Pub Social & Live Talk: When Does Personality Rigidity Become a Disorder?
The London MBTI Meetup is back!
Calling all those with an interest in personality, Jung's psychological types and the Myers-Briggs MBTI.
Join us for a pub social and live talk in a lovely traditional pub venue.
Expect interesting conversations on topics of shared interest.
Whether you are new to type theory or a long time professional, all welcome, no particular knowledge or expertise required.
Jungian Analyst-in-training and business consultant Nick Toko will give a live talk / presentation including some slides at around 7pm for 20 mins. The topic will be 'When Does Personality Rigidity Become a Disorder?'
He will explore some of the differences between healthy adaptable personality and the more extreme and rigid presentations that might arise in a clinical setting.
Myself (Richard: a professional coach with an MSc in business psychology and many personality assessment qualifications), will be there to welcome, host and introduce people.
The venue is just 8 mins walk from Farringdon Station (multiple rail and tube lines) or 6 mins walk from Chancery Lane (Central Line). We will be in the upstairs room.
I've set the time 6-10pm so people can come straight from work in London OR come along later after going home or travelling into London.
No need to be there for the whole time.
Please RSVP, and keep it up to date.
Make the commitment to turn up, it will be fun!
#WPLDN - April 2026: AI in Agency Workflows & Levelling Up in WordPress
Join us for another evening at #WPLDN. This month, Louise Towler shares what AI actually looks like inside a WordPress agency, day to day. We'll follow that with a hosted, room-wide discussion on levelling up in WordPress, what the wider shift happening around us means for the work, and what it asks of us as a community. Two sessions, both grounded in the world WordPress competes in, rather than the world inside it.
đ
**Date:** Thursday, 30 April 2026
â° **Time:** 6:00 PM BST
đď¸ **Cost:** Free (Registration Required)
\-\-\-
**Session 1: How we're integrating AI into our agency workflow**
đ¤ **Speaker:** Louise Towler ([Indigo Tree](https://indigotree.co.uk))
Everyone's talking about AI transforming the way we work. But what does that actually look like inside a WordPress agency, day to day? Louise will share what Indigo Tree has been doing over the past year, integrating tools like Cursor, Sourcery, Claude, and Teamwork's MCP into real client work and reporting workflows. How they approached the change management, what genuinely saved time, what created more work than it solved, and what they're still figuring out.
Louise is the Founder and Managing Director of Indigo Tree, a digital agency trusted by businesses and non-profits across the UK. With over 30 years of experience in software and website development, she leads a team of developers, designers, and digital marketers delivering high-performance WordPress websites, content strategy, and technical SEO. A regular conference speaker and recipient of a Women in Innovation Award, Louise is passionate about creating websites that are inclusive, fast, and sustainable.
\-\-\-
**Session 2: Levelling up in WordPress, a hosted discussion**
đ¤ **Host:** Dan Maby
The world WordPress operates in is shifting quickly. Clients expect more. Competition is sharper. AI is reshaping the work, the pricing, and what people are willing to pay for. "Good enough" isn't what it used to be, and the bar for working professionally in WordPress is moving up, whether we like it or not.
So what does that mean for us? What does levelling up actually look like for agencies, freelancers, product builders, and everyone in between? And what does it mean for WPLDN, a community that has, if we're honest, often looked inward at the tool rather than outward at the world WordPress competes in? If the ground is moving, the conversations we have when we come together probably need to move with it.
A hosted, room-wide conversation about the wider shift and what it asks of us, both professionally and as a community. Less about the tool, more about the work, the market, and what we want from the room we're standing in.
Bring an opinion!

**Schedule:**
đš **6:00 PM** â Doors Open & Networking
đš **6:30 PM** â Welcome & Session 1: Louise Towler

Whether you're deep in AI tooling or still working out where it fits, whether you've been in WordPress for fifteen years or fifteen months, there's something here for you. Free pizza, excellent company, and post-event socials at a local bar afterwards. We'll see you there! đ

Learning to Be Kind to Yourself: mindfulness and self-compassion for gay men
An **8-week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course** \- take a deeper\, more sustained exploration of how mindfulness can support mental health\, wellbeing\, and everyday life\.
MBCT offers a practical and compassionate approach to working with stress, anxiety, low mood, and self-critical thinking. Rather than trying to âfixâ our thoughts or emotions, the course helps us develop a different relationship with them â one grounded in awareness, kindness, and choice.
This 8-week MBCT course is designed for gay men who want a grounded, practical way to work with stress, anxiety, low mood, self-criticism, or a sense of always having to âhold it togetherâ. Join us in a structured, supportive journey into mindfulness, self-care, and emotional resilience.
Many gay men grow up adapting to environments where it wasnât always safe to be fully ourselves. Over time, this can shape how we relate to our thoughts, bodies, emotions, and relationships â often leading to vigilance, comparison, shame, or feeling disconnected even when surrounded by others.
This course offers a compassionate, evidence-based way of meeting these patterns with awareness and kindness, rather than self-judgement or self-improvement pressure.
âThis course gave me tools to stop being overwhelmed by my thoughts and emotions. Itâs the single most impactful thing Iâve done for my mental health.â â Marie

[BOOK AUTUMN COURSE](https://bookwhen.com/evolvingminds#focus=ev-svamz-20261007190000)
**How the course works**
We meet in a small, closed group of up to 14 gay men, allowing trust, continuity, and depth to develop over time. Once the course begins, no new members join. The group format is an important part of the learning â many participants find that practising alongside other gay men brings a sense of ease, recognition, and belonging.
Learning unfolds through guided meditation, gentle movement, reflection, and shared inquiry. We learn from the practices, and from one another.
Unlike drop-in mindfulness sessions, this course follows a clear, progressive structure, with each week building on the last. By the end of the eight weeks, youâll have a personal toolkit of practices you can draw on in everyday life â especially during moments of stress, self-criticism, or emotional overwhelm.
**What youâll explore:**
* Becoming more present through the body and senses
* Working skillfully with intrusive or self-critical thoughts
* Developing a kinder, more supportive inner voice
* Turning towards difficulty rather than fighting or avoiding it
* Living more fully in the present moment
* Cultivating steadiness, ease, and emotional resilience
**Core practices include:**
* Body scan
* Mindfulness of breath and body
* Loving-kindness
* Compassion and self-acceptance
(Many familiar from the Monday group, explored in greater depth.)
**Is this course right for you?**
This course may be especially supportive if you:
* Feel stressed, anxious, low, or emotionally overwhelmed
* Notice strong self-criticism or pressure to perform
* Want a mindfulness course that feels human, grounded, and relational
* Value practising in a group of other gay men
* Are looking for tools you can actually use in daily life
No previous meditation experience is required.
The course is based on the internationally recognised MBCT programme developed at Oxford University, taught here with a compassion-centred, trauma-aware approach, and paced to support safety and integration. There is no requirement to âshareâ beyond what feels right for you.

In-Person Event: The Answers to Depression & Anxiety
This is an in-person meeting. At this meeting you will get answers to depression and anxiety. Find out the source of them and how to get rid of them.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like anxiety, depression, unhappiness, loneliness, hopelessness, anger, fear, or feelings of irritation donât just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not due to a chemical imbalance in your brain from some nebulous chemical reaction "by chance".
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you knew Del Close on a personal level, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup** for some fun and games!
The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Not only is it a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and make friendships that'll last a lifetime!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "Yes, And" that you'll have fun!
Want to Truly Heal from Emotional Trauma?
Why are we unhappy? Where does emotional pain come from? Studies show that people who suffer from long-term emotional pain have painful experiences in their lives that were never fully resolved in their mind. In other words, there were issues in the past that were not completely dealt with. This can include abuse in childhood, breakups, divorce, death of a loved one, to name a few.
How do you know whether you have gotten over something painful? Here is an easy test: Do you still have attention on what had happened to you? For instance, do you still find yourself thinking about something painful that you went through? If you are, then you are not over it. In fact, in severe cases, people find themselves playing a "tape" in their mind over and over again.
So how do you heal from your past? How do you stop the "tape" playing in your mind? In this meeting, you will learn a technique to help you with that.
Come join us! Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.
