Climate Within: in London Climate Action Week
Welcome everyone, we are here with an exciting event at London Climate Action Week (LCAW).
The event consist of two parts. The first part features a role-play called **JoyFuel**, centered on exploring and understanding the root causes of the climate crises. This is followed by a facilitated **discussion and an interactive workshop**, providing space for deeper reflection, dialogue, and collective learning around the same theme.
Objective: Participants will engage with climate science in a tangible and accessible way, combining play, activity, and reflection. The performance also encourages participants to reflect on how our individual actions, lifestyles, and consumption patterns contribute to ecological imbalance.
Part 1. **JoyFuel** is a play that explores Climate Crisis through reflective and deeper questions to understand its roots. The play stages a story of a graduate student (Arjun), who is ambitious and wants to get all the so-called happiness in his life. He looks up to influential figures, including pop stars and business magnates, as his role models. The story peeps through his own life and the lives of his role models who influence a mass of people to lead a life where happiness is synonymous with more consumption. The collective actions, of the characters, driven by bottomless greed negatively impact the environment. This is depicted through the tragic story of a family of Albatrosses, a seabird. One by one, a family of Albatrosses falls silent, become victims of a meal that was never food but the plastic left behind. Similarly, the adverse conditions of Penguins due to change in the climate, particularly the molt stress is also presented. Through these narratives, the play emphasizes human responsibility in creating and perpetuating this crisis, while encouraging inquiry, awareness and collective action towards protecting ecosystems. The play aims to shift the prevalent notion of happiness through consumption and burning Fossil fuel to fueling the joy within - hence JoyFuel.
**Part 2.** **Voice of Earth,** the group discussion and the workshop is an interactive session where the facts about the climate crises will be discussed in detail. In particular, we will scientifically describe the basic terminology associated with climate change like ocean acidification, shifting weather patterns, climate feedback cycles, greenhouse effect etc. For example, through engaging and lively demonstrations, participants will learn about the concept of planetary boundaries, which are the environmental limits within which Earth remains habitable. Crossing these boundaries can lead to serious and potentially irreversible consequences for the Earth To make the experience more engaging, participants will interact with each planetary boundary presented in a human-like form. This approach will help participants better understand the condition of our planet and the importance of these limits.

Healing the Feminine - Biodanza for Women
Dive into a soulful Biodanza session designed to reconnect and celebrate your inner feminine energy.
Your body holds more wisdom than you've been taught to trust.
Somewhere beneath the busyness, the caregiving, the noise, there is a woman who knows how to move, how to feel, how to belong to herself.
This workshop is an invitation back to her.
**Does any of this feel familiar?**
* You go through the days feeling disconnected from your own body, like you're watching your life rather than living it.
* You've lost touch with what it feels like to move freely, playfully, without self-consciousness or a goal to achieve.
* You carry other people's needs with ease, but struggle to feel your own or to ask for what you need.
* You long for connection with other women that goes beyond the surface.
Through Biodanza, guided reflection, and circle sharing, you'll be invited to return to the aliveness that lives in your body. You will experience the nourishment of genuine feminine connection.
Biodanza is at the heart of this day. Through music, movement, and women's connection, it bypasses the thinking mind and reaches something deeper, dissolving defences, softening the armour we accumulate, and awakening the parts of us we've learned to keep small.
You don't need to know how to dance. You just need to be willing to feel and express through movements.
**What you'll take with you**
* An embodied connection to your feminine self, felt, not just understood
* More ease and freedom in how you inhabit and move in your body
* Insight into the emotional patterns that keep you stuck, and gentle pathways through them
* A quieter, more grounded sense of your own worth
* Genuine connection with other women
* Simple practices to continue your healing journey in everyday life
Whether you feel disconnected from your body, weary of carrying too much, or simply curious about what it might feel like to come home to yourself, you are welcome here.
All women welcome. Come as you are.
No experience is needed.
Just come as you are, with your full self, your quiet longings, and your tired edges.
You’ll be met with care.
**What to Bring:**
* Comfortable, soft clothing you can move and dance in
* Warm layers and socks (we'll be moving barefoot)
* A journal and pen for personal reflections
* A water bottle
* An open heart, no movement or dance experience needed

Based on traditional Japanese sword movements (‘Taisoken’ literally means ‘exercise sword’ in Japanese) the class blends cardio and light weight resistance training to burn fat and build long lean muscles.
We make use of traditional Japanese training swords (called ‘Bokken’) to tone our arms and strengthen our cores. No prior training or martial arts experience is required, the class is completely non-contact and suited to all levels of fitness. Come and join us every second Sunday for a strong work out - most weeks be pop to the local pub/café for a quick coffee or cake (and let’s be honest, sometimes both!) Meetup Cost: £10 Please bring the payment with you on the day and pay directly to Taisoken or you can make a bank transfer on the day.
Classes are for ladies only.
Back ground Info: Taisoken Sword Fitness has been developed and is led by Jeff Humm, who has been studying studying the use of the Japanese sword for over 45 years together with other traditional martial arts. He holds a Masters degree in Traditional Japanese Martial Arts and a 7th Dan in Japanese fencing (Kendo). The movements are authentic cutting actions, some dating back more than 3 hundred years when your life depend on how well you wield the Sword. By taking authentic Japanese sword movements of attack and defence, these actions have been formulated into practice routines which work and sculpt the full range of the body’s muscles.
Additionally the routines require participates to focus and visualise their actions leading them to seeking perfection in application which in turn empowers the mind and develops greater body and mind equilibrium. The Japanese sword is sharp and slender, renowned and admired across the world for its beauty and image; those that can weld it effectively are held in great esteem and revered. They are resilient and tranquil, with poise and grace they move without effort, mind, body and sword as one.

What is something you believe that most people around you disagree with?
If you could master one skill instantly, what would it be and why?
What does a meaningful life look like to you?
What book has had the greatest impact on your thinking?
What would your younger self be surprised to learn about you today?
What is a question you find endlessly fascinating?
What do you think people misunderstand most about happiness?

Free In-Person Events: How to Let Go of the Past and Move Forward
The emotional pain from past bad experiences easily lingers in the present, making it hard to enjoy life and create your future. Even when you think you've moved on, the negative emotions can be triggered, sending you back into the pain of that experience.
And we are talking about pain; emotions such as grief, depression, anxiety, fear (or terror), boiling anger, simmering resentment, feelings of shame, blaming and regret can leave you incapacitated to a greater or lesser degree.
In this local event we will be discussing the reasons why these past bad experiences have the power to affect you long after they occurred. We'll go over why the emotional pain can be so strong. We'll also discuss some simple solutions to overcome your emotional pain and be free to fully enjoy your life again.
Examples of painful experiences include:
* A broken relationship or divorce.
* Death or loss of a loved one.
* Death of a pet.
* A sudden shock or bad news.
* A betrayal.
* Being part of an abusive relationship.
* A bad injustice.
* Loss of a job, position or business.
* A grave illness or injury.
The negative emotions from these experiences don't just go away on their own. But the good news is there is a way to clear them out of your way.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.

Come join us to discuss our July pick "Tusk Love" by Thea Guanzon!
Book description:
A merchant’s daughter who yearns for adventure gets more than she bargained for when she falls for a broodingly handsome stranger in this saucy romantasy from the New York Times bestselling author of The Hurricane Wars.
“A true delight of a book! Spicy and heartfelt—this one is a winner all around.”—Katee Robert, author of Neon Gods
As the daughter of an ambitious merchant, Guinevere’s path has been predetermined: marry into a noble house of the Dwendalian Empire, raise her family’s station, and live quietly as a lordling’s obedient wife. But Guinevere longs for a life unbounded by expectations, for freedom and passion and adventure.
Those distant dreams become a sudden reality when her caravan is beset by bandits, leaving her guards slain and Guinevere stranded alone on the dangerous Amber Road. Her only chance of survival is to travel alongside Oskar, the aloof half-orc who saved her during the attack.
Unlike Guinevere, Oskar’s path is not so set in stone. With his mother dead and his apprenticeship abandoned, all that’s left is a long, lonely walk to a land he’s never seen to find family he’s never met. The last thing he needs is a spoiled waif like Guinevere slowing him down—even if the spark between them sizzles with promise.
Despite his cold exterior, Oskar is brave and thoughtful and unlike anyone Guinevere has ever met. And while Guinevere may be sheltered, she brings out a softness in him that he has never dared to feel before. As the flames of their passion grow, they realize that soon they’ll need to choose between their expected destinations or their blossoming romance.
Written by New York Times bestselling author Thea Guanzon at the behest of Critical Role’s Jester Lavorre, Tusk Love brings the most romantic story on Exandrian bookshelves to life.

Want to Truly Heal from Emotional Trauma?
Why are we unhappy? Where does emotional pain come from? Studies show that people who suffer from long-term emotional pain have painful experiences in their lives that were never fully resolved in their mind. In other words, there were issues in the past that were not completely dealt with. This can include abuse in childhood, breakups, divorce, death of a loved one, to name a few.
How do you know whether you have gotten over something painful? Here is an easy test: Do you still have attention on what had happened to you? For instance, do you still find yourself thinking about something painful that you went through? If you are, then you are not over it. In fact, in severe cases, people find themselves playing a "tape" in their mind over and over again.
So how do you heal from your past? How do you stop the "tape" playing in your mind? In this meeting, you will learn a technique to help you with that.
