Symposium
Join us for Symposium! đđťđł
In antiquity, a symposium was a gathering of friends who came together to recline around a shared table, where wine and conversation flowed freely into the night. Together, they would choose a topic and take turns speaking, listening, and laughingâguided by the rhythms of drink and dialogue.
Inspired by this tradition, our Symposium has no set theme. It's an invitation to come together with other curious minds, to offer up questions or ideas, and to vote together on where to begin. Whether you're hungry for connection or simply seeking space to speak and be heard, you're warmly welcomed to join the conversation.
Symposium will meet in parks throughout Prague, embracing the sunshine and pleasant weather while we have it. Bring a blanket or something to sit on. Thereâs no cost to join, but please bring a snack or drink to share, if you're able. Most of all, bring a curious mind and a willingness to learn from the insight of others.
Feel free to bring a friend or two--also, children and friendly dogs are welcome!
\*\*\*
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll try to find an alternate venueâso keep an eye on the event chat or your email for updates.
Also, despite the origins of the Symposium, our goal is not necessarily to get drunk and the organizer would encourage you not to come with that sole purpose in mind. :)
The first 45 minutes of the event will be dedicated to simply getting to know one another, and we highly encourage you to join for this part. We will then vote whether to continue free conversation, to join together in a single conversation, or to split up into multiple groups. Afterwards, youâre welcome to stay or follow onto any spontaneous activity that unfolds.
A note on attendance: If you need to cancel, please do so at least a few days in advance and update your RSVP accordingly. This helps honor the hostâs efforts and makes space for others who would like to attend. Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may result in being placed on the waitlist for future events.

Open Heart Meditation with Amrita Rani
Open Heart Meditation Sessions with Amrita Rani
(Live in-person and online on selected Thursdays via Zoom)
You are warmly invited to join the Open Heart Meditation Sessions with Acharya Amrita Rani â a living space of awakenings and direct experience.
These sessions are created both for beginners and seasoned practitioners who wish to deepen their meditation practice, stabilize awakening, and walk the path of enlightenment with guidance and support. Whether you are new or experienced, each gathering offers a grounded structure to help you build consistency in daily practice and grow in confidence on your spiritual path.
At the heart of Open Heart teachings is direct recognition. Through the Two-Part Formula and precise meditative guidance, you are supported in shifting from self-based mode into selfless awareness, again and again, until cessation of suffering takes place.
A central and deeply transformative practice in Open Heart is guru yoga. Through guru yoga, the practitioner directly connects with awakened awareness through devotion, transmission, and experiential recognition. With the help of this profound method, one recognizes their true selfless ease, the natural, effortless state beyond space and time.
Alongside guru yoga, the sessions include insight meditation (Vipashyana), tantric methods, dynamic concentration, trauma-healing techniques, and foundational practices such as Bodhicitta prayers. Each session includes guided meditation, space for questions, reflection, and personal support.
Raniâs meditation sessions are held live on Zoom on selected Thursdays from 18:30 to 20:00 (CET). Recordings may be available for continued integration and practice on her YouTube channel, The Sweetness of Enlightenment.

Book Club: VĂĄclav Havel, The Power of the Powerless
On Saturday, 27th of June, weâre going to meet and discuss the *The Power of the Powerless* by VĂĄclav Havel, an influential book that has become a key text of dissident thought in communist Eastern Europe.
Written in 1978, Havelâs book explores how authoritarian systems sustain themselves not only through force, but through conformity, fear, and everyday participation in lies. What does it mean to âlive within the truthâ? Can ordinary people resist oppressive systems, even when they seem powerless? And what forms of responsibility do individuals bear in political life?
Although written under late socialism in Czechoslovakia, Havelâs reflections remain strikingly relevant today. How do ideology, bureaucracy, media, and social pressure shape our behaviour? Are modern societies immune to the dynamics Havel describes â or do they simply take different forms?
VĂĄclav Havel (1936â2011) was a Czech playwright, dissident, political thinker, and statesman. A leading figure of the democratic opposition during communist rule, he later became the last President of Czechoslovakia and the first President of the Czech Republic.
***
Anyone is welcome to join! Before the meeting, please read the book (itâs around 100 pages long), think about it, and note any passages you find especially interesting, challenging, or worth discussing. Weâll share our thoughts and interpretations during the meeting.
