Spring is here finally and the working week done. Who is in the mood for some quiet togetherness while catching up on their reading? Let’s enjoy literature or non-fiction together and come to our Reading in Companionable Silence meeting on Friday - a first for us! We are also trying a new location. It is a cozy cafe in cozy Karlshorst, the southernmost part of Lichtenberg. You can get there by S 3 or U5 (station Tierpark) or from Friedrichshain by tram 21. I will welcome readers from 3pm. We socialize and there is to order some food or a beverage - ca. 30 min. Then we read for an hour in silence. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. Our March speakers are Molly Gaines and Zack Parrish, co-organizers of the Secular Education Association: They will share their story of how a small group of Ohio parents grew into a national organization tracking released-time religious instruction and other church–state issues in public schools.
