Fimlscreening in Babylon Berlin „Nanoplastics. Threat to Life“ EN/DE
Fimlscreening in Babylon Berlin „Nanoplastics. Threat to Life“ EN/DE
EN: **Film Screening at Babylon Berlin** **“Nanoplastics – Threat to Life”** March 7 \| 2:00–6:30 PM This documentary explores one of the most urgent environmental and public health issues of our time: micro- and nanoplastics — invisible, yet already present in our environment and even in our bodies. Nanoplastics affect our health, ecosystems, and climate processes. The film brings together current scientific findings and highlights what makes nanoplastics particularly dangerous: their ability to accumulate electrostatic charge — a largely overlooked factor with far-reaching consequences. 🧬 What impact does this have on our health? 🌍 What does this mean for our future? A global environmental problem that urgently requires societal responses. 🎬 Language: English with German subtitles A discussion and Q&A session will follow the screening. 🎟 Free admission 📩 Please register in advance 📍 Address: Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße 30, 10178 Berlin (Mitte, opposite the Volksbühne) Link to the free tickets at Babylon Berlin: https://babylonberlin.eu/film/9776-nanoplastik-die-unsichtbare-lebensgefahr?highlight=WyJuYW5vcGxhc3RpayJd DE: Filmvorführung im Babylon Berlin „Nanoplastik – Die unsichtbare Lebensgefahr“ (Nanoplastics.

Real Long Term Friendship
Real Long Term Friendship
Nice! You are looking for real long time friendship! You might have already lived in Berlin or other big cities and experienced the "Anonymous" culture for a while. Meeting random people over and over and never see the same person again! In order to find "Real Long Term Friendship" in Berlin, do as follows: * You should not care how many people are joining this meetup. You RVSP. Even if only one person is joining. Because if everyone are waiting for everyone else to RVSP, nobody joins and nobody finds a new friend. * You do not care how many people of the opposite sex are joining. You are looking for friends. Finding the best romantic partner in the world, while avoiding not very attractive others, can be your other goal, for another time. Here we are looking for Friends. Real ones. * You are going to risk a very precious property of yours: Your time! Yes, there are thousands of opportunities in Berlin, there might be a rock concert for free, a birthday party you might miss, an important person might call you and invite you spontaneously, but you never find new friends until you decide to risk your time and meet people anyway. "I will check my calendar and get back to you" also does not work. Commit your time and spend it. Trust me, you won't go bankrupt ;-) * You are ready to use your phone as a real phone! You might have been using your phone as a tablet to visit Instagram and Facebook and watch movies. But if you want to find friends, you must know that people might take your phone number and give you theirs. That means they will Call you! And you have to pick up the phone and answer it. If you want to find new friends, you must be ready to do something really hard for the first time after years: Call people first, and if they called you: Answer your phone! * You are going to meet some people twice! That's the point of friendship. We already can experience random encounters with random people in random places one at a time. But that is not called friendship. If you want friends, you must be ready to meet the same person more than once. If you agree with above, RVSP and COME! You will meet other people who think the same way. P.S: Now that you've read all the way down to here, I suggest you [watch this animation](https://player.vimeo.com/video/547249272?h=22f3dd0f6f).
Silent Reading / Creating Club at W66 (Saturday) [Luma to RSVP]
Silent Reading / Creating Club at W66 (Saturday) [Luma to RSVP]
RSVP on Luma: https://luma.com/2axg6eyy Silent Reading / Creating Club is a gathering for people who enjoy focusing together in public. Bring a book, a notebook, a sketchpad, knitting needles — whatever you’d like to spend a quiet hour with. All projects and all participants are welcome. This year is about creating more — quietly, consistently, imperfectly — and shaping environments that support that. If you’re building something of your own, you’re especially welcome here. We’re building a community of readers and creators who value depth, presence, and shared silence. The magic isn’t just in the quiet hour — it’s in the people who return and make it feel like a familiar room. (Please RSVP “yes” only if you can make it, so we can save a seat for you and others on the waitlist.) This quiet ritual unfolds at **W66 Café**. There’s no entrance fee, but please order at least one item from the café and don’t bring outside drinks 🙂 No assignments. No pressure. No productivity race. Just a shared hour of intentional silence, followed by relaxed conversation. 🕰 Our Agenda **10:30 – 11:00** Arrivals, ordering drinks/food, light social time **11:00 – 12:00** The Great Quiet Hour (Read. Write. Sketch. Code. Think. Sit.) **12:00 – 12:30** Optional socializing — share what you were reading or creating, or simply continue in quiet focus. ## **🏡 House Guidelines** To keep this space calm and welcoming for everyone: • Silence during the focus hour (no calls or conversations) • Phones on silent mode • If using a laptop, please avoid meetings or audio — headphones welcome • Arrive before 11:00 if possible to minimize disruptions
Lousy & Lazy SC - Mixed Friendly Football
Lousy & Lazy SC - Mixed Friendly Football
Do you like to play football - but relaxed and not with competitive or aggressive players? Are you a bit lazy, a bit old, a bit unfit or not so talented? Are you tired of insecure bros who only want to show off their skills? **Then [Lousy & Lazy Football](https://www.instagram.com/landlsc/) is the right thing for you!** We are a group of friendly people who just want to have a relaxed kick. All genders, ages (+18) and nationalities welcome. **Feel free to join the waitlist even if it seems long - sometimes we make the event larger and play on two pitches (24 players, four teams) or even three pitches (36 players, six teams), depending on demand.** Note: **We do not allow high-studded football boots during our sessions.** To avoid injuries, we only play with "Multinocken" (multistuds) or shorter. Please have a look here: [link](https://www.11teamsports.com/de-de/fussballschuhe/multinocken/). Rules for lazy & lousy football 1. **Don’t be competitive** 2. **No hard tackling/sliding challenges** 3. **Support new players by giving them the time and space to play the ball** 4. **Don’t dribble past multiple players (trying to take on a player is fine but at no point should you be trying to dribble past multiple players).** 5. **Don’t close down the defenders too quickly. Give the team a chance to play the ball out.** 6. **Rotate the goalkeeper** 7. **Be a teamplayer** Waiting list: This meetup is for members of the Lousy & Lazy Sport Club. If you want to try out our lousy & lazy sport events, you can do a trial run (Probetraining).

Mavericks Bouldering — A Casual Climb & Hangout in Berlin
Mavericks Bouldering — A Casual Climb & Hangout in Berlin
A small NEXUS gathering built around movement rather than discussion alone. This is for high-bandwidth Mavericks who spend most of their time in conceptual thought and need some physical counterweight. Why bouldering? Because it’s deliberate: short problems, full focus, and immediate feedback. You’re on the wall, solving something tangible. The mental noise drops instantly! Conversations happen naturally in between climbs. No pressure, you move at your own pace. Some exchanges stay light. Others go deep. Both are fine. This is not about athletic achievement. It’s about presence, recalibration, and being around people who don’t require you to shrink or translate yourself. Come as you are. Try some bouldering problems. Rest when needed, and engage where it makes sense. **Bring comfortable clothes and climbing shoes if you have them (rentals are available at the gym).** *Registration equals commitment. If you sign up, you show up. Read the group description first and decide consciously. Join us as we get together to see Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller in the highly anticipated sci-fi adventure, PROJECT HAIL MARY! As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission to save the Earth. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Sandra Huller (Anatomy of a Fall, The Zone of Interest), Lionel Boyce, Milana Vayntrub and Ken Leung. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VYsnngkS_U BUZZ AND REVIEWS: The buzz and reviews for PROJECT HAIL MARY are off-the-charts good! The film is earning a 95% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where critics call it an “old school blockbuster crowd-pleaser” and “a new sci-fi classic!” It’s “deeply hopeful,” well-acted,” funny,” “dramatic,” and “exceptionally rousing throughout!” Others call it “something truly magical” and one that “we’ll be talking about this one for decades to come!” And I believe Slashfilm says it best: “It will lift up and squeeze your heart, crack you up with laughter, and give you a sense of hope and wonder in a way that few movies have been able to inspire.” MOVIE PLAN: Please purchase your ticket for the 2:30pm SuperScreen DLX showing and meet in the lobby area between 2:05 and 2:15pm! Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
Humanist Program: Fighting the Efforts to Insert Religion into Public Education
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association: They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools. The presentation will cover SEA’s early wins and hard lessons, what we’re seeing nationally right now, and how local advocates can play a meaningful role in protecting public education. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of the landscape — and practical ways to get involved. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid.
