🌿 Walk with Confidence: Women’s Self-Confidence & Street Safety Awareness
🌿 Walk with Confidence: Women’s Self-Confidence & Street Safety Awareness
🌿 Walk with Confidence: Women’s Self-Confidence & Presence Workshop 🗓 **Date:** Saturday, 11 April ⏰ **Time**: 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM 📍 **Location**: The Brick at Steps Studios - Shorteditch 90 Hanbury Street, London, E1 5JL (Nearest stations: [Aldgate East Station]() / [Shoreditch High Street Station]()) 💷 **Fee:** £5.50 per person ONLY you can make the payment here: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/246V695LH8DVG Any other questions just let us know ⸻ ✨ What this session is about Confidence isn’t just something you feel—it’s something people can see the moment you walk into a space. In this workshop, we focus on building confidence from the inside out, starting with something simple but powerful: the way you walk, carry yourself, and express your energy. The way you move through the world can influence how others see you—and more importantly, how safe, grounded, and confident you feel in yourself. This is a beginner-friendly, supportive session designed to help you reconnect with your natural presence and strength. ⸻ 🌸 What you’ll learn • How to walk with calm, grounded confidence • How posture and body language shape first impressions • How to express presence, boundaries, and self-assurance • How small physical changes can shift your internal confidence We’ll also gently touch on awareness and presence in public spaces—helping you feel more in control and at ease in everyday life. ⸻ 🌿 What we’ll do together This is not just a talk—it’s an interactive, experience-based session. We’ll explore: • Self-connection reflection A simple guided moment to ask yourself: “What is something I truly love about myself?” (No pressure to share—just for you.) • Body language awareness game A light and fun activity where we guess emotions from posture and movement—helping you understand how confidence is communicated without words. • Optional sharing circle A relaxed space where participants can share thoughts or experiences around confidence—listening is just as valuable as speaking. • Optional appreciation moment If the group feels comfortable, we may include a short moment where participants offer a genuine, strength-based compliment to someone else. (Always optional, based on group comfort.) ⸻ 👗 What to wear Wear something that makes you feel: • Comfortable • Confident • Like yourself Please wear shoes you normally wear in your daily life (trainers, flats, etc.). This session is about real-life confidence, not performance—so no need for heels unless that’s your everyday style. ⸻ 💬 Who this is for • Women who want to feel more confident in daily life • Anyone who wants to improve presence, posture, and energy • Beginners—no experience needed ⸻ 🌷 A gentle note This is a supportive, relaxed, and non-judgmental space. You’re welcome to come alone or bring a friend. 📸 By attending our event, you agree that you may be filmed or photographed and that we have the right to use these images or videos on our social media platforms. ⸻ 🤍 Join us Take a small step toward a more confident version of yourself—starting from how you move through the world. Feel free to invite friends or share this event with others who might enjoy it ✨

Wine Not? (Women Only)
Wine Not? (Women Only)
Wine Not? is a women-only gathering before the Balancers Saturday social. Most attendees come solo, so it’s an easy and welcoming place to meet people and settle in before the night gets busier. London can make meeting new people feel awkward, especially if you're coming alone. This early social creates a comfortable environment where you can chat, laugh, and get to know a few friendly faces first. Expect a relaxed atmosphere, a few light games, and plenty of time to connect naturally. **At 7.30 pm the main Balancers social begins**, and the room fills as over **150 people usually join the night**. Wine Not? naturally flows into the rest of the evening, so you’re welcome to stay and enjoy the full experience. Coming solo is completely normal. Our hosts will be there to help everyone feel comfortable, included, and connected from the start. **Check out our past events here:** **[https://www.instagram.com/_balancers/](https://www.instagram.com/_balancers/)** **Want to stay in the loop? #1 - the UX of nature
#1 - the UX of nature
**Meet likeminded UX professionals and discuss ways to use design to reduce burnout.** **The Problem:** With stress and burnout on the rise, how can we use design to help Londoners "switch off" and reconnect with nature? For our first **design impact lab** session, we’ll be using the Japanese practice of *Shinrin-yoku* (forest bathing) as a lens to discuss how simple interventions can help us reconnect with nature to reduce stress & burnout. **The Flow (Sunday 12th April 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM):** * **10:00 \| Coffee & Intros \(WatchHouse\, Hanover\):** We’ll meet for coffee to kick things off. You'll meet other attendees and discuss the problem space. * **10:30 \| Observation Walk:** A 15-minute mini fieldwork walk to Hyde Park. You'll observe how the environment changes from a busy urban centre to the park and how this impacts how you feel. * **11:00 \| Shinrinyoku & Brainstorming:** Once we find a quiet spot, we’ll dive into the world of *Shinrin-yoku*. We’ll discuss how nature can boost wellbeing and brainstorm "micro-interventions" - simple design ideas (digital or physical) that could encourage more people in London to engage with nature to reduce stress & burnout. * **12:00 \| Closing & Optional Lunch:** We'll wrap up our discussions and those who have time can go for a casual lunch or picnic in the park. *** **Pre-Event Mission:** Your mission is to bring **one photo on your phone** of a natural spot that made you feel good recently. It can be a park, a window box, or even a stubborn weed in the pavement. We’ll share these over coffee to explore the different ways in which nature impacts our day to day experiences. *** **The Details:** * **Meeting Point:** WatchHouse, Hanover (Oxford Circus). * **Capacity:** We’re keeping this to a small group to ensure everyone can connect and contribute. Please ensure your RSVP is up to date and let us know if you're unable to attend. * **Vibe:** Friendly and relaxed! No laptops, just notebooks and fresh air. *** **Why Join?** If you’re a designer or researcher who wants to use your skills for more than just "conversion," come say hi. It’s a chance to meet like-minded people, learn about forest bathing and brainstorm design solutions to a universal problem. It's also our very first event, and I would love to hear everyone's thoughts and feedback to improve. **Who is this for?** Our events are for UX designers, researchers and other strategic and creative thinkers who are passionate about using their skills for social good, not just profit. **Who is the host?** Hi! 👋 I'm Max - a London based design researcher. Until recently I was based in Tokyo, where I ran a small design agency and spent over 10 years as a meetup organizer. I'm exploring ways to bring designers together to use our skills to work on meaningful problems. If that sounds like something you're interested in, I'd love to have you join! \*This event is being advertised on multiple sites, so the actual number of attendees will be different to what appears on meetup.

This used to be my go-to cafe because it’s not far from home. They’ve got plenty of food options, espresso and coffee from local roasters Caffe Amouri, and dedicated parking. I’ll try to grab a comfy couch for us to enjoy the morning. (No discussions on politics, religion or potentially controversial topics. We're here to relax and have fun. Just be respectful and we'll be alright. Pay your own way, and enjoy!)
