This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you! MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE. If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc. With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following: 1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank. 2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed) 3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film. BUT 4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc. Remember to bring: 1. You and your enthusiasm 2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever) 3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt! The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize! Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours. **🚪₪ Through endless, untold rooms, I’ve found my way here… The more they remember me, the less they let me go. And the only thing louder than my heartbeat is the silence.** 👋 **Hello guys!** Let’s meet for this intriguing concept film directed by **Kane Parsons.** It’s based on his own **[web series](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVAh-MgDVqvDUEq6qDXqORBioE4Yhol_z)**, inspired by the **[Backrooms Creepypasta](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgjHA-1VRK4)**, a horror legend that’s been widely shared online. **The Backrooms** themselves are a fictional location that originated from a **[2019 4chan thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/backrooms/comments/xn7e0j/the_origin_of_the_backrooms_was_a_post_on_4chan/)**, so there are quite a few rabbit holes to go down here. It’s crazy how many big names are producing this—Osgood Perkins, James Wan, and Shawn Levy, to name a few. The premise of this **A24** expanded supernatural, science fiction, psychological horror—yeah, quite the mouthful—follows a therapist investigating a mysterious, infinite, damp, yellow-walled dimension after a patient disappears through a doorway. Let’s make this a **film and social** with plenty to talk about. We’ll start with some **predictions** and **theories** at the **Victory House Wine Bar** from **4:30pm**. Then at **5:15pm** will be on our way to **Vue Cinema (Screen 9)** where you'll find me in seat **L8**, but you can pick what works for you. After a short break of 20-30 minutes, we then walk back through the Heath, taking the long way round to Parliament Hill, and conclude our stroll back to Hampstead Heath overground station around 2 to 2.30pm. (Please note that you may become so involved in your conversations that you end up losing sight of the main group! Unfortunately, there is no way for you to catch up with us once we have become separated (and we do NOT check our phones for texts or messages during our walk) so please be mindful and conscious to stay with the main group if you want to keep up. Also please bear in mind that Hampstead Heath can be muddy sometimes, so please wear the appropriate shoes). After returning to Hampstead Heath Overground station, many of our (usually hungry) members like to continue the camaraderie over lunch at one of the local cafés or restaurants. As our group has grown over the years, these gatherings can be quite large, so we usually have to split into smaller parties and explore different venues. Some of our favourite spots are Dominique’s Café (dominiquescafe.co.uk) and Silverberries (silverberry.net), both of which offer a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year. The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio. There are also used copies available on Amazon and eBay for under twenty dollars. You may want to rewatch the movie after reading the book, so we can compare and contrast in our discussion.
