately between 12 and 12.30pm. You should be able to find us sitting around as a group having a drink. If the weather permits, you'll find us outside the main café, towards the back. Look for the guy with the multicoloured scarf... that's me!
After a short break of 20-30 minutes, we then walk back through the Heath, taking the long way round to Parliament Hill, and conclude our stroll back to Hampstead Heath overground station around 2 to 2.30pm.
(Please note that you may become so involved in your conversations that you end up losing sight of the main group! Unfortunately, there is no way for you to catch up with us once we have become separated (and we do NOT check our phones for texts or messages during our walk) so please be mindful and conscious to stay with the main group if you want to keep up. Also please bear in mind that Hampstead Heath can be muddy sometimes, so please wear the appropriate shoes).
After returning to Hampstead Heath Overground station, many of our (usually hungry) members like to continue the camaraderie over lunch at one of the local cafés or restaurants. As our group has grown over the years, these gatherings can be quite large, so we usually have to split into smaller parties and explore different venues. Some of our favourite spots are Dominique’s Café (dominiquescafe.co.uk) and Silverberries (silverberry.net), both of which offer a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. It’s a great way to wind down the walk and continue our conversations.
Spiritual Creatives is a warm-hearted and popular meetup group, as you can see from our ratings and comments!
We hope to meet you then! :-)
Best wishes
Cliff

Stalker
Based on the novel Roadside Picnic, it is NO picnic, but rather one of the masterpieces of world cinema. Andrei Tarkovsky's 1979 Soviet sci-fi classic, recounts the expedition of a writer and professor led by a mysterious guide called "The Stalker." to a futuristic wasteland called "The Zone." Dripping with existential dread, it continually presents strange occurrences that will have us debating the meaning of what we've just viewed right through the ending.
*Stalker* (1979) can be streamed for free on HBOMax, the Criterion Channel or Kanopy. It's also available for rent on Amazon Prime and AppleTV. The Columbus Library has two copies on disc.

CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Do **NOT** sign up to this one and sign-up at https://www.meetup.com/columbusjs/events/313386504/
=======================================
A hand tracker gives you joints, not a gesture.
This talk shows how you get from raw joints to a "thumbs-up" in Unity: the pipeline that cleans up the data, how a gesture becomes a few 0-to-1 values within tolerance, and why orientation matters as much as finger shape.
Includes a live demo of tuning gesture thresholds.
Food and drinks will be available.
